Heather's Notes
Jace so annoyed me at the beginning of this book, but then it resolved itself so quickly. I don't know, it felt unnatural. After that the book progressed nicely and I liked it. I don't know if I will continue though, I am not a fan of Keslie, she comes across as a spoiled brat, but maybe.

I’m always up for some paranormal fiction and enjoyed the plot of this story.
The story sees alpha dragons finding their fated mates but traditionally it has always been dragon mates, but fate has thrown a spanner in the works and now they are finding themselves fated to human females. Humans don’t know their kind exist and they don’t feel a bond so revealing themselves can only be done if they are sure they are the one fate intended.
As the women learn there is an entirely new world out there, and what fated means the story is rich with tension. But it’s not just the dragons’ stories each woman also has a problem that comes to light that their men will do anything to keep them safe.
Emotions run high as the characters confront their circumstances, dealing with conflicting feelings of fear, hope, and longing. The presence of strong alpha males adds another layer of complexity to the tale.
Amidst these challenges, there is also an undercurrent of playful interactions. Overall, it’s an interesting blend of love, action, and adventure that keeps you engaged from beginning to end.

Review of The Dragon’s Fate
By Roxie Ray

I’ve said it before and I certainly don’t mind saying it again – I love the way Roxie Ray writes! Her dragon stories have always been among my favorites, even to include going back and rereading them. For the most part, they aren’t terribly long, but they pack a lot of emotion, drama and intrigue into each book. I haven’t read the first book in this series (Bluewater Coast Series), but I intend to rectify that situation as soon as I finish one of her alien series that I’m currently reading, which I also enjoy.

Briana, the heroine, has been on the run from her abusive ex-husband. She and her six-year-old daughter, Hayden, along with her parents and younger sister, Bianca, have moved to the small town of Bluewater in Maine. Somehow though, Damon has found them and confronted her, in violation of the restraining order she has against him. Fortunately, Jace, the hero and the owner of the local bar, was there to block Damon from harming Briana. And even though Damon was arrested and hauled off to jail, she is fearful that he’ll be out in no time.

Jace, a dragon shifter, is wary of getting involved with any woman. His father was a womanizer and left him and his mother when he was young, thereby setting a terrible example for being a father, and he had a really bad experience with a young woman he thought he loved when he was in his early twenties. She had told him that he was the father of her child and it wasn’t until he was holding the child, bonding with it, that she told him that she didn’t think he was the father after all. Paternity tests confirmed that he wasn’t the father and it tore a hole in his heart as she left with the child. Since that time, he hasn’t been interested in a serious relationship, preferring one-night stands and casual sex.

However, when he meets Briana, he feels the mating tattoo growing on his arm and knows that she is his fated mate. Due to his fears, he does everything he can think of to break the bond with Bri, even though it causes him excruciating physical pain. But when he sees Bri’s daughter, the pain becomes even stronger. As the clan’s witch explains, Bri and Hayden are a package deal and the bond with both will need to be broken. But she also shows him what life can be like if he accepts the bond and, perhaps more importantly, how empty and barren his life will be if he refuses the bond.

Does Jace decide to accept the bond with Bri and Hayden or does he choose to let his fears rule his life? And if he decides to accept the bond, will he be able to convince Bri to trust him, especially given how nastily he’s been treating her? Will Damon be back to hurt Bri and Hayden? And will Bri accept the fact that Jace is a dragon shifter? These questions and more are answered in this thoroughly enjoyable book. Do yourself a favor and try this book or one of her other books. You’ll be glad you did!

The Dragons Fate
Jace and Bri
Overall this was a good story. I did have a few things that bugged me, but the story and the characters were enjoyable.
Jace. Owns the local bar. Enjoys his family, his dragon clan, and really loves the ladies. The more the merrier. The last thing he wants is a mate. Even if that’s what fate has thrown his way. He’s determined to break this bond, even if it kills him. And it just might. But his thinking is, it’s better than Bri being stuck with a guy like him. And even better for her daughter.
Briana. Single mom to six year old Hayden. She’s escaped her abusive ex husband, and taken her and her daughter to the small town of Bluewater Maine. It’s not long before her ex tracks her down. Determined to take his daughter from her. Jace comes to her rescue twice. She’s grateful, and finds herself drawn to him. She’s not opposed to a quick fling, but something about him calls to her.
I really liked Jace in the first book. Not so much in the first half of this book. To turn Bri against him, he’s downright hateful. And then gets caught by Bri with another woman. Not such a great guy then. But he has his reasons. His serious “daddy” issues. He does turn his attitude around and is great from then on. Falls hard for both Bri and Hayden.
Briana had double standards when it came to honesty. She got angry when Jace held back information about her ex, and daughter. Even though Jace didn’t have all the information. But was unforgiving of Jace and his secrets. It was a bit over the top.
When you finish the first book, The Dragons Tattoo, the last chapter is from Jace’s POV. It’s the first time he saves Bri, and it’s the first time he touches her and their mate mark shows up on his arm. That scene is completely absent from this book. You don’t ever get a clear picture of why they are fated mates. He just suddenly has the mark. It made that part of the story feel unfinished.
The other thing that bugged me was a point of continuity. It’s my own personal hang up and did not affect my review in any way. In the first book, Hayden’s hair is blonde. In this book she’s biracial and has dark hair. It just really gnawed at me.
I liked the story and the writing style. The characters are great. The small town setting is quaint.
I loved catching up with Skye and Anthony.
I’ll read the next one.
Dual points of view.
No cheating. (He tries, but can’t follow through)

Roxie Ray’s The Dragon’s Fate continues the Bluewater Dragons series with a blend of supernatural drama, romantic tension, and familial intrigue. While the story weaves intricate relationships and explores themes of bonding, responsibility, and protection, its execution leaves much to be desired.
The relationship between Briana (Bri) and Jace, the central couple, feels forced and inconsistent. Bri comes across as hypocritical at times, making her character difficult to root for. Jace’s initial resistance to the bond and his cold treatment of Bri, although explained as a side effect of their supernatural connection, feels unnecessarily drawn out and repetitive. This dynamic makes their eventual attraction seem more a result of plot mechanics than genuine chemistry.

The subplot involving Damon, Bri’s threatening ex-husband, adds tension but feels secondary to the story’s focus on Bri and Jace’s evolving relationship. The introduction of Jace’s half-brother, Porter, and the revelations about their family dynamics are intriguing but underexplored, leaving potential for deeper character development untapped.

Highlights include the more lighthearted moments, such as Hayden’s birthday celebrations, which add warmth and showcase Jace’s growing connection to Bri and her daughter. These scenes, along with Jace’s efforts to navigate his dual responsibilities to his clan and his personal life, offer glimpses of the emotional depth the book could have achieved with more nuanced storytelling.

However, the pacing feels uneven, with the plot at times dragging through repetitive interactions and then rushing through critical events like Damon’s final confrontation. The resolution, while tying up loose ends, feels somewhat anticlimactic given the buildup.

Overall, The Dragon’s Fate has the elements of a compelling story but struggles to execute them effectively. Fans of the series might appreciate the continuation of the Bluewater Dragons world, but others may find the book's inconsistencies and underwhelming character dynamics detract from its potential.

Briana and her 6-year-old daughter, Hayden, are trying to stay hidden from her abusive ex-husband. She moved with her parents and younger sister to get away from him, but Damon tracked them and came after her despite a restraining order. Jace, a dragon shifter and the owner of the bar, protected Briana and Damon was locked away in jail.

The problem, however, is that when Jace met Briana, the mating tattoo appeared indicating she is his fated mate! From past history, having a womanizing father for an example, and an ex who falsely claimed he fathered her child then left him after proving he didn’t, he has learned to avoid relationships. In trying to break the bond with Briana, he doesn’t treat her well and he endures physical pain from his efforts. By the time he realizes he needs her in his life, will she trust him after the way he behaved? Will she be alarmed that he is a dragon? Is Damon still determined to interfere in Briana’s life?

I can never get enough dragon stories, and this author does them very well! The characters are great, damaged but redeemable with the right incentive. Is there happiness waiting for Jace and Briana? Or will their own fears make that impossible?

3.5 fated family stars!!

These are the kind of fated mates I enjoy. The ones that take their time that woo their mates and not just barge in and be like mine. I'm enjoying this authors writing style and her romances are easy to read. I have read the first two books each in a day. The thought that there is a mystical element at play and they are not quite sure why the dragons can now claim humans is interesting. I like how the whole town thinks these families are cults it's a cute little funny aspect.

I loved both of these character, each was kind of scarred in their own way, Bri's past is still kind of here. I liked her family a lot and how they would do anything for each other. Of course Jace can be a little stubborn because of his past but who isn't but the fact that he doted so much on Bri and her daughter was precious. Both this book and the first book took place over the course of weeks with the relationship and I kind of liked that. I think this reveal of his dragon self was better than the first book.

If you are looking for a great get away shifter romance I think these are perfect.

Brianna is best friends with Skylar, who we met in the first book. Jace owns the local bar and is a dragon shifter. Bri had moved to Bluewater to get a fresh start after a very acrimonious divorce from her abusive ex husband. Ignoring the order of protection that she had from the court, her ex shows up in Bluewater and begins to physically assault Bri. Jace intervenes and realizes that Bri is his fated mate.

I’m not sure why, but this book just fell flat for me. I liked Jace when he appeared in the previous book and I liked him here. I liked Brianna, although her response when Jace revealed his dragon to her was disappointing.I don’t understand why these woman cannot comprehend why revealing their secret is a delicate and nerve wracking decision for these dragons. So I’m not sure why this book just didn’t do it for me.

I liked the first book, but I don’t think I’d recommend this book. Read Ms. Ray’s Lunarian Warriors or her Blackclaw Dragons series. Those are very good reads.

Loving this series so far, this read is all about Jace, Bri and her daughter Hayden. Their story is not straight forward. Jace doesn’t think he’ll be a good mate or father so tries his best to try to break the bond pulling him toward Brianna and her daughter Hayden, but what happens when fate continues its path and Sammy helps push this family together?
Loved this story, plot and the characters. It has some series issues, lots of angst, some surprises and loads of turns, but it has a beautiful love story, not only between Jace and Bri but also Jace’s relationship with Hayden who he considers his daughter once the mates call comes into play.
The love scenes are absolutely smoking hot, with a lot of descriptions but not overly crude. I loved the relationships between Bri her family and friends but also Jace’s family and friends including his new bond with Porter, which is a surprise. Overall cant wait to see how Porter’s story plays out, loving this shifter series.

Have to love a dragon!

The Dragon's Fate: Bluewater Dragons Book 2
By Roxie Ray
Kindle unlimited purchase
Now that Anthony is the alpha of the Bluewater Dragon clan things have changed. They knew they can mate with humans and still have families.
With having dreams every night about her ex-husband chasing her through an endless hallway with no help in sight Briana was exhausting.
Jace owns the local bar in Bluewater. He has his reasons for not wanting a mate especially one with a child already.
Jace and Bri went through he$$. Not only with her ex but with what Jace did to her trying to push her away.
This is the second book in this series. Each book has each own H and h, with NO over lap. But I do recommend reading this series in order that way you know ALL of the characters and their own stories.

Jace and Bri knew each other slightly but Jace is not happy when the mating mark shows up with Bri as his mate. He knows humans can mate with dragons but he doesn't think he wants a mate. His family history did not make him look favorably on having a family. When he tries to deny their mating, he's in horrible pain. Bri (on the other hand) is being stalked by her ex-husband and Jace has helped her several times. The characters are good. Jace and Bri both have to grow some and admit what they want. It was interesting to see what they went through with each other and their families. I think a good story is coming with Porter. I look forward to it

If you love dragon stories than this is for you. Roxie Ray writes the most amazing stories that keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat until the last page. Jace was hurt badly by not only his father who was a womanizer and a young woman told him that the child she had was his but it was a lie. No wonder he wants to be left alone. When he meets Bri he feels his mating tattoo growing on his arm letting him know that she is his fated mate. There is plenty of drama, action, and emotions between Bri and Jace. Will he decide to keep the bond and accept Bri and her daughter Hayden? Will he give up the bond and live an empty barren life? This is a dragon shifter story like none other I have read. Jace and Bri are a cute couple to say the least. Jace knows Bri is his fated mate but does not want to accept it. He had issues as he grew up and didn’t want a family. Bri is human and does not know about paranormals. Jace makes Bri hate him but the bond breaking is literally almost killing him he feels. The clan witch shows Jace what his two futures could be and he choose Bri. These two get together and fall for one another. That is until Bri finds out Jace has kept a lot of things from her. She is mad and tells him off and she needs to think. Does Bri accept why he kept things from her? Or does she run away from him?

Jace knows Briana is his fated mate but is resisting the bond.
Jace knows he has found his fated mate but due to his past he thinks he is unfit to be a husband or father so he resists the bond. Which makes him start to feel sick which increases the longer he resists. Briana divorced her abusive husband three years before and the only thing she got in the settlement was her daughter Hayden but ever since she has had to keep moving as he keeps finding them and causing trouble despite of the restraining order against him. This time she had moved to the town where her parents had moved but her hopes of alluding him are shattered when he accosts her outside the bar where she and her friends had been having a girls evening. She is saved when Jace the owner of the bar comes to her rescue.

This was a fun ride!

Bri just got out of a rough divorce, escaping her abusive husband, and is not living at her parents house with her daughter Hayden. While there she meets Jace who is a dragon shifter and she is his fated mate. Jace wants to break the feelings he has for her because he doesn’t think he’ll be a good husband but all of that changes as his feelings grow for Bri and her daughter.

This was pretty good it didn’t bring anything new the table but it was just some fun smut. I really enjoyed Jace and Hayden’s relationship I thought it was really cute seeing the two interact. The relationship he has with Bri is also very cute and I love how in the beginning they hate each other and then started to catch feelings for each other. The subplot of Bri’s abusive husband was also very interesting and added some spice to the novel and made it a riveting read.

This is the second book in the Bluewater Dragons series. I didn't enjoy the couple in this one nearly as much as I did in the first book. I found the main male character really annoying and I disliked that he pushed the relationship so hard away and then 360'd and went gunho and wanted the whole happy family.

I really did enjoy the main female character and her daughter. I think that relationship and interactions were well done.

I will still pick up the 3rd book in this series, but I'll probably wait a little while until I'm more in the mood for it. Still, this was a good story and I enjoy Roxie Ray's writing style. I think she's talented. I was just not a fan of one of the characters.

This is Jace and Briana’s story.

Jace is the player of the group, owns a bar and grew up without a father. There is also a previous relationship that broke his heart and why he’s a player.

Bri and daughter, Hayden are hiding from her abusive ex, Damon. He later finds her and things get scary, crazy.

Jace comes to the rescue when Damon confronts Briana. This is when Jace discovers that Bri is his fated mate. Jace tries to fight it and is rude to Bri so that he can break the bond but can he? Will he?

Sammy, the clan witch tries to make him see that this is a good thing. To make matters worse, maybe better Porter, Jace’s brother appears.

It all comes together in the end but with a HEA.

3 years ago Bri got a divorce and her ex kept bothering her, Jace came to her rescue a few times. The first time helped her his mating tattoo started on his arm but he was trying to reject her and was killing him. The witch showed him two different futures possible for which way he took so he decided not to reject Bri and her daughter. Hayden loved him and Bri accepted the dragon part, the problem with her ex got solved also. I am waiting impatiently for the next book! All of Roxie Ray’s books are great!

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. The Dragon's Fate by Roxie Ray is the second book in her Bluewater Coast series. This is a really enjoyable story that I just couldn't put down once I began reading. Jace is a dragon that has no interest in mating or family. Briana is on the run with her family in tow from a deranged ex. Fate has a warped sense of humor and will not be denied. This fast paced story is loaded with drama, danger, lust, love and sexy shifters. Roxy Ray delivers characters that have steamy chemistry and are delightfully flawed. This is a Mature Readers Only Read.

Really good romance, great story line.

Bri is cornered by her violent ex husband, in an alley. Taking out the trash Jace hears a woman who sounds like she's in trouble, he goes to help. After he has the ex under control, and waiting the police he touches her,and feels the burn in his arm, signalling a Fated Mate.
Jace is a player, with no intention of ever marrying or having kids.
Read to see what he does and goes threw, trying to avoid his fate and how it turns out.
Surprises, secrets, misunderstandings, and danger will keep you reading

Escaping the past

Bri is a single mother with an adorable 7 year old daughter. But she has trouble after her in the form of her stalker ex-husband.
Jace's mate tattoo appears when he helps a woman in an abusive situation. He knows that she is human and a friend of his alpha's mate. He has issues from his past and doesn't want a mate.
Things goes from good to bad several times in this book. We meet a new dragon too who is very helpful.
This book kept me interested and not wanting to stop reading for anything.

I said it once, I’ll say it again. Mate romances have no place for playboys. It’s literally two opposites since once a male smells his mate he can be with no other in ANY way. He is absolutely loyal whether he loves her or not. And no woman or wants to read about the male character of the romance screwing everyone woman in sight. Yuck.

I mean she literally walked in on him trying to screw another woman but he couldn’t get it up WHILE wearing the mating tattoo for her. He doesn’t deserve a mate and she doesn’t deserve a playboy shit like him

I enjoyed this book but...
1. You don't have to keep telling us that Hayden likes to spend weekends with her grandparents.
2. You need to have read the first book before you read this one. Their are parts of dragon lore for this universe that are mentioned in book one that aren't in book two.

And here is where it fell apart for me
3. All book long Jace tried to keep his mom and his brother apart because his brother looked so much like their deadbeat father. And yet in the last chapter suddenly Jace looks like his father and Porter looks like his mother. What?!?!

Excellent second book in the Roxie Ray series. I just love dragon shifter reads. This series is a must read if you are a dragon lover too! This time it’s Jace that finds love and of all people it’s Bri, Skye’s best friend. A solid plot unfolds on two damaged souls who find it hard to trust real love. Throw in a deranged ex-husband and you have a recipe for a great afternoon read. I could not put it down. Download and enjoy!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Another fun story from the dragon clan in Bluewater. This time is is about Jace and what he does to fight his chose human mate. It was hot, entertaining and fun to read. I wanted to slap Jace a few times but it was entertaining. Have to say Jace could be a moron. Liked visiting with others from the first book. I found the new and old characters to be interesting. plus the story had a bit of drama that made me laugh a few times. Just an entertaining story in the series with dragons!

Jace owns a bar and is a bit of a playboy. Oh he is also a dragon.
He meets his fated mate Briana, but he does not want a relationship so try's to make her hate him.
She has a daughter to protect from her Ex.
So his dragon does what he does best - protects what is his.

Another great book that I can recommend you read

Sexy healing is a wonderful thing

Sometimes you just want that extra large Hershey's chocolate bar. The Dragon's Fate is just that, a quick, cheap, mood booster. Sex scenes that are real(ish) light drama, happy ending. I do appreciate the realistic characters, even if they are still "romance novel" characters. Backstories that make them everyday people who just happen to meet dragons.

Single mom on the run from awful ex-husband and hot dragon shifter who doesn't think he would mate a good mate.

This story both tugged at my heartstrings and also made me want to jump up and down. This books has all the feelings.

I really liked the character of Jace in this book. He was SO sure he would be a horrible father or father figure to any child that he wasn't being fair to himself. Reading about him around kids will just make you melt.

Even more interesting than the first book!!

This book has some interesting twists and turns. Bri is trying to make a safe life for her daughter, but her ex isn't making it easy. Jace thought he and his girlfriend were going to raise their child together, but that didn't happen. Even though it was years ago, it still affects his life and decisions. Being fated mates doesn't mean things are easy.
