Dear Dr. McKay, You don’t know me at all, but I’m the love of your life. My name is Kim Dailey and as of just about five minutes ago, you and I are in a very serious committed, relationship. Hot and heavy of course because well, let’s face it, I hear you have a twelve pack under those scrubs and I’m basically a doppleganger for the star of Scandal. (I’m sure you’ve seen it. If not, the internet is your friend.) Anyway, here’s the real story. I’m celebrating my birthday in Pete’s Bar tonight. Low and behold, Tammy, AKA old high school mean girl, walks up to me to say hello and tries to one-up me. She even made fun of my Happy Planner stickers! Anyway, I may have told her that I was seriously dating the most prestigious, most attractive pediatric oncologist this side of the Rocky Mountains (that's you by the way) and that we were shopping for the perfect ring. That seemed to shut her up. So yeah. That happened. She deserved it, I swear. If you’re a decent man, and I hear you are, maybe you’ll just let that little white lie slide if she brings it up during the Seattle CARES Charity Event. Oh, and if you need an out for bringing a date, I told her I might not be able to make her event. That’s a lie too of course. I’m more than available if you need a date, but I’ll hold to that little fib just for you if you need me to. You’re welcome.
The new love of your life that you have yet to actually meet and fall in love with,
Kimberly Dailey.
ps. Please don't sue me. I can't afford the legal fees.

I normally don't like fake dating but this is hysterical. I love the email. When Kohen sees Kim in the dress is great. I love that she is so BOLD! Flipper is my favorite nickname now. Aris is very smart. Ismena confused me at first but she makes sense later. Ellery is just what Kohen needed at that time. The ending was just what I needed. Perfection. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!!!
Smooched is a standalone and book #3 in Susan Renee's romantic comedy series. Each novel is a standalone and it can be read in any order. It's definitely a hilarious read! I couldn't stop myself from laughing! Especially, at the heroine, Kim's internal dialogue, and her dialogues with her friends, it cracked me up to say the very least. Kim has such an amazing friendship with her friends, I loved every second reading their interactions with each other. It's an interracial romance read, I absolutely had a blast reading this novel! Kohen (hero) and Kim are absolutely adorable together! Smooched is a fake dating romance novel. However, as readers we all know that eventually, it does turn into a real relationship. I liked the setting of this book as well as how the storyline as it unravelled. And the plot twist! After reading Smooched, I'm definitely planning to read the rest of this series.
Ever since they first met, Kim and Kohen felt at ease with each other; they understand one another. Kohen has trust issues towards women, his last relationship didn't really end that well. Kohen guards himself. He has his walls up, and he doesn't really allow anyone in, except for the people who are closest to him, he's family and best friend. Kim never really had a seriously relationship before, she kept things casual. I immensely enjoyed reading Kim and Kohen's story. I loved their relationship dynamics, that they could easily open up to each other. Kim is definitely a character, she's amazing! And Kohen is charming, more than anything he values and respects Kim. He enjoys being around her; Kohen finds comfort in Kim's presence. And the setting! Greece!! I think that's the ultimate highlight in this book! I did not see that playing out! Overall, its definitely a funny lighthearted read! I highly recommend it, if you are looking for a new romantic comedy read.
On her 28th birthday, Kim sees her high school's mean girls. After drinking way too many Manhattans, Kim is a bit tipsy. So she didn't really have any control of what came out of her mouth. Kim may have mentioned that she was in a longer term relationship, with a hot pediatric oncologist doctor Kohen McKay. Of course, she hasn't met Kohen, as yet. After her encounter with Tammy (AKA mean girl) she realised what she did. Before losing her nerve, Kim writes Dr McKay an email, explaining what happened, stating that "she is the love of his life". Kohen is in desperate need of a date to an event, hosted by his parents. After receiving Kim's email, he came up with an idea. When they finally come face-to-face, Kim and Kohen come to an agreement. A plan. Kim and Kohen are going to be in a fake relationship.
**I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review
Kim, 28, a medical assistant, had been drinking with friends while celebrating her birthday and bragged to a former mean girl from high school that she was dating the pediatric oncologist, Kohen, and they were in a serious relationship (totally not true, they had never even met). She sent him an email as a heads up in case someone asked him. At the same time Kohen was panicking because his parents were coming for a visit and he had told his mom that he was seriously dating someone that now lived with him and they were going to the big fundraiser. He decided to ask Kim to be his fake girlfriend and she agreed to the charade. Will their fake relationship become real?
I enjoyed this fun story where the doctor and medical assistant connected under unusual circumstances and give it 4.5 stars. The author did a great job developing the characters, especially with the references to childhood cancer and theIr great friendships. They both had talked about a nonexistent relationship and then came up with a fake relationship as a solution. I loved the humor and joking throughout the story as well as the serious references to to childhood illness. The epilogue was a perfect ending for their story.

Kim and Kohen are rockstars in their professional lives but disastrous in their personal lives. In an ironic twist of fate, they find themselves in desperate need for a pretend lover. However, after realizing that they are perfectly matched they decide to drop all pretense and date for real. Unfortunately, the hot and steamy mind blowing sex is not enough to ensure a perfect relationship.
Smooched is the third book in the series by Susan Renee. The book features Kimberly but the gang from the first two books is along for the hilarious but romantic romp. When out with friends for her birthday, Kimberly is baited by her nasty nemesis from high school, Tammy. Tipsy and backed into a corner, Kimberly tells Tammy that she is dating and almost engaged to prominent pediatric oncologist, Kohen McCay! After putting that whopping lie out in the universe, Kimberly emails the good doctor to give him a heads up just in case Tammy questions him about the love of his life. After reading her drunken and funny ramblings, Kohen happily takes advantage of Kimberly’s lie for his own reasons and suddenly the pair is fake engaged. I really enjoyed the main characters in this book. Kohen is sensitive and a rarity....a selfless gentleman. Kimberly has so many facets to her personality...funny, quirky and passionate. Will their close proximity result in a true love match or will this fake arrangement implode? Ms. Renee has created a truly delightful story....I loved the headings for each chapter of the book and I always feel that hearing the POV from the H and h makes for clarity and intimacy in storytelling.

This book is one of my favorite romantic comedies! It's spicy and sexy with Dynamic and awesome characters who are down to earth. They end up in some of the funniest situations that you can just see happening in real life! Love the twist at the end. Guaranteed HEA!
Celebrating her birthday with her friends at Pete’s Bar, Kim Dailey, a medical assistant, is approached by a mean girl from high school named Tammy. Intending to humiliate Kim, Kim outthinks her and informs her she is dating the most prestigious pediatric oncologist, Dr. Kohen McCay! They may even be close to engagement soon! Hoping that’s enough to shut Tammy up, but still wanting to be cautious, Kim emails the doctor to warn him about possible repercussions in case Tammy questions him about their relationship. Kohen is fortunately amused and decides to use her situation to his own advantage so he bumps it up to an engagement – fake, of course! And he might have told his parents they were living together.
The characters are wonderful, and the story line is hilarious. Kohen can laugh at the situation and that makes him very likable. Kim has some excellent qualities as well which are brought into play, especially in reading her crazy email. Now we are left to wonder, will the fake engagement take on a life of its own and become “real” to the two of them?
I enjoyed Smooched by author Susan Renee. It's my first time reading a book by this author and it won't be my last. Smooched is about a doctor and medical assistant who connects under very unusual circumstances. They're both in a bind because they've been running their mouths to the folks in their lives claiming they were in serious relationships. The author did a fantastic job developing the characters, their storyline and theIr friendships. They both went from being in nonexistent relationship to all of a sudden being in a "relationship" as a way to get people off their backs. I loved that there were humor throughout the story because it lightened the parts of the book that referenced serious childhood illness. The epilogue was a perfect ending to Kim and Kohen's story.

Smooched is the first book I’ve read by author Susan Renee, but it will not be the last one I read from her. This is a fake dating novel that I took a chance on and I’m so glad that I did. I can’t say just how much I loved this book. This story is refreshing and I thoroughly enjoyed the witty and clever banter between the main characters, Kim Dailey and Kohen McKay. The sexual chemistry between Kim and Kohen is so evident that it jumps off the page. The main female character, Kim, is an African-American woman who is a clearly fleshed out, multi-dimensional character rather than the one-dimensional characters readers sometimes encounter in depictions of black female characters. Kim is smart, strong, funny, loving and unafraid to own her sexuality. Kohen is smart, driven and passionate about helping sick children. He’s also hot as hell, but his humility about his affect on women is admirable. The dialogue in this book had me laughing so hard that, at times, I couldn’t breathe. Simply put, this book is superb!
Smooched is a hilarious standalone that is book 3 in Susan's series. This book will have you cracking up laughing, swooning over Kohen, and just cheering for them to be a real couple instead of "fake dating".
On her birthday Kim enjoys a few too many drinks after running into her high school popular girls. She tells them she is dating a pediatric oncologist named Kohen McKay, but they havent even met yet!! Kim and Kohen both have reasons to make a fake dating relationship and what ensues is a hilarious, sweet, heart felt story of them finding love with each other.
This book is just the sweetest!! I couldn't put it down once I started it. If you want a book that makes you laugh, makes you feel all the feels, this is the book for you!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I loved this book. It had me go on an emotional roller-coaster ride. I love all the characters I especially got attached to Arias. I can see him as my book bestie. Once I started reading, I knew that I was hooked. I cannot wait to read more from this author. I could usually see how books are going, this one I fell in love with. I would give it more stars if I could.

Tears! huge happy tears this book. Omg this book. Kim and kohen's book was everything I hoped for and more. I've demolished it in one sitting. Feels all the feels. I'm so so happy kim finally got her happy ever after even if it was a little unconventional and not without it's own bumps in the road. I'll be back with more thoughts soon
What happens when you've had one too many Manhattans on your birthday and you run into the mean girls from high school who take great pleasure in putting you down? Well you shock them with extraordinary news that you are not only dating but engaged to Seattle's hottest and most famous bachelor doctor. This is the foot in mouth moment for Kim when she says Dr. Kohen McKay leading Pediatric Oncologist is her fiancé and then sends him an email explaining what she has done with apologies for her big lie. This fun story takes off at full speed and doesn't slow down not even at the end. Kohen finds Kim adorable and realizes that have a lot in common. She finds him extremely attractive and is able to help him with his lie. Who says 2 lies can't make a right. Although they quickly fall into lust it slowly evolves into love and then into angst and finally HEA.

This story was wonderful! It had humor, a sassy, level-headed FMC, a sexy, sweet but troubled MMC, and a cast of secondary characters that were individual and fun. The plot was pretty simple and unsurprising(no spoilers!) but the writing rose it above mundane. I had to put it down a few times because I was laughing so hard. Steamy and sweet, with a HEA that made me very happy. I've found a new author to enjoy!

So this book was amazing I read within a day and I really enjoyed the story line the build up and the extreme shock in the end! My fav part was the dolphin scene and the planner room so adorable!
Another hit by Susan Renee! I loved all three of the stories and was happy to see Kim get her own. Kohen McKay is adorably hot! From the way he reacted to the email, to Greece, then back home...this was a great story. Susan Renee’s words just flow across the page and take the reader on the journey from beginning to end. I guess it’s time to print out her book list and make my way through them all!
There is something in the writing that this book has the the others don't and I think I know what it is...it's more personal. Susan's writing in this and the characters she has built in this book, I can hear their true voice, I can feel their feelings on a different level than the other books, I can easily laugh with them and feel the heartache just the same. There are things in this book that are similar in the others that she has written but with this one, I felt like things were more real, more relatable. And then when I laugh so hard my stomach hurts she rips into my heart and makes me reflect on things that I have personally fought through, things that have made me the woman, wife, mother that I am and... well I don't know how to explain it but this book is one that I will soon not forget, or ever for that matter. I don't know about you but I read to get away from reality, not like fairy tales and shifter types of books but I love to retreat into worlds that are too good to be true, even though it might be someone's reality out there somewhere. This book was definitely that, and the two before also were right up my alley with content. It is a fast paced, quick witted, and a bit steamy in places. If that is what you are looking for, this series has all that and maybe a bit more.
"This girl, who stirs my needs. This girl who satisfies my desires. This girl who calls me. She may just be the girl I didn't know I was looking for."
While my favorite stories from Ms.Renee are the more emotional ones (like Seven, and I'm Fine & Save Me), I also really enjoy her romantic comedies too! I found Smooched to have just the right balance of humor, heart and heat! You don't have to have read the first 2 books in the series to enjoy this, but do yourself a favor and read them all!
*I am voluntarily reviewing this book, and am grateful to Booksprout and the author for my advance reader copy.
I started reading this book when I woke up one morning around 630am and I got in trouble several times at work because I couldn’t stop reading and was letting my work slip. I ended up finishing the book when I got home that same night! By far one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Characters are relatable and situations are ones that I could actually picture happening which made me love is book even more!! I am so excited for more books to come!

My first time reading this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Total reader experience. Kim's bravado is what happens when celebrations and alcohol collide and your tormentors from high school show up. And even without the cake and the candles, sometimes birthday wishes (and really, deep down desires) come through when you least expect them to. For Kim, it's in the form of Dr. Kohen McKay and her happily-ever-after.
Short review. Funny from beginning to end. One drunken email leads to a fake relationship with real feelings. Kim and Kohn having sizzling steamy chemistry that leaps off the pages, the banter between them and how comfortable they were with each other makes you feel like they have known each other forever. The side characters are just as funny and interesting as are main leads.
This is hands down my favorite in the series! Smooched had it all. Humor, steamy scenes, drama and love! Kim is a firey independent woman who goes after what she wants without hesitation. Kohen is the boy next door, doctor with some past trauma. The two of them together make an incredible duo! Their "meet cute" story is hysterical and original. A great finish to a great series.
My first Susan Renee book. I loved it. Just the right mix of comic relief and well written. Kim and Kohen make an agreement to help each other out by being fake partners. The fake partnership soon leads to all things being very real. Can these two adjust to the changes or will they burn out just as soon as they have started? Really good read.

I want more. More of this series! More of these friends. More of these couples’ chemistry. The laughs and love continue into this book, as the previous two in the series. A drunken email is the start of a great connection that developed into stronger feeling. A fake relationship into a real one. I read this book in a just a couple days because the book just flows and you do not want to put it down.
Susan Renee is a pro at growing a series! While I loved Smooch and Smooches, Kim's story was the one I was waiting for. I spent the majority of this book laughing with tears rolling down my face and oh that ending! Wow! I really loved this series and the characters. I hope we see more from them!
A sweet love story - no cliff hanger, although this is in a series it can be read as a standalone - having said that I felt like I should have read the previous stories to understand some of the inside jokes. But an ok middle of the road story for me.

Main Characters: Kimberly Dailey & Dr. Kohen McKay
Overview: We meet Kimberly (Kim) on her birthday. She's drinking it up with her friends when some women she knew from high school stop by and just as they did in high school they begin to poke fun at Kim. Never one to let others get to her especially inebriated Kim tells them she's dating one of the best pediatric oncologists in the country.... and so begins the ball of lies that Kim is in a relationship wtih Dr. Kohen McKay.
Unbeknownst to him Kohen has his own problems. His parents are coming to visit and he's led them to believe he's living with his girlfriend. So when he gets the amusing drunk email from Kim he sees it as an opportunity to get his 'fake' girlfriend... now he just has to convince her.
What started out as fake turns into more as Kim and Kohen spend time together... but how can she tell him she wants it to be real? And how can he ask her to commit to more and make it real? What will others think when they find out their relationship started off fake?
-----------------
Concluding Thoughts: As I said this was a sweet love story from fake romance to reality; middle of the road read. Quirky fun and sunny side up. Small drama, but nothing too major.
This is the third book in the Camel club series, but could definitely be read as a stand-alone. But why would you want to? The cast of characters is hilarious! I love seeing all the friends from the previous books. This series is a swoony feel-good read that does NOT skimp on the steam. It’s in my regular reread rotation.
This is Kim’s story, and she did not disappoint. After being put down by a high school mean girl well out celebrating her birthday with friends, Kim says she’s dating the new hot doc in town and they’re practically engaged. As a follow up, she drunkenly emails Kohen to warn him. It turns out that he just so happens to need a fake girlfriend. Of course, what starts as fake does not stay that way! These two were fire together, and brought out the best in each other. This is a great hilarious series, and I promise you’ll crack up laughing.
This is the third and last book on the Smooch series. This book is about Kim and Kohan. They meet when she drunkenly emails him, because she told a high school mean girl she was dating him. Then they start a start a fake relationship, but find it hard to keep it fake. I really loved this book. It was the perfect ending to this series, and loved seeing Kim get her happily ever after. After helping her two friends get theirs. I loved watching Kim and Kohan finally realize they are meant to be. I have fallen in love with these characters, and will definitely be reading more from this author. I definitely recommend this book, and entire series. They were all super quick reads, that will check all The boxes of a perfect love story.
I just finished reading The Camel Club Series. Each was a cute, quick read with just enough steamy scenes.
In each book the author has the H give the h a unique nickname (no "babe" or "honey" generic stuff). These nicknames were cute but if any man ever called me "Flipper" (like the dolphin) during sex, I just don't think I could keep going. Kohen called Kim by this several times during the act and it just seemed weird. If it weren't for that, this likely would have been 5 stars for me.
I also would have liked to see Kohen grovel a little more in the end. I don't think he should have been forgiven that easily.
