A bounty hunter, a panther, and an incubus walk into a bar…
As soon as I hear about Eranear, a bail jumper who’s supposedly the ungettable get, I know I have to be the one to bring him in. After all, I never miss a mark. But Eranear isn’t what he seems. Men and women both seem to be falling all over themselves to be near him. Standing in my way.
And to make things worse, my best friend, Tyler, is telling me to steer clear of the huge payday Eranear will give me. He’s never tried to talk me out of a job before. What’s up with him?
When I end up at a bar trying to track down the bail jumper, a panther shifter, Gage, intervenes, and blows open my world to the gritty, dark existence of shifters, demons, and more. Not to mention revealing my best friend has been keeping secrets.
Gage and Tyler clue me into the real challenge I have in tracking Eranear. How does one trap an incubus?
Tyler, Eranear, and Gage are opening my world. And they may even be trying to pry open my heart.
I live my life job to job, no roots, no commitments, and no connections. What the hell am I going to do with these three men vying for my attention? Especially when my life may depend on them?
This is book one of six in the Midnight Huntress series. This is a romance where the female main character has more than one love interest.
Decent enough read with Ryanne as this badass, give no fucks bounty hunter. She has her lovable, nerdy sidekick Tyler with whom she's secretly lusting after. Ryanne locks in on a bounty and along the way, runs into Gage, an agent with the Supernatural Enforcement Agency. You have the somewhat of a surprise mate, people trying to kill our h and surprises unveiled about our h. I get Ryanne's had a shit childhood but she's too OTT in her "look at me I'm a badass" persona. Not differentiated enough from other stories out there to make me want to continue in the series.
Exciting idea but I found myself getting frustrated and disappointed with ryanne when she learned about supes. She just let it all go and accepted it all so fast! Her life long best friend and partner has been keeping an entire part of himself a secret from her and she wasn’t even mad for a second?! Wtf? She should have been pissed of for hurt but she acted like it was nothing. It didn’t seem to fit with her character. Her character also seemed to be all over the place. Strong and independent one second, bending and caving to the men the next. It didn’t fit.
I liked the story line and the characters in this book. It's fast paced but still informative enough to let the characters reveal their quarks and personality. Definitely a series I will continue reading.
I am speechless This book has left me with so many questions. It has kept me on the edge of my seat this is the type of book that you wish you hadn't found till the whole series is complete because Piper Fox you are a minx!! You have left me wanting no yearning no needing the next book to find out what is going to happen to these people. I don’t want to give anything away but let me tell you Ryanne is confident, sassy, feisty and pure sex on legs!!!!!! There is so much going on this book but i just don’t know where to begin but I don’t wanna ruin it for anybody but telling you the story plot because you might have a different favourite to me oh it’s so hard!!! Please tell me to book 2 is not far away because you have me longing for more.

This very well-written book 2 in The Midnight Huntress Book Series is a good book with great characters. This book builds a great world and well-fleshed out characters and female lead who does not need to choose from her suiters. These characters have depth and strength in this action-packed story. It has twists, turns, intrigue, suspense, chemistry, romance, and love. This must read story is a good continuation of the story. This is in a collection of fun-sized romance stories in the paranormal mates genre. This story include steamy scenes between sexy alpha males and their sassy, strong-willed mate. This better than the first book.

I enjoyed this introduction to the Midnight Huntress series. Much of the story introduces and describes the main characters with the primary focus on Ryanne. She is a hunter who spends her life picking up bad guys who are skipping bail or escaping from prison. She has no knowledge of where she comes from or who she is, other than being a tough, strong woman who does not put up with anything, but especially rotten men. There was a lot of action in this story that clued Ryanne in on paranormal activities and entities and that things she had believed her whole life were not the full reality of the world. Nice start.

So this book seems super fast pace. Like they were just throwing everything at us and telling us to hold their beer 😂 The smut bro yas and then there's the mystery. We find out one thing that was teased about throughout the book then boom we get another couple questions added. Like how many mates does she have? Do they get added throughout the series or are the three in the beginning it? Honestly the only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because its more like a novela and was just very quick 😥 I think this book only took me like a hour to finish and I wasn't prepared for that. Besides that nothing terrible about this. Not really something to reread either though.
I kept getting turned off with her references towards her being over weight. This should have been labeled as BBW. She is confident, if not dangerously, risky in her professional life but weak in her personal life. If she had embraced her curves perhaps I would have enjoyed it more. It just made me cringe & took me out of the story. The sudden interest of hot, hard, fit men didn't fit without there being some sort of catalyst to explain it. She hasn't changed, so why did this? I mean magic, awakening, hormones, etc. not her appearance. I wanted a bad @ss female story, not someone so neg focused on her body.
I didn't necessarily know if I'd like this book or not even though it's my favorite type of genre because I usually have bad luck with authors who have 3 letters in their last name I have no clue why but that's how it goes for me. I'm glad i took a chance on this one I was pleasantly surprised. I loved this book it hit everything I want in a book usually like sexy scenes and kick butt heroines. It would of been a 5 star if the author just made it one book if all the rest of the books are as short as this one. Anywho highly recommended to those who love a good rh read. Though this thought and rating could change once I've read the series as a whole.
Ryanne is a bounty hunter thinking about bringing in Eranear, but Tyler asks her to keep out of it. Since he has never done that before, maybe she should listen or find out what his reason is. But that big payout is hard to resist.
Asking questions at a bar to track down the slippery bail jumper, Gage, a panther shifter, intervenes and gives up some secrets: Eranear is actually an incubus. Are Tyler, Eranear, and Gage opening her eyes to more than the world of the paranormal? Do they have another interest that involves her?
Bounty Hunter, Wolf, Panther, Bear, Demigod oh my. Called is an amazingly written story filled with suspense, danger and intrigue that will have pulled into the story of Tyler and Ryanne who are bounty hunters that are thrown into a world of mystical creatures/ shifters. And just when you think the story is going to go one way, there are twist and turns and more danger.
This is a great beginning to the series that keeps you in the story page after page.

I debated reading this work and I am glad that I reconsidered and read it. It was fantastic and I found it impossible to put down. There were so many elements to this work that I loved; paranormal, greasy food, bounty hunting and more. I enjoyed the different view of the paranormal the author took and I’m excited to see what happens next. I couldn’t put this work down and am looking forward to reading more in this series.
I give this a five out of five stars.

I was looking for another RH series and this was recommended. It was a good read and have to love the curvy girl power that Ryanne has going on. Nice twist with the supernatural and can't wait to see where this all goes. You can see that she has had some hard-knocks in life and it is wonderful see the friendship between Tyler and her. This is a fairly easy read, and enough of a story to make me want to read the next in series. It is quick ending, so makes you want to continue the story.
The characters are two dimensional and there's no real information about anyone in this book. The mfc is a smug, condescending bi**h, and because we have no background or any real way to connect to her it just made her come across as childish and irrational. I'm gonna try the next book cause the idea seems descent hopefully the author will give us more to connect with otherwise this series will be a DNF for me.

This was an exciting series opener that, to the main character Ryanne's shock, involved all things paranormal ;) We get to meet an eclectic group of men that end up in her sphere, with sparks flying. Expect action, danger, swagger, mystery, shocks and some steam to keep you glued, first page to last in this fun read. I can't wait for the next installment to see how things continue for Ryanne.
I downloaded Called, the first novella (almost 100 pages) of the Midnight Huntress series, as a free novella from Amazon. A wonderful series starter. I was drawn in by the interesting ploy, although I did find Ryanne too trusting and too naïve on occasion, which made a strange contrast to her bouts of bounty hunter badassery. Nice blend of characters and I like where the storyline is going.
The book wasn't horrible, but I will not be reading the next book in the series -
The storyline itself is average, the MC's character isn't consistent - the story isn't believable (I know that it is a fantasy, but usually other books make it seem like it COULD work if you use your imagination)
I didn't realize until I was already reading this that these are actually short novels. So far I'm totally hooked though, and am going to be purging these all tonight!
The bounty hunter in this book is definitely more than she first appeared, as is everything she thought she ever knew!
I really enjoy reading these types of books. It moved a bit quicker than most but made for a very enjoyable read. It is always a huge plus to read a book that represents a more realistic view of what the average woman is built like. These great men recognized a great woman even though she wasn't a skinny supermodel.
Whoa ... get ready to saddle up for this exciting adventure! A different take on Shifters with plenty of excitement and danger, along with some hawt romantic moments. On to book two...
Overall it was an enjoyable read that went by quite fast, especially towards the end, but I did have a slight issue with Gage and the lack of communication and time between important stages in a so called “relationship/mating”, or what comes before.
What a rude awakening to the world of supes! So many different characters to delve into and so many different influences on the FMC. She is one badass woman! Great book with so much potential!
Dropped a star due to some inconsistencies in the FMC's character. Also, things seem to be happening very quickly and the emotions are getting lost in the mix, making things seem rushed. I'm intrigued enough to try book 2
This is the second series by Piper I’m reading, the first was the Forbidden Fates series that she co-wrote with Candice Bundy. It seems that PNR are her thing and I love it so far. This was a nice intro into the world and I’m definitely going to check out book 2!
I didn’t start loving this until almost the 3/4 mark. It was a bit hokey to start. It has some supernatural, some romance, some stream , and a kick-ass female protagonist. Unfortunately, it also has a cliffhanger. 2023 nursery rhyme challenge-called
the character building was v lacking. it made the mfc seem irrational and annoying. the men as usually were just there. i want to know more but i’m not willing to cont with these characters. won’t cont the series.
