Read for my toddler's early wake up because she slept earlier than usual. This book has recipes on different breakfast dishes. There are Cantonese phrases right below the English. It explains what Dim Sum are.
I bought this book digitally to proofread it before buying it as a gift for my little cousins this upcoming holiday season and was thrown to find the second page of story to be suddenly in Mandarin. Knowing both Mandarin and Cantonese, I read it easily but am obviously concerned now about getting a physical copy. Otherwise it was cute and informative despite some words being repeated like soy sauce. Even after learning Jyutping in college, I still find it difficult to read and wish they put the pronunciation help in the beginning instead of at the end.
I bought this book for my nephew. It's a great book for children to learn about going to eat dim sum. The Cantonese romanization is clear and easily decipherable. The book includes the story in full in English, traditional Chinese, and Cantonese romanization. I highly recommend this book for people looking to teach their children Cantonese, people who want to learn some Cantonese, or people just interested in a story about going for dim sum.
