A hidden princess, a cursed swan, and a princely frog.
Read books seven, eight, and nine—Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and The Frog Prince—in this special boxset of a bestselling series of fairy tale retellings.
Book 7: Swan Lake Cursed to be a swan by day, Odette spends her nights leading a band of smugglers and ensuring their survival by flattering the evil sorcerer who cursed them.
When the kind Prince Alexsei tracks Odette and her crew to their camp, Odette fears he is yet another complication. Instead, he slowly endears himself to her as they search together for a way to break her curse.
But when the evil sorcerer launches an attack against the royal family, Odette is pulled between her love for Alexsei and the severe consequences from pitting herself against the sorcerer who ruined her life. Can she fight at Alexsei's side and survive?
Book 8: Sleeping Beauty Briar Rose, a clever peasant girl, feels only pity for the mysterious Princess Rosalinda–the hidden princess who was cursed to prick her finger on a spindle and fall asleep until true love’s kiss awakens her.
Her pity turns to horror when Briar learns she IS the princess, and Isaia—her childhood friend—is really a knight sworn to protect her.
When the evil mage who first cursed her returns and begins to plunder the countryside, Briar is whisked off to the capital where the king orders Isaia and the knights of the realm to stand guard and protect her. The king’s choice renders the villages under attack defenseless, and enrages the one-time peasant Briar.
For Briar is not the demure princess her family expects, and she vows to move on her own to save her people. Will the curse consume her, or–with help from Isaia–can she beat the evil mage at his own game?
Book 9: The Frog Prince Crown Prince Lucien has spent his life playing a flirtatious idiot to manipulate his courts and hide the weaknesses he feels when compared to his brother. His acting backfires when he narrowly escapes an assassination and his father, the king, orders an enchantress to turn him into a frog for his own safety since the “idiot” prince can’t be expected to defend himself.
Strong-willed. Capable. Expendable. The servant Ariane is all of these things, which makes her the perfect escort for the newly transformed Lucien, even though carting the lazy frog prince around on a velvet cushion is the last thing she wants to do.
But as the assassination attacks on Prince Lucien continue, Ariane realizes the threat of darkness is much closer than she thought. And perhaps the prince is not as foolish as he acts…

My pen name is K. M. Shea, but my readers—I prefer to call them Champions—call me Kitty.
I love to write funny, clean stories with strong characters. Books like that are among my favorite to read so naturally I love writing stories like that as well. My philosophy is that life is tough, so books should be something that makes you relax and laugh!
Swan Lake - 4 stars. Odette's backstory is wonderful and Alexsei was a very sweet love interest. I really enjoyed seeing more of Rothbart and Odile as well.
Sleeping Beauty - 3.5 stars. While I liked this one, particularly learning more about the Magic Knights of Sole I did not love Isaia or the royal family as characters. It did kind of feel like Isaia was being willfully obtuse with all the noble I can't possibly be her true love inner monologue but Briar was fun as were her ladies in waiting.
The Frog Prince - 3.5 stars. My expectations were far too high for this book. I was really looking forward to Lucien's story and unfortunately it just didn't land for me. The love between the main characters felt like it came out of nowhere. It felt so underdeveloped compared to some of the other stories. However there were many fun cameos by much loved couples from previous books for the summit and many from Elle and Severin who are some of my very favorite characters in this universe.
The Heroes of the tales of these retellings all seemed to have a particularly bad inferiority complex. Isaia and Lucien especially. Alexsei's was pretty minor and for me did not negatively affect the story not so much for the other 2. I have pretty much binged all the books up to this point. I think I will work on better spacing for rereads so the stories feel more distinct. Might see if I can read them in chronological order instead of published order also.
All that said this series is so fun and easy to read. The love stories are so sweet and the characters are easy to connect with. I will definitely reread this from time to time.

K.M. Shea is brilliant in her world building and her characters are complex yet believable. I love her original takes on the various fairytales, and as the books progress we can see a link between the curses and woes falling on individual countries. Enchantress in training Angelique is perhaps my favourite of all the characters in this series for her selflessness, humility and determination to help wherever she can despite the cost to herself.
Come explore this fascinating world and the people and lands within as you enjoy retellings of favorite fairy-tales. I really enjoyed the strong female characters and the adventures they experienced as they found true love. As you read each story you see the connections between the lands and the characters. Dark evil is rising and its going to take each of them working together to fight. Good versus evil in tales as old as time. I can't wait to read more!
I've enjoyed a lot of K M Shea's books. The fairy tales have been a bit of a slog for me. I have loved some, and not others. I loved the contemporary books. These are set in the once upon a time world we read about as children. I've given 4 stars as when I read them, they're not difficult but I just found certain characters easier to follow than others. Of this trilogy the middle one, Sleeping Beauty was very good. Recommended.
Timeless Fairy Tales: Books 7-9 are just as good the second read through! I loved all the cameos of characters from previous books as all the kingdoms are working together to fight against the evils on the continent. True love conquers all again and again, and I love every minute of it.
The third boxset of Timeless Fairytales retelling. Swan Queen of Swan Lake, Angelique's first spell modification of Sleeping Beauty, and the arrogant frog prince.
I do think it would be useful to number all the books in this world to ensure that they are read in the most practical order. It is difficult as many overlap.
Timeless Fairy Tales: Books 7-9: Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Frog Prince by K.M. Shea – This was a freebie on Amazon this week, but this series is also on kindle unlimited! Kitty Shea writes gold! Enjoy! Happy Reading!
Kitty writes amazing characters. I love how morally strong her characters (the heroine especially) are. Brilliant twists on the traditional fairy tales. Sleeping beauty I thought was especially good. Disney has NOTHING on Kitty's version of Briar Rose.
While the 1st 2 stories were excellent, Frog Prince's h/H were somewhat disappointing.
I really love the twist that Ms Shea puts on much beloved Fairy Tales. I find it hard to put the book books down. Highly recommend getting all the Timeless Fairy Tales to read.
Read the series. They are fun - even though the heroines all start to feel like the same person and the love stories formulaic. Swan Lake was one of my favorites though.
Shea is one of my fav authors, and I really enjoyed reading the accompaning stories to her other series. It filled in a few spots, and gave the secondary characters that I liked more story time.
