This novella surprised me. It was actually pretty cute and well thought out. However, I didn't like the melodramatic conflict that made our characters separate.

Love, the Viscount, & Me de Aven Ellis Serie Modern Aristocrats libro 1
Argumento:
Regla n.
I know this is a spin off but I really enjoyed the other characters from the first series showing up a small bit in this one. This one is the first book in the modern aristocrats series. It's not a long book, maybe just short of 150 pages. I enjoyed the characters and setting. Both main characters have interesting back stories and both have problems in the romance department. Once started though these characters fall for each other extra fast. Maybe a bit too fast for the situations they are in? Especially the heroine as she is the nanny to the hero's sister's children and he's the Viscount with all kinds of problems to deal with running three big estates. I guess I just needed a bit more. More romance. More life in England for an American woman new to the country. Maybe even meeting the hero's troubled sister. Anyway, I was mostly happy with the read. Now I'm wondering if Charlie will get his book. Hope so!
This book was so small I finished it in an hour its the story of Maccanna, a nanny who moved to England to take care of four children of wealthy aristocrats .she also wants to find her roots in England as her late mom was English. She meets Count Philip her employer's brother and they become fast friends in a week.
Philip has so many duties on his plate but couldn't help falling for Maccanna, he helps her find herself in England, meet with her maternal family and clear many years of guilt off her shoulders. When a crisis came towards them Philip decides that he is not worth the trouble and breaks off with Maccanna, she was opening up to him after years of trust issues holding her back and it all makes her lash out at him.
After some recollections on both sides, they realise they never meant the things they said to one another and that they are better off together. the book has a HEA but it doesn't have any fireworks it was just too tasteless. This book seems to be the first book in a series honestly I am not so curious about the next one there is nothing exciting about the book
I so did this series backward, but this one is just as cute as the "first" book. It's much shorter, but it didn't leave me wanting or feeling that everything went too fast.
"Oh. My. God. I have not been hired to be a nanny. I’m the head of Chaos Control."
"She’s either still smarting from my rebuke, or she’s planning to turn one of those cows into cheeseburgers when we aren’t looking."
I laughed so much because of Mckenna's charges! The things they all pulled and the situations McKenna got into are something that would totally happen to me! Lots of humor in this book.
“I don’t want you to apologize for any of this. So many things in my life are planned and manipulated, and this was a choice, to be with you. Don’t take one of my few choices away from me.”
Phillip is such a sweetheart with a heart of gold that got handed a crappy situation. I was so angry with him because he was trying to control McKennas' choices instead of opening up to her. I'm glad he realized his mistake. He had to learn to open up to his family and to McKenna. They really belong together.
McKenna is a nanny returning to London, the place of her birth, to figure out her roots. Her mom died when she was a baby and she was raised by her father in California. She feels she has returned home. But the four kids she nannies are super rambunctious. When she crash lands in a field with mini-cows, in a pile of poop, and then is rescued by the kids’ uncle, an actual modern-day viscount, things get even crazier. It’s a fun journey to see McKenna discover her roots while learning more about her heart as their paths collide spectacularly. Fun book.

Although given an ARC for this novella, I did buy a copy of it as well. :-)
Aven Ellis is a master storyteller who gives her heroines and heroes real-life situations, including not-so-meet-cutes. "Love, the Viscount, & Me" is no different.
We are introduced to McKenna, a young, recent college graduate from the United States who yearns to know her British maternal side of the family's heritage. To do this, McKenna is hired as a nanny for a prominent British family who live in the UK. While you would think hilarity ensues for a novice nanny of four children under the age of six, McKenna is no pushover. Armed with practicality and an early childhood education degree, McKenna has sound solutions for the calamities that come with young children -- right up until she meets Phillip, the children's uncle and the viscount in the book's title, in a cow pasture.
The novella touches upon what it's like to be titled in modern England and the weight and responsibility that comes with it, and it's not a light load for Phillip. Phillip is a modern gentleman having to keep up with the immense history of his family's title, property and prestige, which all come with a cost.
As with all of Ellis' other writings, this novella is so thoroughly researched that the reader can visualize the characters and various settings throughout and feel as if they are a part of the story.
Intended to be the introductory tale to a spin-off of Ellis' existing "Modern Royals" series, "Love, the Viscount, & Me" is a fitting continuation and worth the read.
Aven Ellis creates magic through the short-story of Phillip and McKenna in "Love, the Viscount and Me." I want more! How can this be such a short story?! Haha! This is only the first of the Modern Aristocrats we will encounter and the story does not disappoint. McKenna is seeking to find the lost half of her family and what she is looking for may have been in front of her the entire time. After reading their story, you will want a mini-cow. While I didn't ugly-cry, I wouldn't mind a trip to St. Paul's in London. I highly recommend this book!
I absolutely loved Phillip and McKenna. With any Aven Ellis book you have plenty of heart and so much humor. Her heroines are so real and they often times embarrass themselves in front of the hero. So many giggles in this book! This was such a beautiful story, both Phillip and McKenna are trying to find themselves with finding themselves they find love. I absolutely loved everything about this story I wish it could have been longer because I need more! I received an ARC of this for my opinion
This is a heartwarming, fun, swoony, hilarious, quirky, sweet romantic story of two strangers falling for each other at first sight. Philip and McKenna's first meeting (meet cute) happened in a hilarious and entertaining way. The spark between the characters will keep you reading to find out what will happen next. Of course in all love stories the couple encounters a bumpy road. This is a must read book!
This book was amazing. I laughed, cried and cheered on both the nanny and the Viscount. I discovered Aven Ellis with a recommendation from Kindle unlimited and I'm so glad I took a chance! Her English royalty books we fun and entertaining (binge read all 4 in 2 days!), but this one was the best. Her characters are believable and the scenery descriptions are amazing. A modern take on a fairy tale. Don't walk, RUN and read this story. You won't regret it.
Another great story by Aven Ellis! All her trademark heart, humor and love are packed into this short story with McKenna and Phillip. I love the strong heroines she writes, wanting to find themselves and the swoony hero’s that win them over. Aven writes such beautiful worlds and characters and makes you fall in love while reading these books 💕
This novella has me chomping at the bit for the new series featuring more of the sexy titled Brits. Although this is short, it has all the feels and more laughs than I could count. MaKenna is a delight and it’s nice to see Philip have something to smile about. Take a trip to London, see the sights and fall in love. All in this one little book.
This story started out well, although it really got old the number of times the characters said "God" and not in a religious sense. I continued to read and just ignore that. Then the female main character starts thinking of her previous sexual experiences and I stopped reading after that. The story was well written and didn't need to go there.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. (Audible Membership)
A first day on the job as a Governess to four young people results in the disaster of cow pats and bumped heads. This ends with the rescue of a Viscount stepping in to save the day. So the story begins, but the couple that one look had galvanised together is far from over.
I spent some of this book thinking it was cute. And then I wondered if it was Reylo fanfiction but with a blond Kylo. And then I felt like Phoebe from friends shouting ‘dammit woman, pull yourself together!’
Girls. You don’t need a man to fix you. Your man shouldn’t be your sun. You are a complete person without a partner.
Everything happened so quickly. They [spoiler] didn't even date until 80% of the way through the novel... It was a fun, easy read, but I kept waiting for more, and then the book ended as soon as they started dating. It just felt.......fast.

Somewhat entertaining, but generally disappointing. I really enjoyed some of Aven Ellis’s earlier books, especially the ones set in Chicago. Her more recent books - including this one - have been less enjoyable for me. The plots are weak &/or formulaic, and the characters are not well developed.
I don’t read romance novels for the realism but McKenna and Philip have zero chemistry - it’s super forced in my opinion. And they’re just so boring. I have read the other books in this world and enjoyed them. Do yourself a favor and skip this.
You know when you know it’s love. This was funny, fun, and such a sweet romance. I enjoyed it very much. Aven Ellis writes a dream come true in finding family, and the hole missing in one’s self.
Cute idea. Didn’t realize it was a novella, so the story felt rushed. I loved the plot but again there wasn’t much time for character development so the whole main relationship is very rushed and unrealistic.
From the start you root for the couple and enjoy their journey through the rest of the rest of the book! Was a great read through the holidays when I was so busy. I could set it down and come back, but also has moments you don't want to put it down!
