Sven is a man who takes pride in his ability to separate himself from his emotions. He's a man who knows who he is and where he's going in life, a man who needs no one, because needing someone, anyone, is a weakness. Maggie wants the happily ever after but has never picked the right men, or stuck around long enough, to build a forever. It's always been easier to get out early, before emotions make things messy. When Maggie wakes up naked in Sven's bed, with no memory of the night before, these two must be honest about their feelings and face their fears, so they can build a future together. Will love be enough for them to get their happy ending together, or will a threat from outside strike them down before they ever have a chance?

Distraction third book in Aurora Rose Reynold’s Underground Kings series. It can be read as a standalone (each book is about a different couple). As much as I love Reynold’s sweet, steamy and quick reads, I’ve enjoyed that this series is a little different than her others. I like that it’s more suspenseful and gritty and the heroes are a little rough around the edges.

Maggie and Sven meet at his club in Vegas when Maggie shows up to confront some people about her sister. Maggie is a take charge kind of woman. Sven doesn’t know what to do with this girl. She comes back night after night, so eventually, he offers her a job. Maggie accepts. Being Sven’s personal assistant brings the two of them closer together. This isn’t your normal work affair, these two develop strong feelings for one another the more they’re around each other.
“Are you going to behave?” He laughs.
“Probably not,” I tell him honestly just as my feet find purchase on the sidewalk.
“You’re lucky I like you just the way you are,” he whispers.

Aurora is known for her insta-love. It works for her. She writes it well. I loved watching Sven and Maggie’s relationship develop. I liked them both as characters, especially Maggie. She was tough, fun, and sassy. I loved the banter they had. Their relationship was the best part of the book. The reason that it’s not rated higher for me has nothing to do with the two of them. I felt a little disconnected to the rest of the storyline and what was going on. It felt to me that it was a bit rushed and things kind skipped around a bit. Even with that, it was still an enjoyable read.

If you enjoy alpha males, strong willed woman, insta-love romance, action and steam, this is a story I would recommend. Reynolds books are always entertaining and easy, fast reads. If you’ve read the other books in this series, this is one you won’t want to miss out on, if only for that fantastic epilogue! The next book in this series will be Justin’s and I can’t wait for that one!!!
I had no idea this kind of relationship, this kind of love, was even possible, but having it now, I know I will do everything within my power to make sure I always have it.

I really hate that I'm giving such a low rating to one of my favorite authors, but this book just didn't work for me. I've been looking forward to it since the end of Obligation and it ended up being nothing like I expected.

Maggie's sister was drugged and beat up after going to a club, so Maggie takes it upon herself to go to the club each night and watch out for creeps drugging drinks. Sven, the owner, is getting annoyed at constantly having Maggie cause problems in his club so he takes the advice of his security men and offers her a job as his assistant. He wasn't expecting to fall for her, though.

Before I start what I'm sure will be just one big rant, I have to say that I did enjoy the overall story, and I liked the characters. Sven was Alpha, like all of ARR's heroes, and Maggie wasn't the annoying virgin type - she was actually pretty kick ass in the beginning. The two made a good couple and I think most people will love them.

My issues came from the delivery of the story. It didn't seem like an ARR book at all because the writing felt rushed and incomplete. The majority of the book had little time jumps, a few days here and there, and sometimes up to two weeks would be skipped. If it happened once or twice it wouldn't have bothered me, but so much of the beginning felt lost because it happened so often. Then the "I love you" came and completely shocked me because up until that point I had seen no romance between Sven and Maggie so it was really unexpected. It felt like I missed the connection that they supposedly had.

I think the biggest thing that was skipped over that annoyed me was the first night Sven and Maggie were together, the night that the synopsis talks about. Maggie couldn't remember what happened, which I understand, but we never found out what exactly happened that night through Sven's POV or Sven telling Maggie what happened. I mean, if I woke up and couldn't remember anything that happened the night before I would definitely not be as calm as Maggie was and I would be asking a shit ton of questions. There was a lot about that situation that bugged me and didn't make sense, but I won't get into it because I don't want to spoil anything.

Little things were mentioned or happened that didn't seem to fit the story, and then some of them were just never mentioned again, or ended rather fast. For example, Maggie was apparently in a relationship and yet we never met or even heard anything about her boyfriend after being told he existed, and then out of no where it was casually mentioned that they broke up. When did that happened??? It was that type of thing that made it impossible for me to get into the story.

So no, this was no where near my favorite book by this author, but I will not give up on her! There are still many books to come that I will definitely be reading and I hope I have a better experience with them. This is just my opinion about the book and I still recommend it for any fan of this author/series. It didn't work for me, but I think many people will like Maggie and Sven.

The Underground Kings series are all intertwined, but focus on different couples so they can be read as standalone. This is Maggie and Sven’s story.

Sven is a club owner in Vegas and is one of the good guys. Yes, he is a bit of a manwhore, but he is up front with the girls he hooks up and doesn’t make any promises. He has just finished hooking up with a girl when he sees Maggie for the first time.

Maggie is in the club in her pajamas, but she doesn’t care. When she learned her sister was drugged and beaten she was on a mission. She was going to find the man responsible for hurting her and make him pay. That may seem crazy or unrealistic, but that’s just the type of character Maggie is. As soon as Sven sees Maggie causing problems he calls her to his office.

Maggie is distracted by Sven, but not enough of a distraction to stop her from her mission. Maggie makes a point to come back everyday, she is going to find the man responsible for drugging girls. Maggie is a huge distraction for Sven, so he decides to take back control and hires her as his assistant.

Maggie and Sven’s connection is quick, but that doesn’t even bother me. I actually like how Reynolds delivers stories that are full of insta-love and immediate connections. It’s fun to believe that these type of men exist in real life. I actually really liked Maggie, too. She was a strong woman and was completely focused on saving her sister.

This one wasn’t a five star for me, because I never really felt a huge connection to the characters. I felt the story moved so quickly in the beginning, but just slowed down so much in the back half. I still enjoyed it, but I just wish it would have had the same momentum throughout.

If you are a fan of this series, I definitely recommend. It’s fun, sexy and suspenseful.

Audiobook review. Maggie and Sven definitely caught my attention at the end of Kai's book. I wanted to see what they were about. I liked Maggie's sass very much and I liked that Sven was attracted to a different kind of woman despite having his pick. Their tale wasn't quite what I pictured, but it kept me entertained enough to see it through.

The story sees its ups and downs with aspects that I enjoyed, like the banter between our hero and heroine and aspects that I didn't, such as Sven's unrealistic manipulations. The plot was good, though execution wasn't always consistent in strength. I liked the insight into Justin, a secondary character I've come to love. This book sets up a nice opening for his story.

The narrators did a fantastic job. Tone, inflections, and pacing were on point. However, all in all the book was in the midfield for me. I have noticed that with this author, my reviews have been all over the place with everything from love to DNF.

"I had no idea this kind of love was even possible"

Distraction is the third book in Aurora Rose Reynolds Underground Kings Series. Although the characters make appearances throughout the series, each book can be read as a stand-alone.

description

Maggie is a hard-headed, protective, take no prisoners heroine. She finds herself in a Las Vegas club looking for the person who drugged her sister. Sporting her pajama pants, she catches the eye of the club owner Sven.

Sven is a well-established character in the Underground Kings Series. Known for his playboy persona and unbelievably alpha male tendencies, the sight of Maggie on his surveillance feed causes him to pause and take note.

description

Sven and Maggie come together and form a winning combination. Of course, the road is rough as they navigate through the many forces battling against them!

description

In true Reynolds style, Sven and Maggie meet and find an instant connection. Does that bother me? Not at all! I know when I open an Aurora Rose Reynolds book that there will be an alpha male that is going to fall instantly in love with the heroine in the book. After the two main characters have been well established and have connected, the story takes me away through a tunnel of ups, downs, and crazy turns. Distraction certainly contained that winning combination. Both Sven and Maggie were well-developed characters, and their backstories made them both endearing and kept me thoroughly invested in the story. What was lacking significantly in this read, for me, was the cohesion of the plot. There were too many time lapses throughout the read, and it left me a bit perplexed on several occasions throughout the read. There were so many moments that I wanted to explore more thoroughly and yet; things were moving at such a rapid pace it was difficult for me to keep up. I only wish that I had more time to sink into this story and truly engage with the plot. Still, the appearance of other loved characters from the series was a pleasant addition and, of course, the steamy scenes were just plain HOT!!!! Additionally, the next "KING" was craftily showcased throughout the end of this read. This gave us just a taste of the greatness that is sure to come!

description

Overall, fans of the Underground Kings Series should definitely read Distraction. Despite my reservations regarding this read, I will remain a true fan of Ms. Reynolds and will always load my kindle with her work. Her gift for creating characters that I love and her use of original text are always welcome when it comes to how I want to spend my sacred reading time!

4 Distracting Stars.

This book (finally) bring us the story of Maggie and Sven. If you read the previous books you know that their relationship didn’t start… in the most conventional way. Maggie is looking for answers about her sister in order to help her, Sven wants to make sure she won’t be a problem for his business. But when they start to get closer and Sven’s world suddenly puts Maggie on risk, he realizes that he’ll do anything to protect her and keep her in his life.

description

Let me be honest, if you don’t like insta-love and completely over the top alpha males that fall hard for the heroines and let everyone know it, then you will probably not like this one.
For me, Aurora Rose Reynolds is my favorite guilty pleasure, and in her books the insta-love and the alpha heroes are more than welcome. This Underground Kings series has a little more “edgy” and dark heroes, but with the exception of the second book, I really liked them.
If you’re a fan of the author, or of just sexy heroes, this series are a good choice.

How do I dislike thee? Let me count the ways.

I dislike the way you gave me hope and took it away.
I dislike how it didn't even feel like Aurora Rose Reynolds wrote it.
I dislike how you skipped days and weeks and events for no rhyme or reason.
I dislike your inconsistency.
I dislike how Maggie was at the club for a specific reason that was forgotten the second she was hired.
I dislike how Sven didn't even try to help her find the bad guy in the beginning.
I dislike how we once again had the I want you but don't deserve you trope.
I dislike how she woke up after she was drugged and didn't ask questions and didn't receive detailed explanations either.
I dislike that the lost memories were never recovered.
I dislike how the love card got pulled before we even saw them as a couple.
I dislike how Maggie turned stupid when she met Autumn.
I dislike the way the situation got resolved with the bad guy.

But mostly I dislike the way I always come back and hope that this time it will work out.

And here's a Heath Ledger gif to make everything better.

OH MY… I freaking loved it and finished it in one sitting! It is no secret that I’m a huge fan of Aurora Rose Reynolds. There is no words that could explain how much I love this author, her writing style, her refreshing straight up romance, her memorable and loving characters and her strong alpha men who make your insides quake.

To say that I was highly anticipating the 3rd installment of the Underground Kings series would be an understatement and it was so worth the wait!

Maggie and Sven meet at his club in Las Vegas under a special circumstance. She wants justice for her sister who was drugged and beat up after going to his club. She’s a spitfire and turns Sven’s world upside down. Quickly these two develop strong feelings for one another but a threat from outside strikes and they have to face a dangerous situation with the help of a few old friends.

Maggie is incredible. She is a strong willed woman, full of sass and humour.

“I’m not a thing. I’m a human, and I’m not yours.” ...“I’m not jumping with you. Take Dumb, Dumber, or Dumbest,” I say with a nod to the three blondes, who are each looking confused as the instructors attempt to help them get into their gear. “Is that jealousy I hear in your tone, Maggie?” “No, I just don’t want to be close to you.” “If I recall correctly, you used to like being close to me,” he says quietly enough for just me to hear. “I also used to like strawberries until I found out they were the cause for the hives I kept getting,” I mutter, and he chuckles. “You always did make me laugh,” he says softly."

Ohhhhh Sven. I want one in my life *wink*. He’s a fine specimen of a complete alpha, possessive, and intense. He and Maggie are just so good together. The attraction and connection that forms between these characters is amazing. The pace and build up is delivered perfectly that allows us readers to experience it right along with the characters.

It was also great to catch up with Kenton, Autumn, Kai, Myla and Justin from the first two books in the UK Series and Asher from the Until Series. I'm looking forward to Justin and Aubrey's story next in Infatuation.

Title: Distraction
Series: Underground Kings, #3
Author: Aurora Rose Reynolds
Release date: 2nd February, 2016
Cliffhanger: No
HEA:

I’ve put off writing this review for a number of reasons. Primarily, I really didn’t want to admit to not actively enjoying it. As my experiences with the last two books in the Until series were unsuccessful, I had hoped Distraction would turn things around for ARR and myself. Maybe I put a bit too much pressure on myself to enjoy it, I’m not sure.

I usually look to Aurora Rose Reynolds when I’m looking for a read that involves sweet heroines and alpha heroes, with storylines that are easy going but nonetheless engaging. This time I found the plot rather flimsy and the relationship felt slightly forced. On top of some confusing developments, I also felt cheated at the resolution at the end.

*sigh*

OH MY GOD. CAN'T WAIT!!

EXCERPT: Sven and Maggie’s story

I wake up with my head pounding, the feel of
a bare leg over the top of mine, and a hand
wrapped around my breast. I open one eye
and close it immediately when I see dark,
golden hair, a nose, and lips I know too well.
Sven I try to recall last night, but my whole
memory is blank. My heart starts to beat
more rapidly as I notice that I’m completely
naked—and so is the man asleep on top of
me.
“What have I done?” I whisper as I recognize
that the space between my legs is sore
and wet. Tears fill my eyes as I realize that the
thing I promised myself I would only give to
my husband has been given to a man who
has had more partners in and out of his bed
than he can even count. And the worst part is
that I don’t remember anything.

I always wanted to read the books of this author. This is my first and not the last. Wonderful heroes and fabulous and funny love story. These are the strongest points of the book.

“You’re such a pain in the ass,” he gripes. “Yeah, and you’re Mr. Perfect,”

About the plot: Maggie meets Sven when she comes to his nightclub to find out something about who is behind the abuse of her sister. She is determined, and despite the lack of help, appears a club every night and makes turmoil. He doesn't know what to do with her and after suggestions decides to give her personal assistant job, so that he can control her. The more time they spend together, and the more they got to know themselves, they became more closer to each other. First, friendship and then a crazy feeling. The twist in the book begins when she wakes up naked in Sven's bed, with no memory of the night before.

Final thoughts: This book has many layers of small and larger threads. What I liked most of all is the characters and interactions between them. Very funny, tough and sassy heroine is my favorite. And grumpy, charming and completely in love hero is right on. They have lots of fun together. Their arguments are highly entertaining. And I love them together.

“Say‘fuck,’” he challenges me with a raise of his brow.
“Frick.” I smile, pulling my leg away from his when it seems he’s not going to move.
“That’s not the same thing.”
“Says who ? Everyday , words are added to the English language. Who’s to say that ‘frick’ won’t mean the word you said in a few years?”

Unfortunately, at a time when our heroine loses a hot night in her memory, I get lost too. I feel that I also missed something. Then the book is changing and takes quite a different turn. Not bad, just different. It's more suspenseful and no longer just refers to the main characters. Why is this a problem for me? Because I totally love the first part and the love story which growing up between them.

This is my first book of the author. Although not the highest rating, I still like her writing style. Its easy and holding attention. I'm pretty sure that I reach for more books of this author.

Distraction is a book I’m very conflicted about.

***Bads***
While it had an enticing plot line, the characters were underdeveloped. I had a hard time relating to any of them. Maggie’s personality was strange. Several things seemed to happen effortlessly. For example, Maggie’s entrance in Sven’s club in her pj’s; her quit of modeling; her sexual inexperience which is not consistent with her confidence with men and her sassy attitude; Sven buying a brand new, much bigger house for him and Maggie. But the most awkward moment in the book for me was when Maggie woke up in Sven’s bed with no memories of having spent the night with him. I truly thought I had missed a part. It's not the idea but the execution that troubled me.

***Goods***
I enjoyed the inner journey of Sven’s transformation, his possessiveness of Maggie and his softer side. Also, I liked that the heroine was a plus-size model, totally juicy, beautiful and confident with her body. I appreciated that this book dealt with the challenging topic of addiction in drugs and the devastating aftermath.

***Overall***
It‘s a book about finding yourself as you fall in love. The story starts off really strong and captures you, but I’ll admit it kind of loses its steam towards the middle, and my ride towards the end was a bit nonchalant, but it was still a decent read.

This book started off good for me. I really liked Maggie’s quirky personality and the way she and Sven interacted with one another.

Sadly, this book was only okay for me for a couple of reasons. First, I felt like the story was not developed enough and there were huge chunks missing. The story kept moving forward without properly filling me in on what was happening.

Secondly, the way Sven and Maggie got together just didn’t work for me. I’m actually surprised the author wrote it that way. It made it hard for me to “catch up” to how Sven was feeling, much the same way it was for Maggie. I couldn’t get past the two of them avoiding one another one day to being madly in love the next.

Overall, an okay read for me.

Well, I am disappointed. I was expecting more from ARR, but I don't know what happened.
The book was going to fast and some things just skipped around a bit and at some point I didn't know what I was reading so I keep going backward, forward trying to understand what did I miss. The best part of book was Justin. He is so hilarious.

"Instructor was probably more interested in you than keeping the population of Vegas safe."

" 'We're in the kitchen, though it doesn't surprise me that you found the women before you
found us.'
'Pussy magnet.' he taps his nose..."

Can't wait for his book.

Sven has it all, looks, money, and women. He doesn't form attachments, women are for one thing and they know the score as soon as they walk through his door. He doesn't plan to change that for anyone. When he sees Maggie in pajamas, in his club, yelling at two men he sees red. Maggie is there trying to find the men who drugged and beat up her sister. Sven needs her to leave, she is bad for business.

Undeterred Maggie shows up every night and Sven tirelessly tries to get her out of his club. Realizing nothing is going to work, he hires Maggie as his assistant. Maggie is an enigma and Sven is falling hard for her, he realizes she is his it. One night everything changes and a betrayal within his club has Sven making Maggie his. He will protect her with his life, but finding out who betrayed him is another matter altogether.

***Audible version was really good, captured the characters.

I have been waiting for Sven's book since Until July. By far my favorite in the Underground Kings series. Sven is a bit darker and has a surprising past. Maggie is a hoot, she doesn't back down and I was laughing throughout this book. Instant favorite.

Here's my issues review. I was really looking forward to this, who doesn't love a manwhore who falls for his girl and has a total change of heart? So to say I was disappointed by Distraction would be an understatement.

When I read a book I want mostly show and very little tell, instead I got the opposite here, all the good bits happened off the damn page. The attempt at suspense just fizzled to nothing - all these badasses chomping at the bit to go get the bad guy and that amounted a cop-out and a big fat zilch. Maggie is a black belt and is a total badass in the beginning of the book, yet is treated like a simpering, helpless female and she just goes along with it. What??

Too many things in the story were too easily and conveniently dismissed.

I found this really frustrating, the bones were there for a terrific read but without the fleshing out it so desperately needed it all fell rather flat and didn't deliver.

dis·trac·tion (/dəˈstrakSH(ə)n/) a thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else.

Distraction by Aurora Reynolds is the third installment of Underground Kings Series and can be read as a standalone but I would urge readers to read the first two books since previous characters makes an appearance in this book. I loved the first two books of this series but for Distraction I liked the book but didn't loved it. For some reason, the characters couldn't pull me into the storyline as I would have expected.

photo 096f5b7826ecf76c66aeb1b6023341_zpsbu6ig44y.gif “She guards herself so closely, never allowing herself to be vulnerable for anyone. But I won’t accept anything less than all of her. I want her— no, need her— to feel for me what I feel for her.”

I usually don't mind the insta-lust/love in most stories but for some reason it didn't work for me with the story of Maggie and Sven. Their relationship felt so rushed that it felt so sudden for me to have these characters exchange the "The I Love You's ". Also, I was a bit weirded out when Sven and Maggie first hooked up because I just couldn't fathom the idea of why Sven continued the sexual act knowing that Maggie was not in the proper state of mind. With that being said, the relationship of Sven and Maggie was this insta-love from that moment on. As these two continued to build their relationship, Maggie's younger sister and Sven's rival soon becomes a distraction for these two.

Family has always been an important aspect in Maggie's life. She loves her parents and sister dearly. And so when her sister's drug problem gets out of hand, Maggie is always there to fix it. And so when Sven makes an ultimatum to Maggie to choose her sister or him, what will she choose? Also while Sven is being distracted by his love and protectiveness of Maggie, will this distraction be his downfall when an enemy has his target on taking down Sven?

Overall, Distraction was just an okay read. I didn't hate it. I didn't love it. It was just alright. I just didn't get the pull to fall in love with these characters while the multiple ongoing distractions were occurring. But what I did love was the epilogue. Personally, that was my favorite part of this book. Though this book may not be my favorite of Aurora's, other readers might love this book. So if you are a fan of a possessive and protective alpha male and the whole insta-love romance then this book might be for you.

3 Slightly Disappointed Stars

It pains me to say this BUT this book waa nowhere upto standard for Reynolds.
I have viewed this series sorr of like the Until Series "cousin" books, but this one in my opinion wasn't even on the same family tree!

I enjoyed Sven and Maggies characters on the surface but there was no depth to them. major events happened and were glossed over and sometimes whole weeks were skipped and we were just expected to go with it!

The story felt choppy, incomplete and I may be alone in thinking ths, but - completely and utterly anticlimactic.... nothing happened! it would feel as though it was goong to build up to something and then absolutely nothing!

By the 80% mark I was already over Sven and Maggie and praying that Reynolds redeems herself with Justin and Aubrey.

As a loyal fan, I will most definitely continue on with the series but Sven and Maggie were a read only once story for me.

I have not met many aurora rose Reynolds books that I didn't like! "Distraction " was good. True to her writing style, she gave us Sven, an alpha male who loves his woman with everything he has. However, prior to meeting her, Sven is a player and there is a sex scene with another woman which brought my rating down. The rest of the story was sweet and kept my attention throughout.

Safety- sex scene with ow prior to meeting heroine. Manwhore references

5 Sven & Maggie Stars

I've re read this book so many times...a little history of reviews follows....

Initially read 2016.

May 2020
My Aurora Rose Reynolds re-readathon via audible is well underway. I read this book in 2016. Have re read it a couple of times because it’s enjoyable, sexy, has some drama and a totally alpha Hero. Then I decided to listen to Sebastian York & Lidia Dornet narrate it as a little lockdown treat to myself. Perfect escapism.
Is Sven , our rich, hot Vegas club owner, a little over the top? Yes. Yes he is and I love it. Maggie is a gorgeous heroine who keeps Sven on his toes. When Maggie's sister Morgan ends up hurt after being at Sven's nightclub , Maggie sets out to put an end to this happening to any other girl. Initially Sven finds her highly irritating - hot , but irritating.

Eventually though , the playboy of Vegas falls hard for the gorgeous , determined girl who is hell bent on getting answers. They both end up in danger and the plot moves quickly.

I loved both Maggie and Sven. They go perfectly together and this book remains one of my 'go to' comfort reads.

Each of the books in this series is easily read as a standalone.

Re read / listened to in Oct 2021. This book is one of my most favourites by ARR. Along with Until November it's one of my go to books. Nothing quite like a hot alpha hero and a kick ass heroine. It's still 5 sparkling , glorious stars.

Re read / Listened to in October 2023. Still love this series and this story. Each time I re read or listen , I get completely absorbed and leave real life behind for a little while. In the Underground Kings World , the bad guys always get their comeuppance and there is always a gloriously romantic and gorgeous happy ending.

This is another fantastic read by ARR! I love every single book she has written so far and this one was no different! Love her Alpha's, love the woman they love and the stories of their lives! After reading the sneak peek into the next book at the end of this one, I can't hardly wait!!!

Well...I'm a little bit torn about what to rate this one. It started out great, eventhough the whole virgin storyline does get a bit old sometimes, in this case, I could understand why the heroine was how she was. Yes, the hero is a former manwhore, and yes he does have sex with another woman in the first scene, but he doesn't sleep with any other women, once he's met the heroine. He doesn't even look at them, and the heroine is just his assistent/friend. I actually liked him a lot. I also liked the heroine. She was fun and feisty and I was enjoying their banter.

Then things changed. After the hero and heroine get together, she just changes into this timid girl, and I just didn't get it. Gone was the feisty funny heroine. I was really bummed by this ! It happens gradually, but it just seemed like a whole different heroine to me. Also...the crying...omg, there were eyes filling on every freaking page. It really started to annoy me. She should go to the doctor, because I think she has an eyeproblem !! What also pissed me off, was the no condom use.

This wasn't as insta-lovy as I'm used to by this author...so that was actually a plus. The MC's actually start out as friends and I really appreciated that..although it did miss a bit of the ott alpha-ness. I liked it in the other books...Sven was still alpha, just not as much as the others, I think.

So...I'm a bit dissapointed. It felt like a different kind of book...like a different series. Maybe it's just me...I don't know.

3 stars from me....and I will definitely keep reading books by this author, because usually I love them ! This couple was just not my favorite

It's more a 4.25 star but hey I loved this hero. She was going to get some answers from the club owner where her sister disappeared from. The hero Sven sees her, wants her but tries to fight it. He tries to play it cool ( yes that was an epic fail). Then after she is drugged by another person the hero unwillingly takes her virginity. To me this was rape. She was not able to remember their first time as a result and the hero feel like shit. Still it was hard for me to read and when the hero freaks out I am sooo PISSED! How dare he be mad at her! She was totally innocent then more drama. Some because of her sister but more because of her stalker. So much happens to these characters that is was hard to follow without having read the other books in this series. We got some closure for some others in this series and found out what happened to the other couples. A lot of these characters have gone thru hell. It's one of the better book by this author but it touches on some hard subjects. Read with caution. No cheating in this book when he finds her that's it for him. They also use condoms.

4.5 stars

I am surprised at how much I loved this book. While I have liked the last 2 books in this series I haven't loved them like the books in the Until series but this was awesome. It was just an easy and fun read with a great bossy and protective alpha and a sweet and fun heroine. Highly recommend.

Floved this

I have read Aurora 's books and Base this review without comparison to others I have read although I loved those to.

Right from the beginning your pulled in as your taken to a scene in Sven's childhood from that point on I was gripped and intrigued as the plot moved to the current Sven with his connections and his reputation and how Maggie came onto the scene.

I read this in one sitting, Aurora never disappoints.

Loved the characters in Distraction, Mags is one sassy, curvy woman with a take no shit attitude, loved her, Sven certainly didn't know what had hit him when this woman with attitude walked into his life.

Sven is a play boy, club owner has a reputation with the ladies that has them queuing at his door.

All things change though when Mags bursts into his life literally, flipping his world around.

This is an alpha read so you get a hot bossy male who would lay his life down for his woman which brings on the swooning.

A read filled with likeable characters, drama, humour, danger, swoon worthy moments an all round hot package read.

Distraction finishes with two chapters of the next book leaving a disappointment because I definitely could of carried on reading so now I'm looking forward to Aubrey & Justin's story and following the series.

Recommended alpha read.

If you've read Until Nico, you'd remember Nico had a manwhore friend, who owned clubs in Vegas. Yep, this was H.

Not sure how to think about this book. I got H was a manwhore, but I didn't need the vivid image how he played women. Fortunately, he was celibate after met h.

My main issue about this book was how they made love first time. I would love this book more if the author at least gave us the description from H's POV.

And this book would be better if the author explained to us who H's enemy was, rather than skip it because the previous books had mentioned already. I didn't read any of them.
