3.5 stars. I really like this series. In this one, they're still playing Winter soccer. That means the Kicks girls are on separate teams and that creates some tension. It's time for the playoffs and the Griffons are playing the Gators (I.e. kicks vs kicks). There is some distancing between the girls and some friendships to repair. There is also conversation around Jamie. She was a bully to the Kicks during the regular season, but now she's on the Griffons with Devin and friends and we find out WHY she is the way she is. Devin tries to help her out of her defense mechanisms and I liked that a lot. Overall this was another great book!
This book is about a girl named Devin and her friend Jessi. They are on the same winter soccer league team, the griffons. On the gators team is their good friend, Zoe. It is really hard for them because they don't want to go against each other at the league championships. They have so much practice to do if they want to win. Zoe and some of her teammates at school start to strategize, and she doesn't hang out very much with her friends. Devin and Jessi start to think she doesn't hang out with them very much because it is awkward. Both teams want to win very badly. When it is time for the championship Devin is worried about playing Zoe, because they both want to win and she would feel bad for Zoe if she lost. At the end of the game the Griffions won! Even though Zoe and her team lost they thought they did pretty good, and were happy with the way they played. Devin, Jessi, and Zoe all started to talk to each other and were together again. If you like action, drama, friendship, and soccer you will love this book. I thought this book was enjoyable because I play soccer too.
