Elizabeth has spent her life exploring the world, visiting strangers, and learning all the customs she could. When the first Volunteer Project began, she had been in her fifties and out of the running. Now, at eighty-two, they offer to tune her up and send her to the stars. What world traveller could resist? She becomes taller, stronger, but her sense of humour remains the same. Her assignment is to collect memories from alien ancients who have been gathered on one world as a disconnected think tank. She needs to get them together, one at a time. She begins her journey there as a novice monk and works her way up to master. She deals with the indifferent man who greeted her and prepares to be charming with the other ancients until one goes too far, and she shows him what she is made of. Her mind is not his playground, and she has a strong right hook.
Loved Libby's Story Elizabeth, Libby, Montcross, at 82 has lived a well lived life. Her supportive father helped her escape an bad marriage when she was young and helped her become a strong adventurous women. She has traveled extensively, and enjoyed learning of other cultures. 30 years ago she applied to the Terren project and was rejected because of her age. Now they have come to her with an offer of a life time. Libby agrees to a reset and to be sent to a world of ancients of 26 races, over seen by the Avatar Mathla-Luon. They are collecting the ancients memories, to archive and share their histories. The monks are not thrilled with her coming and sabotage her arrival. She is rescued by Yelfon, ancient of the Dremarai, the Djinn. Yelfon has not been in contact with his host in some time, so when Mathla-Luon reaches out to him to pick up a novice monk he complies and is intrigued by the women he finds. Libby proves apt at her new job and quickly obtains Master status. A negative encounter with one of the ancients sends Yelfon to the rescue and has him staking his claim. Through Libby he learns the fate of his people. Fast paced and steamy. Great addition to the Terran Times world. Sweet epilogue. A visit to Yelfon's home world and a visit with the current leader D'hai and is Terran mate Myak. See Terran Times Enchanted for their story. hope the other Ancients get their story told.
This short romance was quite enjoyable. The world building was great, with the ancients and the customs of the monks coming to life. The hero was deliciously alpha and sweet at the same time, and the heroine was in your face and tolerated no nonsense. My favorite type of heroine. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and hot, with a heat level of three chili peppers. Reading this story was a great way to wind down before falling asleep after a busy day.
I found Viola Grace way back when the Sector Guards and the Citadel were first being published. I have enjoyed most of the stories, a couple I disliked so much that I deleted them. However, this story just made me happy. I enjoyed Libby's character and her entire back story so much. Please keep writing for your fans. Escapism soothes the soul.
This tale was about an octogenarian who is given a new lease on life and gains everything for it. The prison planet she is sent to turns out to be not such a prison after all. She finds love and happiness in one who thought there was none. I can’t wait for the next book in this delightful series.
Elizabeth was a fun character and her mate was hot. The world building was great and the storyline intriguing. Love connecting with previous characters from other Terran series. The artwork was enchanting. 10 stars --please keep them coming.
I absolutely loved this one! The heroine had such a great sense of humor, I couldn’t stop laughing. This was a great addition to the universe. It was fun learning about the ancients.
Elizabeth and Yelfon’s story was very well thought out and the world building just keeps getting better. Highly intriguing and heartfelt. I highly recommend this book and this series.
I was rereading the O's and the one where the lady went to work for the Zai family. She had to hide from a purple. I would nominate this one for a Reset story. Pretty please?
3.5 ⭐️ she's finally adding more world buildings and on screen plot to the smut. Interesting but it keeps referring to precedent stories 🤔 that I don't think exist as stand alone?
I love these old broads, but her mission and the small bit of relationship just didn't grab me. Also not fond of the implication that a serial rapist is going to get their HEA with their own Terran in the future.
My favourite story to date. Libby has humour, wit, and empathy. Her history tells her emotional growth, and the idea of trying to get grumpy ancient being to open up makes me giggle. Loved it!
