JENNERCIDE: A whistle-blower goes too far

Rate this book
Mickey doesn't often make a mistake, but this time it's a bad one and a man dies. Not that Mickey knew Dr Jenner very well, or even understood what the scientist was asking him to do. Mickey had been told the Doctor worked for a multi-national food and chemical company, and that he had got himself in trouble for being a 'whistle-blower', but as to what secrets the researcher knew, or what damage it could cause, Mickey had no idea. But then he finds outs. Mickey goes to see the family and finds they are being harassed. The Doctor is dead but the persecution goes on. Mickey feels sorry for them. It's a dangerous emotion. At first, all he wants to know is who killed Dr Jenner, but investigating that, leads Mickey deeper and deeper into the world of food, trading, chemicals and even Genetically Modified food and seeds. There's big money at stake. Some companies will stop at nothing to make a profit. Is this what Dr Jenner found out? Is this why there's such a crusade against him, his family, and his company? Mickey can't help but get involved. He wants to do what's right, especially after his girlfriend Melia is attacked too. He has to protect her. If only she wasn't pregnant!

Born in the Delta, south west of England where the curlews fly and the marigolds vanish, Mike quickly read through his local library and went looking for where the Industrial Revolution started in Britain. He arrived in Manchester in 1974, carried on his education at the local Polytechnic and was thrilled to be encouraged to read books and talk about them: writing the essays, however, was a chore.
After a bit of teaching and years of Community Development, (where he helped people do what they wanted to do but sometimes didn't know it), he moved on into semi-retirement and found the time to construct more than one novel. Fashioning stories out of the clay of mortal men and the dust from the Inner City streets, he spins yarns that are always partly true but mostly happen in a universe where being 'fair' is fine, and being generous is expected. It's a moral place (with no swearing.)
Sorry if that's confusing for people, such as; the 'Mickey from Manchester' series is not set in Real Manchester. It's more like a Mythical Manchester or a Make-Believe Manchester.
And his real name's not 'Mickey' !

A rollercoaster of a thriller you won't want to miss! From the get-go, I was hooked by this suspenseful tale that plunges you into the dark underbelly of corporate secrets and intrigue. Mickey finds himself caught up in a deadly conspiracy that starts with a simple mistake but quickly escalates into a heart-pounding adventure.

Why should you read it? Well, it's a fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat thriller that tackles important themes like corporate greed and the price of doing what's right. The characters are well-developed, and Mickey's determination to uncover the truth, especially after his girlfriend Melia is attacked, will keep you rooting for him throughout. Jennercide is a nail-biting journey into a world of danger and moral dilemmas, and I couldn't put it down.
