Heartwarming Contemporary Christian Romance Carrie Dorsay-Delaney returns to her historical New Hampshire hometown after a bitter, broken engagement. Down to her last penny, she moves into a tiny barn apartment, unaware she is living in the backyard of a celebrity. All she remembers of classmate Declan Harris is a tall, bookish dreamer. Few know Declan is actually J.J. Halfpenny, the internationally successful young adult author, and Declan prefers the anonymity. His Colonial era home is his muse. He believes, were he to embrace fame over his humble lifestyle, his creativity would dry up. He earns Carrie’s gratitude for befriending her shy, loner son, but can he look outside his office window to the love he’s been missing?
WRITE OUTSIDE HIS WINDOW is, to date, Lisa Norato's best story! The delivery is well-written and fast-paced. I've always loved the concept of a woman falling in love with a man without knowing his full identity, and this book surpassed my expectations! The setting takes place in a small town in New Hampshire, and I love the hero's secret, humble brilliance. While I read this, I wondered how Carrie would react when Declan reveals his true identity, and I wasn't disappointed. There's absolutely nothing not to love about this sweet, endearing romance!!
The idea for this book has been simmering in my mind for years. People often ask authors where they get their ideas, and for me, this story began in my own quaint, historical neighborhood with a Colonial era home on a wooded lot with a chalkboard hanging by its front batten door. I can’t drive past without looking to see what the chalkboard has to say. Sometimes it’s a welcome to the neighborhood, a birthday announcement, a reminder of our annual May breakfast, or most often, just a word of wisdom. Needless to say, it got me to thinking. . . .
And then, I’ve always wanted to include my forever dog, Chaka, in one of my books. That’s her on the cover, by the way! Some of my early readers have told me this is my best book yet. I don’t know—it all depends on individual reading taste—and it’s difficult to judge your own work. I only hope readers will enjoy Write Outside His Window as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Another sweet romance from Lisa Norato. I really enjoyed all the characters…especially the little terrier Chaka! I loved the setting and the descriptions make you feel like you like you are right there. I thought the book inside the book was very interesting. Loved the ending!
