The second book in the Villains Club series about five billionaire brothers, all anti-heroes you're going to love! Don't miss this dark romance!

Trace Rule takes what he wants in this world.

Jewels, money, anything he desires, thanks to his skill as a thief.

There’s nothing like the thrill of possessing what isn’t his.

But he’s not supposed to steal another man’s wife, especially the wife of a fellow Villains Club member.

The problem is when he sets his sights on me, I don’t know who I’m dealing with. Powerful, manipulative, and charming, he doesn’t take no for an answer.

If only I loved my husband. If only he cared about me. If only ours wasn’t a marriage of convenience.

If only I could find it in me to say no.

A villain skilled at taking what he desires has chosen me for his next crime.

There’s nowhere for me to hide when Trace Rule decides what he wants.

PUBLISHER'S This series is called Villains Club, and not just because of the secret club by the same name. The men in this series are villains. Villains do bad things, and these brothers do just that. Bad things. Trace Rule may be more of a precision instrument type of villain compared to his brother Maddox, who is a blunt object kind, but he's still a villain. Just a more charming and seductive one. If you like anti-heroes, great! You're in the right place. If you don't, then this isn't the book for you.

"𝘿𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙡, 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙚?"

Trace is a professional thief - he sees something that isn't his, he wants it, and he takes it! Unfortunately the precious thing he's set his eyes on stealing is priceless - but what price will they both be willing pay to be together

Chantel is stuck in a loveless marriage of convenience, and so when Trace sets his sights on her she can't help but be flattered and attracted to the attention he gives her

I loved their story, it wasn't easy and certainly had its ups and downs, they both made some stupid decisions along the way and I wanted to bang both their heads together at one point, but it was lovely to see Trace's brothers come through for him

We got glimpses of Maddox's life with Willow too which was lovely to see 🥰

I can't wait for Julian's story, after that ending I have a feeling boats are about to be rocked 👀

Wow! A sexy thief with no boundaries. That’s Trace Rule, second oldest of the Rule brothers. This is different from the first book in the series but no less intriguing and a little disturbing. Trace doesn’t seem to have a moral compass when he decides he is going to steal the alluring Chantel. She’s a beauty with a nasty husband but Trace doesn’t care. What starts out as Trace pulling Chantel into an illicit affair and ends up with a kidnapping is one intense ride. Chantel may not love her husband but Trace doesn’t give her the option of staying with him. Oh, no. He’s the thief and he steal another man’s wife right out from underneath him. But there’s more to the story. Trace knows things about the husband and member of the Villains Club. Yup, he’s a dirty politician. It’s an intense rush as Chantel has no choice in her kidnapping but Trace is a sexy hunk that makes her realize she wants more than to be a trophy wife to a evil husband. The relationship was hot from the start and soon leads to a sweet love as the two play house. Trace is an interesting character as the son the father has little use for until later in the story when Trace’s skills soon become an asset to the conniving ruler of the Rule family. I like the group of brothers even the stinker Helix. Looks like Julian is up next with a future forced on him. I look forward to the next installment in the interesting series. 3.5 stars

Obsession at its finest

This story was strange but really good.I would have given it 5 stars except its foundation was built on infidelity, which I have a problem with.Besides that,Trace was funny, personable, and very focused. ( but a bit insane)What Trace wants,Trace takes.Chantal is stuck in a loveless, faithless marriage with a nasty, manipulative man who is an ambitious Senator who controls and uses Chantal to make himself look good and be envied by his peers.Trace starts an affair with Chantal ,(who is reluctant at first)then Trace becomes her benevolent kidnapper.I will let you read for yourself what happens after that.Alot does. This story brings in the other brothers. You get to see glimpses of their personalites and what they do in the Rule family.Helix is proving to be an unlikeable trouble- maker. It is the scholarly, reserved brother's turn next ( I can't remember his name)to have his life ripped apart and forced to do something he isn't suited for .Let the chaos continue...

Don't miss this one!

This book was fantastic! I liked the first in the series but this was amazing! Trace is such a fun character. Although I do feel that if we hadn't had Maxwell's story first, Trace might not have been as accepting to his instant feelings towards Chantel. His unorthodox manner in making her see the reality of her life was creative, even if he could have gone about it slightly different, I don't think she ever would have admitted the truth to herself without his insane plan. I have to admit, I was starting to warm up to Stephan a little after his surprising reaction when he came to Virginia for the first meeting. Then the ending came and I once again can't stand their father. I also enjoyed how we got little glimpses of how Maxwell and Willow were doing after their story inside this one. Excellent read!

Dark -

One of the tags on this story is "Dark". I have to confirm that description. Putting my mind into a dark frame really helped me enjoy this tale. I was able to cast away the societal belief system and emerge myself into the Rule world once more. The description is spot on and if you read Maddox's story in book 1, you will know there is a special tone. If dark is not for you, don't try to read the book. I could see how some of the scenes could bother someone who wants sunshine and rainbow romance.

I am curious to see how the Rule boys handle their lives as having some additional info on Maddox in book 2 was great. The universe is opening, expanding and evolving to mass proportions. I respect the author of these creations so much I have the remaining Rule stories in my library already.

Trace stole more than one heart….

I laughed out loud so often reading this, Trace’s carefree attitude was a constant appeal as I fell for his quick witted thief who stole so much more than Chantel. His second son shenanigans made it such an interesting take on the antihero.

This was not good (for me).
The romance was crazy shallow - also warning for instalove.
There wasn’t a crumb of believability in here.
Also, the spicy scenes that did exist were short.
Tried to have a plot but failed, and also failed in spice.

Just wasn’t for me.

Dnf. Couldn’t connect to either Trace or Chantel. The dialogue seemed stilted and awkward. Not sure if it's the book or my current reading slump, but I lost interest.

Well written book like the first one. I'm not a fan of cheating, though. The kidnapping and then it wad OK was weird.

Trace Rule is a thief. He takes what he wants. When he encounters a beautiful woman at a ball, he sets his sights on her. A problem arises when he realizes she is the wife of a senator who happens to be part of his secret society.
Opinion
This is the second book in a series. While it can be read as a stand alone, it would be better to have read the first book before reading this one. I did not and wish I had.
When I started reading this book, I was angry at the characters. I kept getting caught up on my own ideas of morality. Once I accepted this was a dark romance, I was able to accept it and go on.
The book ended up being pretty awesome. Aside from the lacking morals of the characters, the story reminded me of Beauty and the Beast. I ended up being consumed by the story and just about read it in one setting.
Many thanks to Abbi Cook who provided me with a copy of this book.

Take is Trace's journey. It's a delicious read anout the next Rule heir (or should I say spare) to be made to join the Order of Impuratus. He's not happy and has no intention of making it easy. He's  a thief and is quite happy. He has no desire to follow his father Stephen Rule's path. It's while at a Ball that he meets the beautiful Chantel. Problem is, she belongs to someone else. Not that it matters to Trace. He's made it his mission to take on the biggest theft of his life and there's nothing that will stop him from achieving his goal.

Abbi Cook it was fantastic!
Take is the second book in this series (Villians club) Trace Rule is so not interested in following in his fathers footsteps, however Trace has a duty to join the Order. After his induction he has to attend the compulsory ball. Here he meets Chantel who is a married woman. This won't stop Trace, he takes what he wants!
We love the bad guy!
Highly recommend this book

This book is full of drama and excitement. Trace and Chantel have a ton of chemistry. Trace is part of the Rule family and part of the villains club. He meets Chantel one night and decides that he has to have her as his no matter the cost. Their story is full of twists and will keep you wondering what will happen next. This book is one that you will devour in one setting.

I loved this book! Chantel and Trace had a connection right from the very start. I loved Trace. He was a little bit crazy and a villain in his own right, but he was also fun and sweet and would do anything for Chantel. This book is entertaining and captivating with some twists and turn along the way. Fantastic read and I can't wait to read about the next Rule brother.
