Nyx had finally begun to find her place at Dalfeira, but when Cecily stumbled into her life with a piece of information Nyx needed, everything changed.
Now Nyx – a wanted criminal – must return to the place she was held captive and tortured, and attempt another daring rescue. But when the eradication of magic wielders becomes blatant and a missing detail of her past comes to light, the stakes are suddenly raised.
Loran’s Blade has been locked up and stripped of his title and name. Now as just Egan, all he has is the hope of Cecily’s survival. When a second chance at life is presented to him, he has the means to protect the ones he cares for – if he is willing to don a new identity.

I'm extremely happy to finally be able to share this book (coming to you on June 8) with all my readers. It was an amazing writing experience and I hope you feel that and more when you read it. If someone told me I would be publishing a second book by this time in my life, I would never have believed them, but here we are! And here's to many more.
This is book two in the series. Check out my review on book one Memory of stone on my page. Spoiler free review: This book starts off where book one stops. Which I love. Book one stopped at the height of the story and I enjoy being able just to jump straight back in.
Nyx, the main female character is such a badass heroine. She never gives up. In this book she also has to turn back to the human realm where she experienced horrors in the first book, and she is haunted by several parties. She must leave the comfort of the fae lands, and the safety of her new friends to do the right thing for her people.
In this book we get to know her past and there are some major reveals around her history and family. She discovers what actually happened to her parents when she was just a babe. Another wonderful detail is the great friendships that develop throughout the story. She finds friendships in places she never thought she would. Both Nyx and Cecily, who is another female character, have journeys of self discovery. They get to truly recognize how strong they actually are. The male main character Egan is rising to his role. He chooses the path he has to take and discovers what he might have to sacrifice for the greater good.
Nyx and her friends have to work from two sides to save both the fae lands and the human realm. But somehow those two destinies are also tightly connected. Will they be able to stop the dark forces who have connections through so many people in higher places...
Another small detail that I absolutely love is how much Nyx loves to read. She might love reading just as much as myself :P
Really enjoyed this continuation of the story and the series is still a great recommendation from me. It has a lot of great fantasy elements, good flow in the story and I'm really interested in seeing where the story goes from here. The ending of this book was a major plot twist which is truly exciting for the rest of the story
I absolutely enjoyed living in this story for a few days (and traveling through the worlds within it). I loved watching the characters change and grow - especially Nyx. The author did a great job exploring the depth of her characters and it paid off. 'Verity of Old' was a thrilling adventure. I'm only sad that I couldn't spend much more time in there (had to finish it once I picked it up; very engaging) and I can't wait for book 3! 😊
If you loved Memory of Stone then this is an amazing match for you. The sequel to Memory of Stone is just as enthralling as the prequel or even better and will captivate your interest till the very end.
