Tuff Enough Fast Burn is the son of the best bucking bull shifter in history. His career path took a hard right turn though, because he isn’t a bull, like his father. He inherited the wolf of his mother instead. Burning up the ranks as the best bronc rider in the world, Tuff is the circuits bad boy that everyone loves to hate. In the off-season, he melts into invisibility, so when a beautiful woman shows up at his ranch claiming to know him, he can’t help but feel suspicious. Luna turns out to be the biggest surprise of his life…he just has to figure out if that’s a good thing, or a bad thing.
Luna Hagan has watched Tuff grow up from afar. Feeling like he is a kindred spirit, the time has come to expose exactly who she is, and see where it could lead. She has a history with his herd that feels very important to her, but getting to know the real Tuff Enough Fast Burn could shatter the way she views her world. It’s a risk seeking out the reclusive werewolf, but one she has to take. If she’s going to connect with her past, Tuff is going to have to be the one who guides her through it.

It has been a while since I read the rest of the series and just realized that I never marked First Time Train Wreck off on my GR account even though I read it. This was a short 89 page return to the world of the Battle of the Bulls.
I really quite loved the characters in this one but I think Raven and Dead from Dead of Winter are still my favorite duo/couple in the series.
But in this book, our hero is Tuff who is Quickdraw and Annabelle’s son. He isn’t a bull but a wolf that is a rider instead of the bucker. He struggles with how expendable he is to his past relationships and how in hard times he was abandoned because the fame wasn’t there. This story explores how two broken shifters can find peace and heal their souls together.
Luna was the child that Wreck saved when stopping the experimentation of shifters in First Time Train Wreck. She is a Hagan and a cow shifter. As a result of the experimentation she ended up deaf. When freed she was taken in by her adoptive parents including . She is so sweet and I want to see more of them in later books.
Positives: are this book was a solid 4 stars and there is lots of narrative space to talk about Tuff’s cousins aka the herd.
This series really felt done with the last book. I wasn't sure I needed this one, then I read who the woman was and I totally needed this book. There was something about knowing that calf had been so hurt in the last one that made me want to cry. I'm happy to see in this one that Luna is doing good. Of course she is much better when Tuff enters the picture. I loved how they were trapped by snow for a couple of days. It allowed them to really bond, to share secrets and really realize how much both wanted each other.
I liked the ending, loved how the whole herd showed up at Luna's job because they wanted to spend time with her. But the best was Tuff turning a bad thing into a good thing and showing Luna they had all the time in the world ahead of them.

Tuff and Luna were made for each other. She is taming a little of the wildness in him. He is repairing her damaged heart and soul. A fitting end to this miniseries. 4.5 stars
Ohhh, so good!! Tuff and Luna fit together perfectly. (Can't say more or I'll spoil it.) I am so glad we got another book in this series. This author comes up with some totally awesome stories that are filled with emotions. She also writes things that has me laughing out loud. I adore everything I have read that she has written and highly recommend her books.
TS Joyce always puts together laughter, romance, sauciness and intrigue in a story and mixes them all up. I always love her stories because there’s always a zany passionate story involved.
Thank our T. S.Joyce for giving us this story. Since I read the last book I had wondered what became of our little white calf. It is a beautiful story full of hope and peace. I love this book!
This is a quick read that looks at a different side of the bull shifters story. It took me a minute to remember but once I did I thought this was a nice conclusion. Tuff is a wonderful character! He could have started a whole series himself. He is the strong silent type. A watcher. Luna is a cool name and it fits her perfectly. Adding her to the story makes it a nice finish. My only complaint is that her story seemed like a word vomit. (Just to get the info out there).
Overall it is a good story/series ending. There are some things I love about this and others that I didn’t care for the way they were done. But the story is a nice reminder of the Herd and all they went through and seeing an offspring doing his thing just gives me melancholy thoughts. Sad to see this one end.
We get to see the new generation. I really liked the battle of the bulls and I'm happy to see the series is not finished. This last book follows the son of Quickdraw and Annabelle, and we get the surprise that he is not a bull, but a wolf. We also get to see more of another character that we only got to see for a moment in the previous book, and that's Luna, a young victim of the people Wreck was trying to stop. While she was just a little girl she was taken by the same people who took Wreck and experimented on, because of that she ended up deaf. She was always grateful to Quickdraw's herd, and followed them on tv, and she kind of felt connected to them, and to Tuff, even if he wasn't yet born when she was rescued. When she went looking for him they found they were compatible.
It's another typical story of two broken shifters that got whole together, but it was really, really sweet. There was no real drama between them, they were trying their best from the start to fit together, they felt a connection and went after it. They knew it wasn't going to be easy, but they were honest from the start and their animals connected and their human side fought for that connection.
It was a nice epilogue for a series that was good from the start, but now I want to know even more, and see if we can get to find out more about the new generation, there was mention of Tuff's cousins, aka the rest of the herd, but we don't even get their names, it would have been nice to find more about them, can't get enough of them.
Each story was well thought out. This finale of the first offspring all grown up was sweet and compassionate. Each story told of imperfections of each character some very noticeable and others unseen ,but still visible when privy to their inner feelings. Each hero loved his chosen mate unapologetically. I would love to hear about the other offspring as well. T. Joyce showed the cruelty of bigotry and the triumph of human/animal ingenuity heavily sprinkled with romance. So many quotes useful in everyday life. Win win in my book!
I felt it was a bit rushed and didn’t have the witty banter that this author normally has in her books.
Luna was sweet even though life had given her many reasons not to be. She may have been knocked down at a young age, but when she was given a chance at a new life with people who loved her she embraced it.
Tuff was growly and not really a people person. That is of course until Luna makes her way up his driveway because not only is the man immediately taken to her but so is the wolf.
Their first moments are a little rocky but soon a connection is seen in all their interactions. It’s just that that was all there was to the story. It was mostly just the two of them, not even any interaction with Tuff’s parents or the others.
This was a really quick read. It’s sweet, an inst-love with no angst or action. It felt like more of an extended epilogue to the series than a full story. There were even several things mentioned in this that I felt could have been detailed further to make this more of an interesting read.
Overall I was disappointed and after waiting so long to read it, I kind of wish I hadn’t. The rest of the series was far better than this and I don’t think this did the series any justice.
Tuff Enough Fast Burn, son of Quickdraw Slow Burn and Annabelle Faulk (QUICKDRAW SLOW BURN) was born into one of the most famous and baddest herd in the bull bucking world. He looked up to his dad, uncles and aunt Raven aka Hagan's Lace. But there was one problem, he was a wolf like his mother.
He had a career in the circuit as a bronc rider, he was one of the best. Everyone wanted to hate him cause he was that good but when the off-season came around he would dissappear from the spotlight. Living life on his ranch enjoying his downtime.
So when a beautiful woman showed up at his ranch claiming to know him. He had to make sure he wasn't being played with. But as they both got snowed in together, they learned that they were important to each other.
Luna Hagan, a bull shifter who'd been watching Tuff Enough from afar. She had a history with his herd. She wanted to connect with her past and she had a feeling that the reclusive Wolf shifter would be able to help her.
It was great to see old characters making an appearance. Loved all the tidbits about her life after the lab. Tuff Enough found his herd as did Luna <3
TUFF ENOUGH is the fifth and final book in T. S. Joyce's BATTLE OF THE BULLS series. What a phenomenal, heartwarming and intriguing ride. T. S. Joyce did a remarkable job. Two thumbs up! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Loved it 💕💞💕 These two were perfect and sweet. Loved Tuff and I love Luna . Soo good to see the mistreated lil calf to get a happy ending . I love as usual how real and down to earth Ms. Joyce’s characters are. They had some touching moments that really made me smile. I just wish there had been more. More time with the herd that Judy one very short chapter at the end. I wish we’d gotten to see Luna tell Raven what else that had in common . I’d have loved to have heard something about all the other kids from the “herd’ that Luna called his cousins . Almost the whole takes place over a weekend at Tuff’s ranch ,then just a couple of short chapters at the end then the epilogue where she’s proposed to like their human or something . I mean Bull’s don’t bite but wolves do. It’s nit like he could turn her wolf or make her into a “Werecow” or something. So why didn’t he ask her to “mate” him ? Good but what might possibly be our last time in this part of Ms.Joyce’s world I’m just wishing there had been more . A lil too short and too sweet ,you kinda like one of tiny cupcakes 🧁 half the size of a regular one. Good but.... But all that said Thank you 🙏🏻Ms. Joyce,I needed it. Reading hasn’t been much fun lately ,you’ve helped me so much 💞
Quickdraw and Anabelle's baby boy is all grown up and although he didn't turn out a bull like his famous daddy, he is a wolf shifter like his momma and the best bull rider in the circuit, I wanted so bad to read about Tuff and so I did. What I was delightfully surprised was to read about that very scarred calf that Quickdraw carried out of that awful lab that did so much harm to her. She is all grown up now and despite all her hardships, she is one heck of a woman despite the deep scars she carries.
I loved the sweetness of this story, despite being used to the toughness and rowdiness of the previous stories in this series, I surely did not miss at all in this one. As a matter of fact, I was very touched by how completely different Tuff turned out to be, the complete opposite of his father and uncles. But he can take it just as hard as they dish it out as seen at the end of this fantastic series. Luna is a great addition to the herd.
I think and will continue to think that a series should be started showing how the Hagans made out after all the craziness and we will be witness to a very touching reality in this story concerning one of them.
I loved this book of course. Every time I finish a TS Joyce series, I always think to myself, "this one was my favorite!!" But then the next one is just as good!! But I'm thinking this will forever be my favorite series. As always, when she said this one was going to be about bull shifters, I had my doubts. The same doubts she quickly wiped away with her Keepers of the Swamp ALLIGATOR SHIFTERS!!! (Another favorite) Every subject she chooses, just trust her, and enjoy the ride!!! Tuff Enough and Luna were awesome from page one!! My heart broke for Luna when I realized who she was from First Time Train Wreck. The horrors she suffered and survived. Yes, I cried. This one was really short, but it quickly followed First Time, so it was almost like a continuation. All I know is that TS Joyce is an amazing, creative, ubertalented writer that will always be autobuy for me!!! Read the whole series though, starting with Two Shots Down. They CAN be standalone, but soooo much better when read in order.
Turns out there was more story to be had with the Battle of the Bulls series. Tuff Enough is Quickdraw Slow Burns son. However, he isn’t a bull shifter like his father. He got his mother’s wolf shifter abilities instead. He is a rider instead of a bull. Luna Hagan has always felt like an outsider. She went through something truly horrible as a child. She is connected to the crew already. This has her seeking out Tuff Enough. They feel important to each other but could they have a future together? Tuff is suspicious of this girl but can’t help but want to be around her. Can they figure everything out or will Tuff scare her away? Will they crew help him? I love this book so much. It was great to get this little bit more of the crew. T.S. Joyce you have done it again. I can’t say enough about this book or the series. I love the characters so much. I can’t wait for the next series T. S. Joyce writes.
I really wanted to like this one, but it's inclusion didn't make sense or serve much of a purpose to me. The first four are focused on the rodeo and this arch enemy terrorizing shifter bulls. That was solved in book four, and Tuff isn't born by the end, so it was fine to leave the HEA where it was. Fast forwarding to his adulthood to give us Luna does nothing. There's no investment in the story of either character. We could have moved on to any of the other bull shifters competing or in the facility. We could have done like the sons and daughters of beast and Kane and Damon mountains, seeing the history of the community then jumping to adulthood. I would have been okay, but this made no sense and felt both forced and rushed. It would have been better marketed as one of the holiday novellas because there's no conflict. Sooo disappointed Joyce. But given I've read every other novel she's done, this is the first I wasn't feeling.
Tuff Enough – amazing name for a wolf shifter, awesome title for a book
Another outstanding book from T.S. Joyce. It’s a short one and a quick read, but it’s good. The insta-love story of Tuff Enough and Luna. Tuff Enough Fast Burn, a wolf shifter like his mother Annabelle, is the son of Quickdraw Slow Burn from Ms. Joyce’s third book in the bull shifter series. If you were quick to read Train Wreck and Tuff Enough back to back, you know Luna is the calf in the laboratory.
Because the book was so short, I did not get the indepth character background I love. And that’s okay. When I read Train Wreck, I wanted to know what happened to the little white calf. I’m glad T.S. Joyce answered my question. I would love if she’d start another bull shifter series starring the Hagan’s bulls. A delightful book to finish the series.
What a perfect story to end the bull shifter series. We've gone forward in time and Turf Enough is grown and a champion rider. His animal came from his Mom and he's a wolf shifter. He owns a ranch and in the down time he trains horses. One day a truck and travel trailer shows up out of the blue. Luna has brought her horse to Tuff to train. She hides one side of her scarred face from him. She's missing an ear and as a result is deaf but she's learned to read lips. There's instant attraction between them. Tuff learns that she was the calf who was experimented on. She's a Hagan cow but is also missing one of her horns. She views herself as ugly and broken but Tuff sees her as beautiful. It's a beautiful story of love and acceptance and I loved it.
The son of Quickdraw. Tuff Enough has had all the love and support from his herd growing up. He's gone a different way since he wasn't born a bull but a wolf. I actually wanted more of his story. We get a small part which works okay I just wanted more. Luna was sweet and was saved as a calf. I don't want to ruin the story so I won't say anything else. This was pretty short and feels a little unfinished or maybe it's because it was fast and ended fast too. I think it could have been filled out more but perhaps this was just a little story rolling around in her head. This is just how it came out. I'm not disappointed perse but I feel kinda almost full but not quite if you understand what I mean?
Nice closure overall but not quite sure why we get Tuff’s story and will not be getting any of the other next generation. They are mentioned as cousins but no names or how many there are. I also do not believe Luna would be able to talk as well as she does. She lost her hearing as a small child, so would have not yet learnt the correct way to sound out words. Wonderful to know retribution was delivered to those who deserved it from the main series. Lovely having the adults from the series all turn up to meet Luna properly and the field of tulips was a beautiful thought. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
A wolf shifter and bull shifter puts their broken pieces back together.
A beautiful but sad end to a wonderful story of bull shifters finding their true love. More over realising being broken is beautiful and worthy. T. S. Joyce books are uplifting and powerful. No matter how much you laugh and cry, at the end you are smiling feeling all gooey inside. I truly recommend her books but please note to too truly enjoy these stories read from book 1. They are fun and entertaining.
Oh my gosh, the surprise book TS Joyce was talking about is here and it’s the final one for the bulls😢 I’m going to miss this herd❣️Loved this story and looking forward to see what’s next up by Ms Joyce❤️
Tuff Enough is the son of Quickdraw and Annabelle and he’s a wolf shifter. He’s a lone wolf and when Luna rocks up at his ranch, he can honestly say it’s the first time he’s been at peace with his animal😳But they have to help each other overcome their pasts and insecurities. Luna has some baggage and a secret as well😳
Tuff and Luna's story made me cry because having read the entire series...I knew her history and that was so sad. Luna proves to be one of the toughest of the women. I wish this author would have given them a longer and more developed story. Ruff became so in tuned with her disability that it was so heartwarming! This was more of a short novel than a full story. It was really good though. I just wanted a longer story and more developed. I hope this author makes a new series with the cousins.
And all is right as rain. I am going to miss this group of ppl/shifters. It's a good thing you can take some time to get away from your daily activities, and escape to a world where along the way there is a happy ending...loved it J S you did it again getting me hooked to a series and sad to see it end..but what about the other kids in the herd..is there going to be more to this series. I really want to know who had kids and what they turned out to be..anyway I really love reading your book...big fan as always Winzie19🤗💞.
This book is ok. I wouldn't read it as a stand alone and I wouldn't have read it at all if I hadn't bought it after I read the first book. It's got the compressed timeline you'd expect in a novella and it's not about the rodeo circuit at all. The only connection to the prior books is Tuff's parents are the pair in book 3 and the heroine is one of the cows rescued from the lab in the last book. The core herd group show up right at the end, but other than that this is basically a romance that happens to have shifters in it rather than a shifter romance.
Tuff Enough was a wonderful culmination of this series. I love how it brought everything together. We first meat Luna in the last book, Train Week's story. Luna was just a calf Stuff was still a bun in his momma's oven. The two of them finding their way to each other brought it all full circle I just wish there was more. I hate saying goodbye to this awesome group of cowboys. I look forward to reading whatever T.S. Joyce writes next. I'm sure it will be another keeper. Just as they have all been. I'll be waiting to hear what's next.
First off I love the characters that this author writes. This book was a small sweet slice of life in the series. I would have liked more, it was way to short and it didn't take me on the journey of Tuff's life like I wanted. Why was his wolf so out of control? Why did he feel so alone when he had his family? And why did Luna wait so long to find the person who rescued her? oh and why did she still have dreams? There was so much more that could have been added to make this book as good as the others. Sometimes rushed stories aren't as good as they could be..this is one.
I just finished this whole series and cannot say enough how much I enjoyed it the character development is fantastic I enjoyed learning about all of the different characters involved and their quirks . I Truely love TS Joyce's stories I have ready 99% of them if not all and have never been disappointed . I wish the proof reader was a little better at catching miss prints but its not awful just noticeable. Cannot wait to read New stuff and even reread older books . Thank you for your talent TS Joyce .
It is definitely the best ending to this series...although if we met the rest of his rowdy cousins it wouldn't be a bad thing. Hint, hint! You must read the previous books to get maximum enjoyment, but why wouldn't you when they are all such interesting characters? I laughed. I cried. I wanted it to not end because these stories were just so good. Just read it. You won't regret it.
