Elemental Fae Academy #1

Königin der Elemente: Buch Eins

Rate this book

I tell myself with every RH read that I'm done. There's only so much uniqueness you can find when reading a new RH book. Don't even get me started on this "Academy" trend in RH. So unoriginal, everything is so clear cut. You get the mean girls, you can't escape the mean girls. You get the girls jealous of the outsider taking their men, not to forget that the outsider is usually the greatest thing, with all the powers that has been prophesied a bajillion year ago. Oh and there's the guy in the harem who doesn't want to be in the harem but when you read the next book, is so happy to be in the harem and waxes poetics all through.

That's how they all are and I know because I just read a book like that a couple of days ago. Somehow I still get suckered by the mediocrity. I might read the next book, I might not. I already know what to expect from it so until then.

Oh my, this was just so Fabulous!!!
Really wasn't sure if this was going to be my thing especially since reverse-harem is a bit hit and miss for me well this for me was a sure hit.
I absolutely bloody adored this, these authors have smashed it out the park with there contribution to this Paranormal collection and I for one can't wait for the next piece of this addictive and magical tale.
This story involves Clare a halfling who has no idea of her origins, raised on earth as a mortal by her paternal grandparents her powers kickstart on the eve of her 21st birthday.
Whisked off to the Fae realm by the delectable but oh so arrogant Exos a powerful Royal Spirit Fae who has been assigned as her protector.
Add into the mix Titus a Fire Fae who Clare also feels an instant connection to and we have some definite fireworks.
So this really hooked my attention and I am so looking forward to experiencing more of this fascinating world in the near future.
An imaginative undertaking that was extremely well written as well as being hot as Hades.

So having originally read the first part of this in the anthology it was in earlier this year I was ever so excited to get stuck into the rest of the story.
I reread this from the beginning just to get the whole entire experience in one go and part 2 most certainly lived up to my set prior expectations.
This was just so enthralling and I enjoyed every minute especially the natural progression of Clare's relationships with her Fae mate's Titus and Exos.
I was also intrigued to see certain individuals being added tentatively to the current mix and I am looking forward to seeing how this dynamic evolves somewhat going forward.
In terms of heat, I would describe this reverse harem as a medium build and it manages to stoke the flames higher and higher to a level akin with total combustion.
Filled with fire and spirit and empathetic emotion throughout this is a sensual and engrossing read: one that I really do recommend highly: It really was such a breath of fresh air.
And my god that finale I really need the next book like yesterday and I will be holding my breath in total anticipation until it's in my greedy mitts.
for further clarification, this review is now for the whole story which has now been released in its complete entirety.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Elemental Fae Academy.

Annoying

I was about two chapters away from the finish line and thought if I rolled my eyes any harder they'd stay back there. Our main character is a blushing tulip, who has the worse "poor me issues" going on . There is so much tears! And this book is so damn repetitive! Omg how does this have such high ratings? This chick was annoying with a capital A. I was confused when we meet a girl who can take a bet with friends to kiss a stranger in a bar, yet right after we get a scared childlike women? Who cries, runs away, hates herself, blames everyone for everything, listens to bratty chicks and has tons of meltdowns! And this folks in the entire book! There seemed to be a good story here, and that's why I decided to continue with this torture but a women like myself can only take so much

Exos is hot! Titus is HOT! I love how fascinating the Fae’s little world is and how these two hot and hotter guys help Claire navigate around, train and mentor her. I need book 2 in this series!

well this was fun.

Claire is a halfling (half fae) who has the power of all 5 elements: fire, water, air, earth and spirit. She is supposedly the one who will free or end all fae from the curse her mother created.

This is a RH story with 5 guys, but as of this book there’s only 2 and a half guys as her mate. I’m sure the others will join next book.

This wasn’t very plot driven. It was mostly sex, sexual tension and lust lmao. There is a bit of story, but just expect a girl being horny as fuck and her mates happy to oblige. I’m not complaining.

I actually don’t love Claire, I can’t connect well with her, she just cried a lot. It was annoying, but I’m intrigued. I don’t trust Elana, so there’s that. The books aren’t long, so I’ll keep going :)

Sigh

Annoying and whining. Two words that sum this book up. The mc cries.... a lot and is extremely fickle. At like 28% I was ready to beat all of them with a emotional stick just to help them sort it out a bit. Geesus

DNF Rage quit at 55%. May come back later if the author’s other books are solid but this book is making me mad.

Claire the MC has so far shown exactly zero qualities that would make her an interesting or a worthwhile MC.

Is she kind? Nope ❌
Is she smart? HELL NO ❌‼️
Does she react realistically? Maybe… but the reaction is obnoxious ☢️ Weeping and rage acting out NON STOP is not a good look or endearing in any way.
Does she respond to situations appropriately? Nope❌ See above.

Is she entitled? ✅
Is she constantly throwing the biggest most winey pity party? ✅
Is she a bit of a bitch overall? ✅
Does she blame everyone but herself for her own issues? ✅ zero culpability for this chick.

So Claire sucks hard core, what about her men?

They also suck but less so.

First Exos, the “prince/king” of the alleged “Fae” (see below why quotes)

Exos has no redeeming qualities either, he’s bland, wishy washy in what little personality he has, and also an idiot. The fact he’s royalty is supposed to mean everyone defers and respects him etc. we are TOLD this repeatedly, but we are shown a very different reality. Literally no one gives a fuck he’s royalty, bratty students feel like they can tell him where to shove it and no one behaves as if he has any power. It’s absolutely ridiculous how feeble he seems when we are beaten over the head with how ‘powerful and respected’ he’s supposed to be.

Next Titus:

He’s fine I guess? Also 180 on his personality within the parts of the book I read. But he sucks less than Exos I guess. Also an idiot.

River? I guess maybe he will be in the harem later?? Sucks less than the other two because he had no page time for the first part of the book. Not a loyal friend but no indication yet he’s an idiot.

Ok and that’s all the people I can comment on.

What about world building? Pretty non existent. 2/5 ⭐️ on that scale. We have FAE with “iron gates” why bother making them Fae if you literally give them zero fea characteristics?? What is the point!? Call them something else, these magical pointy eared people have no traditional characteristics of Fae.
I get artistic license when it comes to fantasy creatures but you can’t strip out EVERY common aspect of a species and call them that. It’s like calling a cowboy a centaur. That’s not how this works 🤦‍♀️.

If you can’t tell from my rant, this book makes me angry. Mainly because I really wanted to like it.

As some other reviews noted, this was pretty much a predictable formulaic reverse harem academy romance, but honestly, the academy setting was barely there and only a conveyance to allow the FMC Claire to meet her mates and start off some mean girl drama. I wished that there were actually more classes about how the fae learned how to use their elemental magic rather than read about Claire's (supposedly) panicked uncontrollable issues with powerful magic.

Her damsel-in-distress routine was very repetitive, and I found the insta-lust to be very distracting and inconsistent. The Spirit Prince Exos was originally characterized to be very stern and strict, but he quickly fell into a hot lusty mess when convenient. Claire had mentioned that she didn't like being intimate with men until they established a solid foundation, but of course the fae mating bond threw this all out the window.

Overall world and character development was very shallow which didn't make for a very satisfying read, but I am intrigued enough to want to know who the evil villain is (even though I have a good guess) and what the true history of the Spirit Fae catastrophe is that I will be checking out the next book.

OH MY GOD THIS IS MY NEW OBSESSION!!
Claire and Titus have my entire heart, I really love them, and honestly they have something different that makes me love them, I just don’t know what it is yet.
Also can we talk about that threesome? I wasn’t expecting that at all. I’m still shocked.
I’m ready to read the second book right now because I need more content because I need them and I’m loving this series way too much.
Please guys, read this amazing book, it’s incredible.

This series starts off GREAT. The magic is interesting, I like where the world building is going, and I continuously want more. I think the characters are fun and feel unique from one another as well.
The thing is, even though I rate book 1 and 2 at 5 stars, I DNF'd book 3 because it just became so sex heavy. Like, do it whatever, but can we stop being distracted from the story and the huge mysteries????
Just ended up not being my thing unfortunately.

I received a free audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

That was so much fun!! I absolutely binged this book, and I didn't want it to end. I'm ready for book 2 right now.

This book starts off in the fae realm with a council of elders meeting to decide the fate of a half-human, half-fae changeling who is rumored to have an affinity for all five elements. If the prophecy is to be believed, she'll either save the world or destroy it. They begrudgingly agree to bring Claire to the fae realm and train her at the Academy. When Prince Exos goes to retrieve her, it does NOT go well.

My one piece of advice: Never kiss a stranger.

When Claire is dared to kiss a handsome stranger at the bar, she decides why not I should live a little. Unfortunately for her, she ends up accidentally incinerating the whole bar and is kidnapped to a realm she never knew existed. Even though Exos tries to explain what has happened, his condescending nature does not endear him to Claire. Claire's newly unlocked powers are constantly erupting with her volatile emotions and Exos is having zero luck. When he recruits the fire elemental Titus to help him, things go much better.

Things are very different in the fae realm however, because Claire is bonded to both of these men after sharing a kiss. She can't help but feel a deep attraction to them, especially when her elemental powers respond so viscerally. As Claire navigates her powers and the dangers of attending the Academy, she becomes closer to the boys and learns about a world she never knew existed.

I enjoyed this book so freaking much. I cannot wait to read book 2. I didn't realize this was going to be a reverse harem but I already love it. Titus is sweet but fiery and Exos is a prick with a soft side. I love them both and I can't wait to meet Claire's other elemental matches. I really want to know more about the Fae realm and Claire's mother. I don't think she is completely to blame for what happened to the Spirit Fae.

I loved the mystery of the attacks on Claire, but it doesn't feel completely solved. Hopefully more answers await in the next book. Cannot recommend this enough!

Slight spoilers

-completed series, read in order
-med/fast burn
-fae (supernatural)
-no m/m so far
-insta lust

The verdict is still out on this series. While I did enjoy this series opener, I’m not 100% sold yet. And it could just be me because I’ve been in a serious book funk lately. So take my 3 stars lightly.

This series is about Claire, a human who finds out she’s not really a human and is whisked off to the fae realm. I have to give the authors props because they were excellent at conveying Claire’s emotions when it comes to her confusion, sadness, and complete disbelief that she’s really a fae. When she pinched herself, believing this was all a dream, I laughed out loud. Due to the nature of Claire’s powers, I don’t want to go into too much detail, but we do know that Claire will have 5 mates. So far, she has two, and a potential 3rd. And I can kind of guess who the other two will be. It was neat reading about the mate bonds because I honestly haven’t read about this type yet. Fated mates is a favorite trope of mine, but this type of mate bond isn’t really “fated”, more along the lines of they are compatible and can choose whether or not to be mates, it was interesting and different.

Book 1 is basically introducing us to Claire, her powers, some of her mates, and a little history of her family. Of course, throw in some mean girls, and a secret fae who wants Claire gone. I have pretty strong suspicions and the book seems to be a little predictable so far, so I’m anxious to see if my suspicions are correct or if the authors are gonna throw us for a loop and give us an awesome twist we aren’t expecting.

There are some steamy bedroom scenes but honestly, I’ll admit that some of the steaminess got a little dampened for me due to the authors very detailed explanations of their energies and powers mixing. I personally like a more detailed scene of the actual action happening, where as the energy exchange explanations kind of took me out of the mood. But the fire scenes, yeah those worked for me.

Overall, I would say this was a solid read and you should definitely give it a shot.

Claire is a bit too weepy and woe is me for my liking. Titus is sweet but not my type really. But Excose [or however you spell it, I read it on audio] is absolute perfection, sapphire eyes, blonde hair, chizzled features, wripped body... yes he is a bit arogant and entitled, but still he is great.
This has an interesting story though and the ending is a real cliffhanger.

4/5⭐️ 2/5🌶️

——• 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️

Claire turns 21 and is out celebrating her birthday with friends when she is dared to kiss a stranger at the bar only when she does, her life is turned upside down. Leaving behind the life she knew and waking up in the fae realm learning everything had been a lie and that she is in fact half human, half fae.

——• 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️

Not sure if I’ve read a full Fae based book before and I honestly don’t mind it. This seems a bit shorter than normal so things are a little more fast paced whilst still being detailed, keeping me fully invested!

So far I’ve learnt she is a halfling having a human father and a mother who was a full spirit far but Claire has all five elements and can be matched with a mate for each. Whilst finding her footing in this new world and exploring her abilities, we find that someone is manipulating the elements causing harm and so the story continues…

——• 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️

We’ve only met 3 of the 5 fated mates which are:

Spirit 👻 Exos - A better and the strongest Spirit fae in the realm being royalty by blood and is currently at a bonded level 2 of 4.

Fire 🔥 Titus - The strongest non royal fire fae and is at a bonded level 3 of 4.

Air 💨 Vox - A royal descendant and not yet bonded to Claire.

Intriguing

I loved this first book of the Elemental Fae Academy. It is my first encounter with both authors and I think they did an amazing job setting up this world.

When FMC Claire's powers are awakened, she's taken to the Fae realm to learn to master her new gifts. Her heritage however makes her public enemy number one and she's heavily scrutinized. It's up to her and her mentors to learn to control her magic and prove everyone she's not the threat they assume she is.

Claire -understandably so- goes through a lot of emotions coping with the new revelations and the events surrounding them. This part of her character development is handled pretty realistic. She struggles to adapt to a new world and new habits plus controling a set of powers that is able to cause massive destruction. Despite all that she is curious, kind and willing to learn.

I also really love the magic system and the way the relationships are forming between the characters. The connection she forms with Exos and Titus is amazing.

I can't wait to read more!

This book is like discovering a new flavour ice cream, it’s like that first sip of cider on a really hot day. It’s amazing.

I am literally gobsmacked at how much in love with these Fae that i am. I want them all. I want to devour the series in one sitting and know that its going to stay with me for a long time.

However, this book is only part 1. That sucks because this book is so enthralling that you cant help but have a clawing need to read the rest. It’s not a want but a very definite need.

So far we’ve been introduced to pretty much the entire reverse harem but a few haven’t been put into detail and that’s okay because it is jam packed with stuff involving the main three of this book, Titus, Exos and Vox. Really cool names for really cool guys. And HOT. Did i mention that already? No? My bad.

The storyline and world building are amazing. These authors really go into depth without going hella descriptive. It doesn’t need that and fortunately doesn’t have that. They’re amazing at giving you what you need.

Am i impatient and wanting the second book like now? YES!

Will i be patient? Probably NOT!!

But I will tell you that I’ll be waiting with excruciating bated breath for the second instalment to hit my kindle and I know, with absolute certainty, that it will be worth the wait!

Im thinking Exos doesn't have much patience, “when I tried, she blew me into a wall.” Exos tilted his head at me. “Twice.” The man tends to have a dry sense of humor, “suffering from a splitting headache,” Exos finished for me, his voice low. “While also rather enjoying lounging between your legs, princess. I think I’ll stay.” I liked this book, I loved the characters and I cant wait for more

Erotic Romantic Fantasy, Reverse Harem, Menage, Alternate Worlds

First person; multiple-POV

Book #1 of the Elemental Fae Academy with cliffhanger.

Gods, I didn't care if she bonded with a fae of every element, as long as I could stand by her side.

by Titus

Addictiveness: 5/5 I'm in love with this series. Really amazing! I've read in one sitting, because I couldn't let go. It kept me wanting more until the end. As addictive as chocolate!!!

Character: heroes 5/5, heroine 5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 3/5 Very complex characters with lots of depth. The authors took their time to create the characters and also have left room for them to grow.

Claire: What a heroine. I love her. She is courageous, fun, loyal and very friendly. Life has given her lemons and she has been making lemonade the whole time. She is young, but brave. She has her weak moments, but she always finds her inner strength to learn from these moments. A kickass heroine!

Exos: Gorgeous, royal, mature. He has the arrogance of someone that truly believes he is the leader of his people. His approach at the beginning not the best, but he learns fast from his mistakes. He is protective and very sexy.

Titus: I don't know, he maybe my favorite. He is young, but mature. He is not royal, but powerful. He is a sweetheart. The way he instinctively knows how to connect with Claire is beautiful. He is possessive, but learns how to share. He is a bit of a hothead, acting before thinking, but his element is a kind like that.

Vox: He is a bit mysterious and because he only showed up closer to the end of the book, I can't say much about him besides he is hot and seem to be more cerebral, the opposite of Titus that is complete emotional.

Many interesting secondary characters and because we don't really know who are the villains, we can say they may all be important or not. We still don't have all five mates, so if I had to guess here I would say Sol and River were going to become her other mates.

The villains… so there were a few, but I guess the really dangerous ones are hidden. We don't really know who they are, it could be anyone.

These characters were multidimensional, very easy to love, connect and understand.

Cover: art 5/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5  I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. I can be really picky with book covers and I have to say, this one is one of the most beautiful art work I've seen. Besides being really pretty, it really tells the story of the book. This girl is definitely Claire. We can see she is wearing a uniform like the academy. The background reminds us of a place such a school. The magic flying around like she still doesn't have much control. Specially, we can notice both powers that were better explored in this book, fire and spirit as there are life around with flowers coming out. The colors are superb, the font and placement of the words in the cover are spot on and the title fits the story. I would definitely buy this book by its cover without reading the blurb!!!

Freshness5/5 O.M.G This is a one-of-a-kind story. It is unique in which everything feels new and original. Like never I've read before.  As fresh as a cold bottle of water in the middle of the desert!

Plot: believable 3/5, conflict 5/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 2/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 5/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 5/5, twists 5/5  Amazing opening and a major cliffhanger at the end. Of course this plot is not believable, but this is fantasy. The world-built is fantastic, the story has enough subplot to keep the reader intrigue to what will come next. The twists are unexpected and the conflict is very well written. Splendid!!! Highest level of satisfaction!!!

Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 5/5, steam 5/5  This is hot, sexy and fun. Each male has a totally different personality that matches his element. So each romance line has it's own subplot inside the story that created a magical love story for the heroine. The heat is literally and figuratively on! The smut is great and it grows accordingly in intensity. Even though this is a reverse harem story, this is not gratuity sex, but steamy scenes that complement the plot.

Writing Style: 5/5  I don't even know what to say. The writing is clean, cohere and have no loopholes. The characters are complex, the plot is simply convoluted and the romance is sexy and loving.  Inspiring writing!

THE END! I know, cliffhangers are there for a reason, but I don't have to love them. :)

Why had I agree to this madness, again?

Oh, right. The pleasure. Their sexy energy. The way they knew how to touch me perfectly. Their hypnotic eyes. Gorgeous smiles. Teaching skills. Irresistible bodies. And well-endowed-

by Claire

This is a MUST read for everybody that enjoys romantic fantasy.

This book has it all. It is easy to connect and love the characters. The plot is complex, but very well written that you completely understand everything. The romance has a lot of emotion, but is also filled with great smut. It has the perfect combination.

If I had to use one word to describe this would be BALANCE! Yeah, I know it is a weird word choice, but it has everything to do with the magical elements an with how the writers were able to keep a perfect harmony between characters, plot and romance.

35/35 STARS –  5 STARS (between 33.5 stars and 35 stars)

Addictiveness: 5 Character: 5 Cover: 5 Freshness: 5  Plot: 5 Romance: 5 Writing Style: 5

Action 4/5

Angst 2.5/5

Darkness 0/5

Humor 3/5

Romance 5/5

Suspense/Mystery 4/5

Would I recommend? This is a must for anyone that enjoys romantic fantasy.

Would I re-read this book/series? YES! This has totally become binge worthy!

Would I read more from the author? Can’t wait for more!!!

You MAY read this because you like romantic fantasy; you SHOULD read this because you enjoy reverse harem; you MUST read this because this series is UNIQUE!!!

This is one HAWT adventure that hooked me in from the very start.

This is one of those books that you just can't read quickly enough. You are desperate to read it and find out what happens next, yet you don't want to get to the end either. I was thoroughly captivated by every single word, falling in love with the three main characters and enjoying every moment of adventure. There wasn't a single thing I would want to change about this book. It has dimensional main characters, emotions, reactions and feelings I could relate too, a decent amount of heat and an exciting plot. Oh and great world building - I can't not mention the fantastic world this story is set in.

in this first book of a trilogy we meet half-ling Claire and two of her future mates, Exos and Titus. Exos is Fae royalty and the strongest spirit elemental in the realm, whilst Titus is a fire elemental and a bit of a loner. Until a rather disastrous 21st birthday party, Claire never even knew her mother was a Fae, never knew her mother at all. Claire is caught up in a whole strange new world, and it takes her a while to adapt. Things aren't helped by the interference of malevolent outside forces and 3 bitchy college girls. Her panic and despair felt so real, I could feel my heart breaking for, and with, Claire's. She is such an easy to like character and is a big part of what makes this a great read.

Exos was quite an unfeeling ass at first, though as we got to know him he does grow on you. The authors also cleverly and subtly wove explanations for his original aloofness into the story. Titus is very different to Exos, avoiding the usual pitfall of an RH story where the males are often interchangeable. I liked that we only met two of her harem, well technically three but only two with which she became intimate. This allowed Claire to form a believable connection and bond with the pair of them. I'm just hoping that they don't 'disappear' from future books as the remaining males are introduced into the mix.

If the remaining two books are only half as good as this it will still be a fabulous series. And I need those books NOW!!!!
