Sexy as sin, tastes like whisky, rides a motorcycle. He is the man your father warned you about. Too handsome, too tall, too smooth. The rumor is, he’s done something dark in the past that he doesn’t want to talk about. But he’s about to shake up my small town life up like a snow globe.
Because after one ride home on the back of his bike, my life will never be the same again. Zach’s about to take me on a roller coaster ride adventure.
Turns out, sometimes real love comes in the most unexpected, and complex, packages.
I just never thought I could be the girl who makes a man like Zach Reid fall in love.
It all starts with a ride home on a hot summer night.
Hi, there! My name is Mickey Miller and I write sexy, fun romance with smart characters. My books are great if you're looking for a light-hearted, steamy read with some humor and a happy ending! Happy reading!
Holy revving motor, if this cover isn’t enough to get you to read this book, I don’t know what is. Add to that a male writer who knows his way around a romance and a broody, enigmatic hero with a heart of gold and we have the ultimate reading escape.
Zach and Harmony are two lost souls that call to the other. Harmony's voice mesmerizes Zach and fixes something inside him. The first time he hears her perform it's in front of a handful of patrons in a dive bar, but he believes to the depths of his soul that Harmony belongs on an arena stage, sharing her gift and singing for thousands.
Harmony looks beyond the tough, tattooed exterior and prison record and sees the beautiful, generous heart of Zach. They both have a lot of baggage, but they find themselves leaving it behind in Blackwell and hitting the road on Zach's bike, heading to Nashville.
Mickey Miller's work is great fun to read, and each book seems to be better than the last. With an engaging storyline, beautifully bruised and dented but innately loveable characters, the perfect balance of humor and heart, and a heat level set to scorching, this fun, heartfelt romance is one you don’t want to miss!
The Ride is a fun, fast read. I read this book when it was Biker with Benefits and now it has been reworked and is a little different.
In this story we have Zach and Harmony, two very different people who meet by chance and are made for each other.
Zach has a great guy but he has a past to overcome and issues to deal with. Harmony is an aspiring singer who has her own issues. Mainly family. They meet and have instant attraction and chemistry. Both want more from life and want to make things happen for themselves. So they take a road trip and start a new life. There are ups and downs for sure. But will they make it work?
The Ride has angst and drama and passion and love and hot steamy scenes. Zach was hot and even with his issues, I loved his character. Both him and Harmony weren’t perfect, but they were both great individually and together.
This was another amazing book from Mickey Miller. This one though touched me like no other had. It left me wanting more. You take love that was destined from the beginning, a man who loves riding his bike and cooking . Has been through so much in his life and just wants to not be looked at like a convict anymore. Then he hears Harmony. The most angelic voice ever. Harm is so easy to adapt to, and to want to protect. There were so many instances that I just wanted to scream at the book in a form of protection. This story will touch you and make you feel, because you see such devotion coming from both MC's. I loved it the first time I read it and love it even more now.
This is a must read and definitely on my Top 3 list of Mickey Miller books. Cherries on top is the lyrics that Mickey wrote to the songs that Harm had originated. Better Copyright those lyrics. ;)
I remember when I read this back when it was called Biker with Benefits and it was good then and it's good now but it's been revamped up to make it sound more realistic and the steamy scenes are even hotter and not to mention this is about Zach and Harmony two characters that have such chemistry that's off the charts hot. If you like rom-coms that has humor and lots of steam then I highly recommend you read this book.
A quick read, mostly because the book just seems to flow from one chapter to the next. This book was a sweet ride. Zach & Harmony seemed to follow their hearts and make their own choices rather than follow the opinions of others. They didn’t let anything hold them back from living the life they wanted to live. I felt like they both got closure with their parents, their pasts, and were set up well for their future. It’s nice to see all that happen in one storyline. I do wonder if we’ll ever hear more from Andrew? I would like that maybe a random book about a sexy photographer.
"You've happened to me for a reason. That much I know. I don't know what the future holds. But a lot has changed since you've come into my life. For the better."
Ok, so what girl doesn't like a bad biker boy with a past? Hmmm? I know, if I could re-live my youth, I wouldn't have minded a little time with Zach, no siree!!
Zach Reid has a reputation in Blackwell, and not a good one. He made a wrong decision once. One made for the right reason, but wrong none the less. He's paid his dues, but he can't escape the stares, the whispers, the image painted of him as a criminal. At the end of his rope and buying in to everything they all say about him, SHE happens. The angel with the voice of salvation. Could she be the one to finally save him from himself?
Harmony Lane had it all. A life in Nashville. A man who loved her(or so she thought). A promising song-writing career. Now, she's back home in Blackwell after losing it all. A chance meeting with the sexy biker suddenly changes her whole path. Everyone is warning her to stay away from him, but for the life of her she just can't. Could it be that their two broken souls can mend each other? Will she be able to chase her dreams with him by her side, or will she have to let him go?
I loved Zach and Harmony's love story. Their journey from broken to whole was amazing!
I absolutely loved this book. The story was amazingly well written. That's not surprising because Mickey Miller never disappoints.
Zach made some mistakes in his past that he definitely paid for. Harmony was hunted by a dream gone wrong, lies and deception.
These two souls were meant for each other. So different yet the same. Being misunderstood, judged, treated like they would never do better or become better versions of themselves.
I loved their connection, the way they fought for each other. The road wasn't easy but they continued to find a way, to overcome the fear and hardships.
The steam was crazy good. There's this one part, one word (BAR). If you've read it, you know what I'm talking about. 🙌🔥👀
Amazing story from beginning to end. Harmony and Zach are characters that you fall in love with. You root for them. When everything comes together, it puts a smile on your face.
This was so good I didn't want it to end. The Ride starts out in the literal sense, with Harmony accepting a ride home after her gig from a beautiful enigmatic stranger called Zach. However, soon enough her friends and family are all warning her away from him due to the mistakes of his past. He starts to open up with her and she immediately sees there is more to him than meets the eye.
They spontaneously take a road trip on his motorcycle from Blackwell to Nashville and try their luck at reinventing themselves in a new town. The heat factor is turned up nice and high with this one. I loved that Zach has so many layers, he has been pre judged by everyone for making a huge mistake in his past and just wants a fresh start. Harmony has her own life lessons she is trying not to repeat, but they really did make a fantastic couple. This was a great romance that kept me thoroughly engaged from start to finish. I loved it.
This book is fire! Misjudged bad boy meets naïve music singer. She deserves to be a star and needs to find her voice when off the stage. He needs to trust that not everyone will leave! The book is set in the Mickey Miller Verse starting in Blackwell but traveling out. It has some characters from prior books but is very much a standalone. And the chemistry is fire... I won’t spoil but some of the scenes may burn your cheeks. The book has been re-edited and recovered for 2021 as it was originally part of stories in Blackwell and well...this story couldn’t be contained in city limits! This book is well worth the ride!
Another must read by Mickey. I read this in one sitting.
Zach has been trying to stay out of trouble since he left jail, when he stops into a bar after hearing a voice while riding, there he meets Harmony . This is where both of their lives change. When two very different world collide will they be able to survive or will their differences tear them apart? Once again Mickey takes you on an amazing journey , from their first meeting till the very last page you will want to keep reading until the very last page. These two have amazing chemistry right from the start.
This is the revamped version of Biker with Benefits, which i had previously read too, i loved the original version and i loved this one just as much. I love all of these authors books and this was no different.
Harmony Lane is a struggling Singer/Songwriter, she has seen what happens when you trust someone, but she will never give up her dreams no matter who stands in her way. When She crosses paths with Zach Reid she never realizes how much he will change her life. Zach Reid is a man trying to turn his life around but it seems like his past sins will haunt him no matter what he does until one night he hears the voice of an angel and he knows that just might be the turning point in his life. Zach & Harmony might have an explosive connection but everyone will try to keep them apart, they will have to overcome so many obstacles to prove to everyone that they not only should be together but that they can find a HEA with a lot of determination.
✔️New Title ✔️New Cover ✔️Storyline Tweaked = Classic Mickey Miller Read Revamped and ready to be enjoyed.
I read this book awhile back when it was titled Biker With Benefits. If you have read his Blackwell Series, a few of my favorites make appearances. This is a coming of age, second chance in life, enjoying the ride with someone who gets you, and reaching for your dreams read.
Zach’s life has been turned upside down by one poor, although with good intentions, mistake. One night as he rides his bike to clear his mind, he feels a pull to The Hungry Bear.
“Ever have the feeling that you need some thing in your life, but you’re not sure what that something is yet? That’s where I’m at tonight. That’s why am on my bike. For me. And for meditative purposes. And escape.”
Inside he is blown away by the singer, her powerful voice penetrating straight into his soul.
Harmony is home after years of being in Nashville attending Vanderbilt and trying to make a name for herself. When her boyfriend betrays her, she comes home to Blackwell. When she finds herself stranded and the ridiculously sexy Zach offers her a ride home, she tries to decide if she can trust her instant attraction to him.
One ride turns into an unlikely friendship. One that Harmony’s friends and family do not support because of Zach’s history. As their relationship moves quickly and they open up to each other with their truths, they realize just how in sync with one another they are.
Knowing that they both need a do-over and Blackwell is not the place that it will happen- they decide to make their own fate-together.
This is an easy, low angst, high on heat, fast passed read. Zach and Harmony are young and in need of someone to believe in them. Both of them are held back by their pasts until they set each other free. Their chemistry is HOT and oh boy- there are some very steamy scenes 😉
Another awesome book by Mickey Miller! This is one book that you NEED to READ—you won’t regret it. I enjoyed reading this fun, sweet, but sexy story—an engaging story that will keep you enthralled and glued to the pages of this fascinating storyline at the same time it was unputdownable. This is a story of two people finding acquiescence with themselves and with one another. This story is heart-felt in its emotional highs and lows of the main character’s struggles as they help each other try to get what they each need. Set in a small town called Blackwell, this is Zach Reid and Harmony Lane’s story. Zach is a very handsome, sexy as hell, tattooed biker, and he served a couple of years in jail. Harmony plays the guitar and is a singer. Both Zach and Harmony must battle with their responsibilities and issues from their past, yet they are so good together. What happens next? Read Zach and Harmony’s journey—it is one hell of a rollercoaster ride! A heart-wrenching yet ultimately uplifting story of love, hurt, intrigue, commitment, and hope—a captivating view of the best and worst of humanity. Yet the crazy attraction they both have for each other—the chemistry is off-the-chart hot! This story is entertaining and fervent, with a dash of dreams coming true. There are several twists and turns within the storyline that will pique your interest—you will not be disappointed. Mickey Miller manages to weave plot lines centered on romantic ideas with artfully developed main characters. You won’t regret reading The Ride. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Get ready for a fabulous ride that is full of hope, promise and dreams mixed with just a little bit of drama and angst. Harmony and Zach will capture your heart from the very beginning and have you believing in fate. Mickey Miller has done a wonderful job with this book. Harmony has dreams of being a songwriter and singer. Zach has plans of one day opening a restaurant of his own. Outside forces think Zach is no good for Harmony and try everything they can to keep them apart. Harmony sees Zach like no one else does. Zach supports Harmony's dreams when others think she will never cut it in the music world. This is such a wonderful story. Entertaining and full of romance and the chemistry between Zach and Harmony sizzles throughout the whole book. I really enjoyed this book and the HEA was excellent.
Zach Reid made a mistake and went to prison for it. He's been out for a year and working two jobs to keep himself out of trouble. He lives with his very supportive grandparents. One night he's especially sad and goes for a ride on his Harley. He happens upon a small bar in Podunk and stops for a drink. It's there that he discovers Harmony playing her guitar and singing with the voice of an angel. She needs a ride home and he takes her on his Harley despite her grave reservations about riding with a stranger.
Harmony Lane plays every Thursday night at this bar. She lives with her dad, stepmother, and sister. She's been very unhappy living back in Blackwell. She had been in Nashville a couple years ago with another boyfriend who stole a song she wrote and recorded it. The song became a huge hit and this broke her spirit.
Lots of people try hard to keep them apart but it was meant to be. They leave for Nashville on his Harley. Great hot storyline. Especially liked the interactions with her ex. Plenty of drama. I read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down
Zach is a loner as he assimilates back into life after serving time, not a social butterfly by any means to begin with because of how he grew up but after his release he was even more so. Harmony is going through some tough times in her life, ex stole from her, she's living back at home with a stepmother who is just "delightful" and struggling to find her place in the music business, all clues for a knight to come riding in on his noble steed, right? Zach may be a loner but he can't walk away from a damsel in distress especially when her singing lures him to her, pulling him in so when Harmony is stranded a needs a ride he's there to give her a ride. This story has a lot going on, but when is life not complicated right? Zach has his own hang-ups and unexpected deep feelings for Harmony throws him into a protective role yet is he ready for it? Harmony is in a whirlwind of emotions and new ventures just trying to be a twenty-three year old woman living parents' house rules. This story has it all: heat, humor, great characters, a fun read!
Once again, Mickey Miller delivers a novel full of well-developed (and amazing!) characters, a storyline that holds your attention, and a love story that will have you swooning.
Zach and Harmony are two polar opposites in every way--she's innocent and sweet, he's an ex-con who is trying to find his way back to normalcy. But when these two come together--there's fireworks and passion that will leave you wanting more, and flipping through the pages because you can't put the book down
Harmony was told to stay away from Zach for so many reasons, but when true love rules the heart, it's hard to ignore the pull.
Mickey Miller did an amazing job with these two characters, and I can't wait to see what he comes up with next!
Another amazing book from this amazing author. This is the well written story of Zach and Harmony. This couple will take you on a roller coaster of a ride. This story is heart breaking but with lots of love. This story has it all love, hurt, intrigue and hope. These two characters have instant chemistry between them. The love story between Zach and Harmony goes from broken and heart breaking to whole and filled with love. Another must read book from this author.
I was given an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review www.obsessedbookreviews.com
According to Merriam-Webster... Ride Synonyms: Verb bait, hassle, haze, heckle, needle, taunt, tease Synonyms: Noun lift, transportation
I believe that every one of those words above applies to this book. When Zach first hears and sees Harmony for the first time it's a tease to his whole mind, body and soul. Then he gets to take her, literally, for a ride on his motorcycle. The hassle happens next when everyone tries to steer Harmony away from Zach because of his past that she had yet to discover. The needling is the part where Zach gushes over Harmony for her musical talents and then the opposite with her bitter stepmother. The bait is what Roddy does to Harmony to steal more of her hard word. In the end, I do love Karma and a grand HEA.
Oh, and let's not forget about the extremely smoking hot scene during the boudoir photo shoot. I had to wipe my Kindle off so I could finish reading.
This was such a fantastic book and total must read. I binged this book so hard.
If light is in your heart, you will find your way home...
They say music tames the savage beast within. That is exactly what happens to Zach Reid. He hears an angelic voice in the wind while riding his motorcycle and follows it to a bar where a young woman named Harmony was singing. In that moment his life changed for him.
Harmony takes a chance with the sexy gorgeous stranger and accepts an offer of a ride to take her home. Zach was impossible to resist. He had a smirk that would melt the panties off any woman. He was an enigma to Harmony and she felt compelled to want to try and breach his walls. He had a past that was stifling his soul. Harmony was the light to his dark. Zach found himself dropping his barriers for her and taking a risk to let her in. This is an emotional love romance that surprises both Zach and Harmony.
If they can both overcome their pasts, they can then see a future they both need and desire. Their chemistry is intense but so are their new found feelings of love for each other.
Hot, sweet and totally swoon worthy. This story with turns and twists that will give you whiplash, and a powerful couple who defy everything and everyone, came to be originally as a collaboration between the author and his readers The Misfits. Howeve, Mickey Miller has taken the original version and reinvented it to fit his more mature writing style and it shows. The plot and the characters have gain a more powerful and deeper countenance making their relationship more meaningful and engaging. However no matter how many changes this story has gone through, it is impossible not categorized it, yet again, as a page-turning experience which will melt your heart and make you believe in love at first sight and hope for the future. The Ride is without a doubt another of Millers must-read stories.
This book was spectacular due to Zach and Harmony and their amazing chemistry. You could feel their strong connection from the moment they met and it was easy to see how strong their connection grew as they faced their problems and worked towards their goals. Their sexual chemistry was off the charts and this book had some amazing scenes that were unique and hot!
Harmony and Zach were each other's perfect match and worked to help build and grow one another. From the beginning of their relationship their strong bond helped them work towards their goals and through their individual problems from their family, friends and past. Their story was beautiful because of the mutual respect you could feel from both of them and can make you wish you had what they had! This book is a must read for any Mickey Miller fans or anyone who is looking for another amazing author!
A sexy revamp of an already sexy Mickey Miller book. This sexy cover is enough to pull you in. Harmony and Zach were made for each other the other. It may not be what everyone else wants to see but their connection to each other they can't deny. Zach is ready for a fresh start and Harmony finds herself needing a friend. The chemistry between these two are off the charts. This book is a steamy read that will pull you in. Their story bad boy meats singer who learn they need to come out of their comfort zones to learn about each other and what makes the other tick These two souls are meant to be together. Both have dreams and don't want to let go of them. This book will take you on a ride that won't disappoint.
This book is a must read Mickey's books never disappoint.
What another home run, hit out of the ballpark, 5 star read from Mickey Miller. Zach Reid and Harmony Lane make a fantastic duo. Zach is a hot biker that offers Harmony a ride home after her singing gig at a bar. To Zach, she has the voice of an Angel. Zach is an ex-con trying to start fresh. Harmony is a scorned singer songwriter that was betrayed by her ex boyfriend. They both have things to overcome. Harmony was warned to stay away from Zach due to his reputation. All Zach wanted was a fresh start. Together they head out of Blackwell to chase their dreams. I highly recommend this read. I absolutely loved it so much. I think you will too!
Zach has a bad reputation, just out of prison and trying to find his way. Then he hears the voice of an angel singing, calling to him, and it leads him to Harmony. When they meet they have an instant chemistry and attraction for each other. Zach gives Harmony a ride home, one ride that changes everything. Their story takes you on one wild ride, it’s emotional, heartwarming, steamy, and filled with angst, drama, humor, and love. A terrific story from start to finish and one I definitely recommend.
The Ride was an amazing read beginning to end. Harmony is everything Zach needed and had no idea he needed until he found her. This book gave me the feeling of falling in love all over again as we revisited some familiar characters from previous Mickey Miller stories. Zach sure does know how to thrill Harmony in more ways than one. Oh yes and he can also get her there quite nicely if you know what I mean. I love how they help each other escape and grow from past issues and struggles. So if you think you can handle the journey, go ahead and take this ride full throttle and you will not regret it. 🙂.
I really enjoyed Zach and Harmony's story. I thought they were each quite likable and I felt that there was a stark realism to them that made them extremely relatable and easy to connect with. As romance brews between them, things to get sweet, steamy and filled with drama. My heart ached for them due to the baggage they each carried and the obstacles that keep getting in their way. I must admit that I loved how they kept rising to the challenge though. This is the kind of book that gives your emotions a workout because it's not just about love and romance. It's is about life and all the good and bad that goes along with it. This is my unbiased, unsolicited review.
This was a wonderful re-vamping of a previously published Mickey Miller book. It was such a refreshing read. Heartwarming, sexy, and powerful. Zach and Harmony have an undeniable connection. After an encounter, which can only have been fate, Zach and Harmony are entwined in each other’s worlds. Zach, an ex-con, recently released and trying to find his way. Harmony, a scorned singer, just following her dream. Their support of each other is awe inspiring. Their chemistry is off the charts. This book sucked me in and left me satisfied in the best of ways. Another Mickey Miller win!
Hold on tight as you rev your engines and get ready to head off on a journey with Zach and Harmony.
The world is still in chaos and my life may have just been turned upside down with little capturing my interest as much as ‘The Ride’ did in the last month. This story just stuck a chord with me and I could not put it down.
I highly recommend this title and author Mickey Miller!
I received a free copy of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
