Well.... we already knew that Mary Berry bakes to Perfection and now it appears that she can cook to Perfection as well.
I really loved this cookbook with it's flavorful and appetizing selections and the presentation was on point ....not that I would expect anything less from the formidable Ms. Berry as one of the past judges on the incredibly popular "The Great British Baking Show".
I purchased the ebook version....and on my Samsung tablet.....the photography really shines....post recipes she includes many helpful hints for the beginner and seasoned cooks alike to help achieve good results with her recipes.
The photos included here...were just the right amount ....nice to look at but not excessive....in fact I really liked the layout of this book....sometimes digital cookbooks are difficult to navigate I didn't sense or feel that at all here.
There was definitely a British influence with many of the recipes...but is that really surprising?.... and I am sure that is what most people buying this book are wanting to find.....and lastly this is also a cookbook that I see myself using....I am quite the collector in that respect...as I enjoy reading cookbooks almost as much as I enjoy cooking from them.

An apt title

Mary Berry has done it again. She makes difficult recipes seem simple. She explains and demonstrates the process required for each recipe.

There are excellent color photos to clarify the step-by-step instructions so one can accomplish what could be a very messed up process.

She has chosen many recipes that will new to Americans and some that are familiar. There are some interesting combinations such as Cod and salmon, which I rarely seen put together before.
The recipes use ingredients that are accessible, and for those that might be obscure, Mary offers substitutes.

There is no index, which is disappointing. There is an alphabetical list of recipes in categories.

The recipes in this book are hearty, and the ones I've tried are very tasty. Modern Americans may not appreciate some of these classic recipes, but that's their loss. The recipes are unapologetically non-keto, non-paleo, non-weightwatcher, but are most definitely flavorful. I'm glad I got this book.

Will I ever cook a whole broiled trout? Very unlikely but you better believe I took a picture of the Broiled Trout with Endive and Almonds recipe. Some day I might get brave and try to cook it so I need a picture of it. Also took a picture of some Carnalized Red Onion and Arugula Tarlets that look like a perfect flaky appetizer.

Within you will find Mary Berry recommendations and a lot of good pictures and easy to understand instructions.

Mary Berry! Didn’t know her before the British Baking Show. Her voice in this book is especially her, and also even warmer and more encouraging than on the show. She isn’t just sharing recipes here but techniques and details that help further intuition and how food cooked with love for people you love is usually magical.

Clear and well-photographed instructions. Nice Appendices. The tips in between chapters are totally gratuitous and obvious but charming. Coverage is meals to dessert. A smiling Mary Berry to warm your heart and recipes for all ranges of cooking experience.

I have enjoyed watching Mary Berry on the Great British Bake-Off. This was a kindle bargain and I see why. Recipes not appealing.

This book is about Mary's other popular dishes from British cuisine and some dessert recipes. But I was so glad to see her fruit cake recipe is included in this book !
