The Beast of Powder Valley

Rate this book
Charles was a wealthy entrepreneur with a vision. Gary and Jenny were trying to save their marriage. Jackson wanted to rebuild his fortune…and his confidence. Brent was a consultant with a secret. Jimmy was armed, dangerous, and on the run. And Glenn was a Sheriff seeking solace and vengeance. When billionaire Charles Bilham set his sights on finding a piece of land to develop in western North Carolina, he hired Brent Wisener to find it for him. When he settled on an old logging property in a remote part of the Appalachians, he decided to not only go see it for himself, but to invite his two best friends along for an impromptu winter hiking adventure. Little did any of them know that both the property's owner and their hired guide shared a dangerous secret, one that would throw the entire group into a desperate quest for survival. The Beast of Powder Valley tells the story of a group of people that must try to overcome an ever-expanding set of challenges, both personal and peripheral…and a legendary creature that wants them all dead.

This beast will keep you reading on and on...

What an exciting ride! Beautiful land for sale perfect for a ski resort. The potential buyers arrive to hike the land to insure that it will be perfect for their plans only to discover a creature lurking in the shadows. A creature that does not want their plans to be achieved. The characters will draw you in and the side plots come together in a battle to survive against a creature they no nothing about. This is one you won't want to put down.

What things happen in the darkest of woods!!

At times when you go out into the woods, you feel like someone or something is watching you. In this story there was something watching them. They were trespassing in it's domain. I won't go any further, with anymore information. You have to pick up this book yourself. To find out what happens! From fear and fright the people felt to the anger and hatred of the creature in woods. So be careful when you enter the woods, if you feel like someone or something is watching you. If I were you, I'd think twice about it.
Yes I would recommend others to read this book. Just watch out for the nightmares that will haunt you. Enjoy!! 😱😲😵😧😨😰

I enjoyed this book. The the first glimpse of the creature was in 1939 when it drove a logging company from it's mountain. Present day finds the same creature 83 years later still there protecting his domain. I wish the chapters would have been numbered and counted down the amount of time left in a chapter instead of the entire book.

This story reminded me why I started reading Bigfoot books. Fun, exciting, non-stop action made this an easy and quick read. The stalking of the characters was a bit tense - just the way I like it.

Main characters were interesting and well-defined. The location sounded heavenly which made me root a little for Bigfoot because I hate how so much of the beauty in the world is exploited for profit. But I also liked and rooted for the characters for the most part.

This is one of those rare books I could see myself re-reading in a couple years.

Excellent Suspense

This book was very suspenseful. I enjoyed that. And the characters were interesting and—human. I could see through their eyes and feel their emotions. I would have liked a bit more background on the beast. But maybe there’s a sequel.

Exciting Read

This is not my normal genre but I enjoyed this book. I'm usually a murder mystery book lover. But this came up as a suggestion so I tried it.. I liked the characters and it moved fast. I would definitely read a sequel or another book by this author. Try it .

I love a good Sasquatch book.

This one was fun, exciting and a great mix of thriller, horror and crime all bundled into one. A little disappointed and sad at the end, but was overall a great read!

It is a creature feature

When I got this book I thought it was going to be a werewolf story, but it wasn't it was Bigfoot. The storyline was simple four "friends" to to look at a property one of them wants to develop into a ski resort. Simple enough however the owner of the property forgets to tell them about the creature that roams the area so it is going to be fun hiking in the woods for a couple of days to check out the property. Then we add some marriage problems, a desperate ex-convict, and the landowner, who suddenly gets brave and we have a good exciting story.
