Secret Societies, Serial Killers, and a Seriously Snarky PI.
When Ginger Mitchell finds out her mother committed suicide, she packs up her life as a Vegas "dancer" (hey, somebody's gotta do it) and drives her cherry-red SUV straight home to Portland. Without a disapproving mom to rebel against, what was the point?
When she arrives back in her hometown, she finds a lot more going on than fancy food trucks and put-a-bird-on-it hipsters.
Murders are being passed off as suicides.
College-aged women keep going missing.
And then there's the troubling spate of mobsters who keep inviting her out to eat.
With a pile of cash saved from her last job and no one around to tell her not to, Ginger decides to become a private investigator, to find out exactly what's gone wrong in the City of Roses. First Her mother's "suicide."

"This heart-racing mystery is just dripping with snark. Ginger Mitchell is one of the best private investigators to hang up a shingle in years."
"Ginger is a little bit Veronica Mars with daddy issues, fewer moral hang-ups, and a mom who is a not-so friendly ghost."
"A slice of yummy cake. Quickly devoured and highly enjoyed."
I pretty much read this is one sitting (as much as you can with 3 books and 2300 pages). I'm a fan of Eric Ugland's litRPG series and this contains the same humor that I've come to love. I would love to read more.
All progress on all projects, work and life in general stopped for two days while I read these books. The characters are fresh and engaging. Its clever, fast moving and thankfully no ooey gooey romance. Ginger and Rhino are way too busy fighting an unparalleled cast of bad guys. Ginger doesn’t have a whiney-I’m helpless-I’m just a girl bone in her body. She’s smart, resourceful, brave and generally my hero. Loved these books. Please hurry with book 4.
I've read all his published works and I'm a fan. He builds believable characters. His dialogue makes sense. And he can build a scene without 14 pages of description. I respect that. His books often have a cast of characters, but they're distinct. I never find myself needing to scan back to identify a character. Thank you Eric. Keep em coming😊
Fun, enjoyable heros, and snarky, over the top villains. There is nothing deep, dark and dangerous, nothing that will challenge you to solve it, just a straightforward, fun read, with enough danger and weirdness to keep you entertained.
I had no idea what I was getting into. Glad I did.
I was going through an author I likes other books. I usually do fantasy. This is not. I listen to books while I work. I give new books an hour or two to get my interest. I laughed a lot and was never board. I had to take a break after a week but that's 8 hours a day for a week. I highly recommend this. It's a lot of fun.
Cool twisted and convoluted- loved all the ancillary mysteries and cases - the long run was not the highest quality of the short ones - enjoyed the core characters - a little sad about the slut shaming when it started so sex worker positive
Ginger and Rhino solve crimes. They unfold and you are watching it happen and smiling and enjoying every moment of the story. I did not want the volumes to end.......
Yeah I loved this book/series, really funny, good plot and great characters. There were some minor problems but they don’t take way from my enjoyment of this book/series.
Not Micky Spillane but closer than many others I’ve read. Modernized with a tough female lead that keeps living in interesting times. Adventures of many kinds taking place in Portland before the mess they have now.
