◆◆◆The first book in a series, is a tale well told with harrowing chases, writing that paints pictures in your head, characters that you truly care about and a plot full of twists that keeps you turning the page. - The Tolucan Times ◆◆◆
Imen of Atlantis was the kindle book which I read recently.
The reason behind picking this book.... The title and the blurb. The description of the book intrigued me to pick this up.The cover of the book is too attractive!
Coming to my experience.... The story was good.I won't say it was perfect because in the start it confused me because of multiple characters and multiple POVs so it took time for me to link and remember characters.
But once I established that link, the story felt good. The way in which the characters are developed was felt like I am watching a movie.
The uniqueness of each characters and their personalities were written in a very beautiful way.
The language may be difficult for the newbies but if one reads it with concentration than it is not that tough.
The pace of the story was very well maintained by the author and the narration done is also very good.
I would like to say that, this will be a treat for the people who loves historical fiction kinda books.
I was curious to see how this book would present historical fiction-fantasy kind of a setup and to say the least,I loved it...
After having read My Fair Assassin trilogy, it was definitely a hard standard to meet my expectations but THIS book did it!
The language is pretty simple and usage of some phrases to let us know the dialect was quite interesting. Initially, I found it confusing because there were around 3 POVs but they made sense as the story progressed. The world building was good but I guess it was centred a bit too much around the lives of the ten characters that were introduced to us...maybe the upcoming books have more info..?! The Imen i.e the forest dwelling magical creatures are somewhat mythical, sacred and revered...I guess we'll unravel more tidbits in the books to come :) I felt Roni, one of the Imen, was left abruptly hanging with her end of the story towards the end of the book, but maybe that's the suspense for the sequel...!?
I liked that there's no fake "concern" but genuine friendship was portrayed and after a point, even they (#iykyk)lost hope but still felt guilty and considered themselves responsible for their friend's death :(
I didn't like King Audun and Korin...let's see how they turn out further down the series!
Princess dearest is not the 'proper' young lady she seems to showcase🤣🧐
All in all, there's a lot of suspense mixed in with lust, greed, thrill and drama...
The messages I could take away were "haste makes waste" & "greed makes man blind, foolish and an easy prey for death"
Grab yourselves this book now to enjoy the world of Imen as much as I did!
If you enjoy multiple POVs and fantasy with so much happening around that getting lost is very much possible, Imen of Atlantis could be your next pick. This story shifts between the mystical creatures of Imen who have healing powers that are a result of a curse and then Bono, a creep, and lastly, Prince Eyvind. There is a lot to be unraveled and rightfully so, as this is only the first book in the series. Overall, a decent attempt.
Imen of Atlantis is a book that revolves around two stories. The story of Prince Eyvind, the son of King Audun, ruler of the kingdom of Carron. King Audun is determined to end their rivalry with the Carthinia through the marriage between Evyind and the princess Adina.
On the other side, the story is about Imen the mythical creatures who live mysteriously inside the forest of Carron. They heal the people who find themselves in pain and help them in the forest. One day these creatures met Evyind who is in distress and they help him to heal. Roni is one of the members of the mythical creatures intrigued by the Evyind. And she does something that they are forbidden to do.
There is also a Bomo, an ogre who is always after the gold. One day unexpectedly witnesses the mythical creatures healing the people and vanishing into the forest. And he is so fascinated by Roni's beauty. So he started lurking all over forest trees trying to find those mythical creatures' hidden place.
Imen's are not born with magical powers and they are bound to this duty as penance to their past sins. What are their sins? Why are they being punished? Is the marriage of Eyvind and Adina only for a peaceful settlement between two nations or are there any hidden motives? Will Bomo succeed?
So many questions. The plot is really so interesting. The language is easy to read. But multi POV's confused me sometimes. The overall world-building & story is so promising. Loved the suspense in the story and the friendship between Prince and his Imperial knights. I finished this book in one go. This is only the first book in the series. Can't wait to read the next book.
I usually don't read fantasy books but when I found this book on Kindle Unlimited wanna give it a try.
Roni has an unusual responsibility: answering distress calls from travelers in the forest above the mythical land where she lives. One such day as she's healing a stranger Eyvind and is completely enamored by him and as she flips through his mind and memories, she begins to become enthralled by the above world. When she realizes who the stranger is, Roni knows if she continues delving into his memories it could mean banishment if it doesn't already. She had no idea the changes in her life that will now occur. Dive into this electrifying exciting and adventure filled fantasy series to find out!
I honestly cannot resist reading Fantasy novel because they take you a unique world you have never imagined, and i think the author has achieved that through this book! This book is refreshingly action packed and exciting, it is not without its flaws i had to read the first few chapters carefully so that i can get into the plot, but once i was IN!I honestly cannot stress how frighteningly beautiful this read was for me. It was an enchanting and endearing read from first to last page. The beauty of this book is is that it delivers information in a precise way without boring you,its attention to detail is good.I genuinely appreciate the tone of writing, found the writing and language quite approchable. I was so invested into the plot progression along with Roni, the multiple POV narration added new dimension to the plot. Though erratic at the start it turned out to be pretty good.
I absolutely loved the fast paced unique world building and narrative bringing together such wonderful characters to life. After finishing it i realized how much of a trance i was in when i looked up and noticed it was evening and i have been reading for hours.

"Imen of Atlantis:Bitten" by Tony D'urso and S. K. R is the first installment in the series. It has two parallel stories - one is the story of Imens, the mythical creatures who live in the forest of Carron. . Imens are helpful creatures who answer to the distress call of people. Roni, our protagonist is one among them. On other side is the story of , the son of King Audun. Mythical creatures, magical powers, mysteries lurking around, plot twists, enthralling moments, strong characters, alluring plot line makes the volume 1 enticing and makes the readers excited for the next part. Even though at times, especially at the start it felt too perplexing to connect the dots as it felt like running through a maze of characters, slowly but steadily it started unraveling itself. You must read this captivating novel to feel the adrenaline rush. The book takes the readers on a roller coaster ride with twists and turns and mysteries. The characters are very well written and the narration gives you a sense of actually being present in the book. The novel at places is almost graphic, painting a picture with beautiful words. BOOK REVIEW BOOK - IMEN OF ATLANTIS - BITTEN AUTHOR- TONY DURSO GENRE - FANTASY FICTION
This is my first read by the author and I'm impressed with the honesty and transparency with which his characters are portrayed in the plot.
The book is about the mythical creatures who are called Imen. They dwell in the forest and are considered scared. Fantasy book is incomplete without magic and this book also gives us taste of it. There are several characters in the book and the plots and subplots. It was bit difficult for me to follow in the beginning but I slowly got the hang of it.
Each character reveals a unique charactertic and personality which was either Appealed or appaled me. Well, that's what makes this book genuine. It has various elements like greed for power, lust and lots of suspense which kept me hooked. Though I was left with unanswered questions which piqued me, hoping to unravel more in the author's upcoming books.
A Must Read for all fantasy fiction lovers or anyone who is thinking of trying this genre out. Language is lucid and easy to follow.
Imen of Atlantis: Bitten written by Tony D'Urso and S.K.R.
Pages- 258
Genre- Children's Literature and Fiction
The story of this novel is different and inventive which captivated me to it. The narrative roams around Roni who holds the duty to reply to calls from tourists in the woodland and figure out their difficulties. One day, a clash with a stranger will cause some difficulties for her. Who is that stranger? What consequences will she face after she clashes with that stranger? Read this novel to discover. This narrative substitutes the metaphysical creatures of Imen, who maintain recovering capacities due to a curse, Bono, a creep, and Prince Eyvind. This is only the first novel in the series, there is plenty to be uncovered.
The language is clear and simple to pursue. The cover of this book is quite attractive which draws it towards itself. Its title is also quite appropriate. Overall a good book that can be liked by fantasy lovers.

Imen of Atlantis: Bitten is the first book in the series written by Tony D'urso and S. R. K. It's about magical beings named Imens who can cure people. I love reading about mythical creatures, the magical animals and this one was a perfect read for me. Even though the story was confusing at first because of many characters introduced, it became more easy while reading on and I really enjoyed reading the first part. All characters are well written. Especially, Roni's character. Plot twists are amazing as well. Iam eager to read the next part in the series which I hope will be released soon. I recommend this book to the fans of historical fantasy fiction.
This is an amazing book it's a fictional historical genre and very involving making it a page turner . Basically the protagonist Roni , is someone who deals with the problems of people in a forest but one call changes everything and created a problem for her . What was that? And was she able to solve it ? The story is kind of new making it a page turner the characters are very well explained and everything is very detailed I really enjoyed reading this book . Ok, so i wont give too much away with this one but i got it for my husband who read it and he says it was a really good read. If you like a bit of magic and mystery this one would be perfect for you. There is a great a tradgey in this one, which is so unexpected! A must read.
Imen of Atlantis: Bitten is an enthralling dive into a world of mystery and adventure. The characters are compelling, and the plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat. A fantastic start to a promising series. Highly recommend for any fantasy lover. Five stars!
I chose this book as the reviews were good and I love the genre. However this was the biggest disappointment ever. Not sure who the main character was supposed to be, the plot line seemed to have been written by someone in Key Stage 2 and none of the characters were endearing. It was cringeworthy and I won't be reading any more by this author.
A concise text on historical fiction-fantasy in the simple language looks quite interesting in this piece of text of the author through the introduction of ten characters.
Inclusion of the mythical, sacred and revered Imen i.e the forest-dwelling magical creatures followed by a clear illustration of genuine friendship is portrayed blended with lust, greed, thrill and drama.
Imens are not born with magical powers but the result of penance for their past sins. A creative plot of their sins, punishment and the marriage of Eyvind and Adina like hidden motives brings the plot very attractive.
‘Imen of Atlantis Bitten’ is an solid book! What I enjoyed most is S.K.R.’s and Tony D’Urso’s narrative; which offers the reader a glimpse into the internal dialogue and motives of the characters. I think this style paints rich, vibrant scenes.
I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. Five wholehearted stars!
