When an erotic author got vanished, Detective David Fox went on a one-man mission to find her and discover the reason of her abduction.
On the highway, her automobile was discovered, but her corpse was never located. Her friends and opponents all had secrets of their own as he searched for the truth. After his loyal sidekick Collins made an unexpected discovery about the victim, their inquiry took on a new course.
Dignitaries got involved; desperation ensued. Will Fox be able to catch the criminal on time?
All in all, a stupid book. What it lacked in depth and craft, it more than made up in poor editing. Apparently this was the first book in a series. I wonder if anyone goes on to read another. I won't.
I rarely give less than four stars to a book, but this book just did not do anything for me. The mystery was decent, but the characters were lackluster. I could not relate to the characters. Relating to the characters in a book is important to me as the reader, and these characters just did not have it. The editing was also terrible, which made the book harder to read (this probably contributed to my distaste for the book). Some readers may enjoy it, but it was not my cup of tea.
This book was an absolute waste of time. The only reason I did not DNF this book was because of how short it was. The writing didn’t make sense in a lot of parts and there were many gramatical mistakes. It was hard to keep track of all the different characters and their relationships to each other.
What a load of absolute tosh! Must be the worst book I have read this year! The writing is abysmal, and either the book was written in a foreign language and translated, or English is not the author's first language. Grammar is totally wrong, and genders are confused. He being used for female and she being used for male. A voice is described as "muscular". "Timmy grinned his teeth"
I can't believe I read this to the end, I should have followed my initial instinct and DNF in the first chapter.
I cannot recommend and if I could give a minus rating, I would
This novelette could be a really good story with a professional editor and a proofreader. There are so many grammatical errors I thought it might have been written by someone to which English is not their first language. Also, there are several areas that need clarification.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is the second book I have ever DNF'd, and it isn't a decision I take lightly, especially with short books like these. This book desperately needs better editing. It kinda reads like a direct translation from another language-- very clunky and awkward, with several grammatical errors. I couldn't handle it long enough to give the actual story a chance, which is unfortunate.
This is a short story that puts all the bells and whistled needed to make a wonderful thriller. It all started with a missing teacher who has a secret. But it becomes much more than that as Fox and Collins dig deeper into the missing woman's life. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I had a hard time getting into the book. I always finish a book and I did this one as well but it didn’t get much better. The storyline was good but it was missing something. I just couldn’t get into the characters.
Stilted language, mixup of genders repeatedly. Awkward to read. Lots of incorrect words. Insufficient info about the characters so they became vague and easily forgotten or mixed up. Please get an editor.
Not sure how this book was even published. It was all over the place. The book felt like it started in the middle of a story and the had many errors in writing. I was 40% done before I looked up the reviews. It was a short book thank goodness and free.
This is a novelette. But it's not short enough. Poor dialogue. Lousy story. Cardboard characters. If it was edited, the editor should be canned. Hundreds of errors. Reads like a poor translation.
I couldn’t make it to the end. I got about half way and just had to put it down. I was very confused by the plot and the editing was awful. Honestly, not even sure if it went through the editing process. I so wanted this to be good since it’s part of a series, but it just did not make the cut.
