Ye Shu transmigrated into the book he had just read and became the first cannon fodder minister who was brought down by the tyrannical male lead, suffering a death by a thousand cuts, turned into dust, that kind of thing.
Ye Shu resolutely packed up and decided to abscond before this could happen. On the road, feeling that he had been drugged, he accosted someone for help.
Who would have expected that he would wake up the next day with the tyrant smiling beside him. “Did you sleep well?”
Ye Shu: “……”
To survive, Ye Shu was forced to enter the palace as a consort, and henceforth, lived a harsh life of being ordered around and squeezed by the tyrant.
When the tyrant annotated folding memorials[1], he refilled his tea and ground more ink.
When the tyrant ate, he tested his dishes for hidden drugs.
When the tyrant retired for the night, he was even responsible for warming his bed.
It wasn’t until his belly started to grow that Ye Shu noticed that the book he had transmigrated into seemed to be a bit buggy……
This f*cking world was actually ABO.
He hadn’t been drugged, previously… That was the first differentiation period as he became a Kunjun!
Tyrant: “This Qianjun’s rut period is coming, my beloved consort……”
Ye Shu slammed the bedchamber’s door in front of the tyrant. “Heh, not a chance.”

Note: [1] Folding memorial – Memorials were an official communication to the Emperor of China. A “Folding Memorial”, for instance, was to be written on pages small enough for the emperor to hold them in his hand and read without being observed.
Their chemistry is great, i love their light banter but sometimes Ye shu can be so prickly I just can't with his behavior but anyway This was very Cutesy, very demure, I just don't get how Ye shu has to sleep on a different palace at one time on this book. Jin Wang is so considerate and he's literally a husband material.
my favorite part about this book was with the baby (which were only 3 chapters including extra if i'm not mistaken). overall it was a light novel, with selfish characters (who weren't exactly unlikable) who love each other dearly, which i liked. some parts seemed like they were just thrown in there with little to no explanation or narration (like the wars, their past together, mc's life in the modern world as an adult, side characters with seemingly intriguing characteristics that were barely mentioned afterwards). the novel also seemed to be glorifying empires & wars, with the powerful main characters behaving as they wish, despite wielding a lot of power and being responsible for the people ?? they could just abandon their duties, easy. it's important to mention though, that it's not a novel that takes itself too seriously. however, i was still very entertained by it, even though it dragged around 60%
Quote: "How wondrous it is that we have passed through time and history and gone to such lengths to be together peacefully. Instead of fearing the future, we should grasp the present," Ye Shu closed his eyes as he added softly, "I have someone I like, and that is Jin Wang." "Every day I spend with him is the happiest time of my life." "I want to.... grow old with him."

This book is very sweet, and it’s pretty short too. It’s definitely nothing too complicated and all the plot beats get resolved pretty quickly- the book is 100% focused on the main couple. It’s fluffy and is a nice read if you’re in it for the tropes, a good break of sorts from reading heavier books. The MC and ML dynamics are sweet, and there is a good amount of angst surrounding the situation. There is a “twist” of sorts that gets foreshadowed quite a bit but gets revealed only at the tail end of the book. It /does/ take them a while to properly get together, but the entire book they’re sort of already “together”
Four stars because it wasn’t anything too complicated but it was fluffy, the story was not dragged out, and hit the spot at the time.
Fair warning though mpreg is a huge part of the book!
surprisingly really enjoyed this one despite not really liking slice of life novels with minimal angst. what can i say i love a good mpreg novel with prickly shou plus his insane gong being mindful only in front of him <3
Was a quick read full of misunderstandings. I enjoy that the plot twist was hinted a throughout the story and the ML and MC had such a wholesome love story
