Seemingly honest account of the author's struggles with poor self-image and depression for which he compensated by being aloof and arrogant but without too much detail of how he built his career as a world class bodybuilder. He does not gloss over his steroid and diuretic use and its effects nor does he whitewash his poor behavior. Rather, he emphasises the how he survived because of the love of his grandmother and, later, his wife and humbly pays tribute to them.
