Cora is hunting in her wolf form when she hears machines above heading for her clan. She hurries back there and sees men dressed in black. Her father orders a clan member to pack some of Cora’s things and they hand Cora a summons to attend the shifter academy? She is confused because this privilege has been stripped from them and they shouldn’t be ordering her to go there.
And it gets worse -- her escort is dead. She gets strange visions of a place in the darkness with a dancing light inside. It is afraid of her but it wants something. The protective ring around Shifter Island is under attack for the first time in centuries. The three most powerful clans join the first class. Cora gets entangled in a deadly game where you win and live, or die trying. A stranger leaves kisses on her lips, and one way or another, their fates are bound together. But who is he?
It was difficult following this story as Cora is hunting deer, then attacked by a bear as helicopters fly overhead to her clan. This is the start of a new series, so don’t miss this one. I have a feeling you will need to read these in order or you’ll be totally lost.

Interesting new series with suspense, a good story line and good cast of characters with a little action. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
