If journaling is something your interested in this is the book for you. Helen is from the UK and she is very talented. Check out her YouTube channel as well. She is very informative.
When i try into journalling starting from this beginning of April 2021 iam eager to read anything and watch about how make bullet journalling since i love write down my everyday to-do-list and also sticking down my travelling past ticket since it is became my momentos.
This books is really help me for making doodle and idea for write down the decorative alphabet! It is really useful for me as newbie in Bullet journalling
I have enjoyed watching Helen on u-tube for quite sometime now and have always enjoyed her content. So I was really happy and excited to find that she had written a book about her process for journaling and drawing. I ordered her book right away and received it a couple of days ago and love it. To have a practical record of drawings and go to ideas is amazing and she has made it very easy to follow and I am enjoying it a lot. It will be sitting on the corner of my desk from now on to inspire me on my everyday journaling and traveller's notebooks layouts. I really love this book and I gave this book a solid 5 out of 5 stars!
A resource book of small illustrations around a category. If you’re looking for layouts or compositions, this is not it. Literally just a reference library of small illustrations. And she only does a step-by-step break down of one, sometimes two, of the illustrations per category. I wouldn’t recommend unless you are a practiced artist who can look at an illustration and copy it without the need for a step-by-step process. Utilizes a lot of zen tangle patterns and concepts, helpful for anyone who loves zen tangle and wants to incorporate them into everyday objects as part of their style or piece. Provides 3 alphabets, but again, only breaks down how to draw 3 letters of each alphabet and does not go into modern calligraphy or how to make words from the letters (even in the bounce section).
Would recommend as an element of an art book collection, but neither the starting place nor the sole instruction book.
Każdy rodzaj zawiera element do poćwiczenia, możemy też z powodzeniem je odrysować do własnego zeszytu.
It’s so crazy because there aren’t a lot of instructions but the ones she does provide, create a mindset to allow you to see the basic elements of how to do a particular type of doodle and it works!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us. I really appreciate the time and effort you went through to inform novices like me, and give us an idea of how and what we want to see in our own Buenos.
I love the step-by-step instructions for various motifs and doodles. The designs are grouped nicely into categories. Great ideas. However, there are no examples or layouts of the motifs being used in an actual journal.
A handy book for doodle ideas that could go towards a fully themed page such as food or decorate a journal page with patterns. Pages are big enough to trace if desired and the dotted page makes it clear how to scale a drawing in a dotted journal.
I have been following for years and I am so happy she came out with a book. So many cute ideas for my journal that I will absolutely be using and really shows the wide variety you have when writing creatively.
This book is chock full of inspiration for doodling in bullet journals! With guides on how to get started, tools to use it really is brilliant! As a beginner who thought she couldn't draw I've been amazed at what I've achieved so far. A great purchase!
I love the examples provided in this book. This Is my second purchase of a Helen Colebrook publication. She is very easy to follow and provides lots of inspiration.
I am a creative and functional planner. I enjoyed this book. Easy to read. Colorful. Step-by-step exercises to add drawings to planners or journals. A tone of “you can do this” encouragement and shared to make the drawing and lettering worth trying. I am a basic creative person, and I’m not afraid to follow directions and go for it to see what I get. This is a tool for people like me who are learning to draw or doodle, and willing to copy great little drawings using the exercises. I will use this as a reference to build my skills and play creatively. I think I’ll start with adding a banner to my journal’s page. The illustrations provide a candy store if life objects sketched and colored in ways I can attempt to do myself. Thank you, Helen!
This is a helpful book for fonts and cute icons for your journal. I bought the Kindle version and pull it up on my old Kindle Fire to see it larger and in color. I enjoy seeing and copying one font in particular and have also copied many of the icons throughout the rest of the book. It’s well put together, clean, and useful.
