I never knew that I needed Heirloom on my bookshelf and in my life until I had an opportunity to read it! Heirloom is, quite possibly, the most visually stunning book I have ever held in my hands as an adult. The artistry adds great joy-ment in reading Heirloom. To make Heirloom even better, it has short vignettes along with suggestions for making memories with our families and leaving lasting legacies of faith. Kathy Howard has created a gorgeously stunning book that will bring you and your family great joy for many years to come.

*I received a PDF copy of Heirloom as part of Kathy's book launch team.

Heirloom is an inspirational book filled with short stories of those who have impacted the lives and hearts of those around them often in simple, unexpected ways. Each devotional concludes with a suggested scripture reading along with reflective questions and prayer.

Ms. Howard also includes 'Legacy Tips', ideas that integrate faith into family life, as well as 'Genealogy Tips' to assist the family historian.

I've already purchased one copy of this book as a gift and the recipient is looking forward to reading it a second time.

Endearing stories that remind us how important it is to live out our faith in front of our family, friends, and acquaintances, always pointing to Christ. The beautiful pages remind us " how beautiful on the mountain are the feet of those who bring good news!” Isaiah 52:7. I highly recommend this book.

I was given a copy of this for my honest opinion.

I sat down on a Saturday to read the first few chapters and I ended up reading the entire book (52 chapters). Each chapter is only a few pages long with lots of beautiful pictures. There were great stories included with things to ponder on. I will be reading this again and enjoyed all of the stories.

In order to leave a legacy, you’ve got to own it first. You’ll find inspiration for doing that in HEIRLOOM: Living and Leaving a Legacy of Faith, written by Kathy Howard.

This hardcover devotional book, published by Tyndale, is beautiful inside and out. Every page is full of colorful images gathered from various sources.

Inside this book, there are fifty-two, true stories about people from the past. The stories tell us how they lived and worshiped.

Just to give you a taste, here is a sampling of the devotion titles:
A Prayer from My Great-Great Grandmother
Wild Hogs, Tobacco, and Skipping Church
A Grace-Filled Moment by the Rocker

Each devotion begins with scripture. Usually, it is taken from the Holy Bible NIV, but some are from the ESV, KJV, and NLT.

Also, included is a true story, questions for reflection, and a short prayer. The stories may be about someone you’ve heard of before, such as Dwight Moody. Others introduce you to a less familiar name. The stories reflect how God worked through different people to influence the spiritual growth of others.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I find stories of faith fascinating, no matter how simple or how complex they are.

This has inspired me to ask my relatives to bring family faith stories to our next family gathering. I hope to compile these into spiritual legacy booklets to give to everyone.

I highly recommend this book. It is a great fit for Christian parents and grandparents. It will make a great addition to home and church libraries. And, it should delight genealogy enthusiasts.

This book enhances my daily life in several ways:
1) It reminds me of God's preeminence over all time, places, and people throughout the ages;
2) It encourages me to be a difference maker in the lives I touch whether family, neighbors near or far, and strangers who each bear the image of God within; and
3) It challenges me to be more alert and thoughtful of how I use my time. I want to make the most of every moment. Leaving this book out by the calendar works better than a sign saying, Get Moving.'

I've never seen a book that integrates artistic beauty with intellectual and factual knowledge all under the umbrella of spiritual truth through stories of faith. This book is jam packed with goodies to savor. It's difinitely a keeper and a giver. In the back of the book it has decorated pages with blank lines for writing my legacy story.

Heirloom's gorgeous illustrations drew me in as I started reading the stories about the past that connect with the present. As I've gotten older, I've wondered what kind of a legacy I'd leave behind. Would my grandchildren know how much I love Jesus, or how much I love them? Would my writing leave a trail that leads to the heart of God? I hope so. As I read through the stories Kathy gathered, I enjoyed the memories and examples of faith. Kathy Howard has also added wonderful tips for genealogists and those interested in finding out more about family history. There is also a place in the back to write your own heirloom legacy story. If you enjoy stories that inspire, you'll want to order a copy of Heirloom. This would make a lovely gift as well. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I preordered this book and just received it. It is an absolutely gorgeous hardcover book. Every page has flowers and old pictures. That is just the surface though. Kathy’s book is full of tips on ways to live and leave a legacy of faith for your family. There are genealogy tips as well. Each short chapter is a snapshot of someone who left, or is living, a legacy a faith. “A legacy must begin somewhere. Some families can trace their spiritual heritage back for centuries. Others witnessed the birth for themselves.” (Page 69)

This book would make a wonderful gift for someone with children or grandchildren. I am excited to add this to my forever bookshelf and to gift a copy or two.
