Dragon shifter Ash’s future had always been clearly laid out for him. When the time came, he was to find his dragon mate and rule as king. Instead, his parents were murdered and the kingdom destroyed. Now he is looking for revenge!

Finley Sawyer and her sister, Olivia, are going for a night out at Club Opal. Her sister puts a large cuff she had bought in Brazil for her in her hand, and as Finley contemplates making something out of it, the cuff snaps on her wrist! The silver turned liquid and changed into a bracelet! She tried to remove it, but it wouldn’t come off. When Olivia tried to remove it, it shocked her. But Finley felt it had “chosen” her, and she liked it, which was good since they couldn’t get it off of her!

Brothers Ash and Henrik Wystan came over to examine her bracelet. Ash saw it wasn’t his cuff exactly, but both of them noticed the bracelet’s stones were actually Ash’s heartstone which would mean she was his mate – but she is human and that would invalidate his right to ascend the throne as king! With conflicting interests of needing to claim his mate or risk “the craze” if he didn’t, potentially invalidating his kingship, needing to carry out his revenge, and keeping his family safe, what will he decide to do?

This was a really good story line and keeps the reader’s interest. Finley was a strong woman who seemed to guess the truth when she asked Ash about the bracelet while they were in the limo. But he steadfastly refused to tell her about the heartstone or the fact that he was a dragon, as she had mentioned when trying to convince him she believed more existed than the mundane. And I loved Henrik’s comments and amusement seeing Ash struggling to hold back his fate. Grab your copy and follow their story to see if there is a HEA for Ash and Finley. Change needs to happen for that, but the reasons to give it a try are all out there.

Wow, that's a unique story!
Finley (human FMC) gets kidnapped when she is younger by a vampire & she's been looking for answers ever since. ASH (MMC dragon shifter KING) parents were killed & he's looking for answers. Are they connected??? Female dragons are few to many males, so it's unlikely he will find his mate... Until he meets Finley at a club with vampires.. AND WHATS THAT SHE HAS??? his hearthstone hehe.
In the story, humans and shifters are forbidden to be together. Do they find a way? Oooo the sexual tension!!! Made me mad ass hell he waited so long to mate....I knew Gavin & Pru knew more than they let on by how pushy he was.
Wait till you read why the Obsidian Clan went instinct. IT'S SO JUICYYY

Dragons

What can I say, great book, fantastic story line, with a great twist in the love story, wasn't expecting that to be honest, I loved all the characters even the baddie, a total psycho, don't want to say to much as it will give it away, definitely worth reading, alot of hot sex, maybe read with a glass of ice on standby.

Tried too hard

This is the first book I've read by this author, and will probably be the last. It just tried too hard. First, there was too much growly "She's not my mate. I don't need a mate. Stay away from my mate! But she's not my mate because I don't need a mate..." Then the whole tribal/kingdom thing just got too unnecessarily complicated and overly dramatic.

Finley is given a jeweled cuff which changes shape when she puts it on then she encounters Ash.
Finley Sawyer is being dressed up by her sister Olivia who is a super model then gives her a jeweled cuff that she had bought in a market on a recent trip to Brazil. Finley puts it on commenting on it looking rather masculine when it suddenly changes shape into a feminine bracelet which she is unable to remove so she suggests trying later when they return. They head to Club Opal where they dance and Olivia insists on introducing men to Finley then two good looking men come over and comment on her bracelet.Dragon shifters Ash and Henrik Wystan notice the gems in the bracelet and recognize the stone as being Ash's heart stone which indicates his mate but they are shocked to find a human wearing it.

Ash is a dragon and Finley is a curvy girl. The two meet in a club when Finley appears wearing a bracelet that seems to have life of it's own. But it turns out it's a dragon's heart stone. This curvy girl is in for the ride of her life.
This is the first book by McKenzie Rogue that I've read and I loved it. I've had a weakness for dragon for as long as I can remember and having discovered that there are dragon shifters in a paranormal world that spills over into ours (at least on the pages of a book - or in my case the screen of an E-reader) I'm real excited at the prospect of being able to spend more time with my favorite fantasy creature.
I recommend this book.

An awesome start to this new series. This is the first book of this Royal Dragon Shifters series. The plot is full of suspense, drama, action, sizzling chemistry, characters that are perfect for one another. Ash is the next king and his destiny to find his queen and rule. That all changes when his parents are murdered and his kingdom is destroyed. He needs to get revenge on the ones who did this. Fate has other plans for Ash. He finds is mate but just one this she is human and it goes against everything. You will enjoy their journey to getting their happily ever after. I enjoyed this book, looking forward to see what comes next.

Loved the series

I loved reading this book and it's done well to lay the foundations of where the story overall is gonna go throughout the series. I'm sure with each new pairing we will follow the story to it's epic close.

I love the FMC in this she's fiesty and sassy and she will do what she can to expose the truth that she knows it out there. Doing this brings her across her fated mate but he doesn't want her to begin with.
There are twists and turns and I love how it's emerging. I'm also glad that they are banding together and I can't wait to see how the rest of the story goes.

Some like it HAWT...and enthralling...and mysterious...!

This world is fascinating! Finley has endured so much in her young life, including having her sanity questioned and lacking support from her family, but she is one powerful, kick@$$ female. Being found by her reluctant, half-in half-out mate doesn't make matters any easier; however, once he gets his head out of his...Ash (see what I did there?!), the romance is finally everything the reader could want. The encounters with the opposition range from villainous and creepy to old-guard stubbornness to potential betrayal, and they are quite enthralling. I look forward to the next challenges in Book Two!

first off curvy girls deserve love too so huzzah for someone writing one! but in all seriousness this was a good read. I adored our curvy girl (Finley) with an open mind and a brain. She wasn't a brainless bimbo or simply a yes girl. Our dragon king to be (Ash) is in a total rock and hard place moment. Fated mate or kingship? love or revenge? I mean not the place you want to be. No wonder he was so grumpy! A really good start to the series and I am interested to read the next so job well done.

This is an exceptionally well-written, short book 1 in A Curvy Mate for the Holidays Book Series that has very strong main Characters and a great story. These characters are exciting, have chemistry, and are well-crafted. I cannot wait to read more in this series. There is drama, tension, danger, and romance. This story has action, adventure, twists/turns, chemistry and love with a HEA that must be worked for. These characters have wonderful personalities that are brought alive by this Author. A must read

I love curvy girl and paranormal stories these shifters really appreciate a beautiful curvy woman, I loved Finley’s and Ash’s story it’s full of action, adventure, suspense, danger, drama, passion and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages. Ash has found his mate but she’s human and it’s against dragon law but all Ash wants to do is to get revenge for his parents murder but the craze is coming so what will Ash do claim his mate or get revenge?. Fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Paranormal mf adventure

This book is well edited and the writing style flows well. The authors have created a pnr world filled with dragon shifters, vampires, far and others all hidden from the larger human community. There is an evil threat that spurs the storyline. I believe this will be an ongoing series each book featuring different couples as the adventure continues. I've had bad luck lately trying to read other books in this genre. Others have just been juvenile. This one was just right. I will continue.

A little slow at the start but ultimately loved it! Perfectly built characters. A nice firm plot to roll into book two. But in all a guaranteed HEA between the main to characters! If hulking grumpy stubborn ass dragons and no nonsense strong upholding women with a cluster of mishaps and misfortunes is your style this is really your book.

I could not put this book down!!! An amazing shifter story full of steamy hot romance, battles, and fate! Finley is a girl who is fiercely loyal, independent, and has a huge heart! Ash puts his family and duty first. Fate has thrown them together! There are so many twists and turns, you will be on an emotional rollercoaster. I can not wait for book two and the other books in this series! A must read!!

So Annoyingly Bad.

Why is it so hard to find a decent PNR, with a curvy FMC? This book had such promise, and it was such a letdown. The writing wasn’t the best, the dialogue was stilted and awkward, but the idea was gold. I’m just so frustrated because this could’ve been an amazing story, but it was just a waste of my time. This was my first boo by this author(s), and it’s going to be my last.

Nice Dragon Shifter book

Decided to read this as a ‘snack’ as I was in a bit of a slump. And I’ve really enjoyed this book. The storyline is good, entertaining and easy to follow. The romance is doing its thing and I’ve found myself thinking about the book even when I’m not reading it and looking forward to getting back to it after a long day at work.
It could’ve been spicer for me but over all it was a good book and I’ll definitely read the rest of the series.

This book was good enough to entice me to read the next one.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and the characters. I felt like the author skipped around very quickly, making the story feel a bit disjointed, at times. Also, some of the characters were in and out so quickly, not fleshed out nor given a status. I don't know if they will be back in another book. The writing was good enough to entice me to read the next book. I'm sure I am going to enjoy this series.

A really good book

A really good read , very descriptive . I love how Finley excepted the dragons with out much of a fight and being all inquisitive. Why I've gave 4 stars is that ash is hot and cold, back and forth, yes or no about wanting to mate finley. It was giving me whiplash how much he changed his mind on wanting her or not.

However get over that and your in for a good read that's just my personal gripe about the book.

I love this book. It has suspense, romance and some drama. I've read this author's contemporary books which were awesome and their paranormal romance are on par with them. Love the characters Ash and Finley. And I can't wait for the next book.

Okay

I waffles between 3 and 4 stars. I like this telling of dragons, and the plot with Gray seems pretty I tense,but there were some parts of it that just didn't gel with me. One example, Finley needed to wear the heartstone to protect her from the Dragon fire. But she takers it off and she is fine.

Ask for a shifter book this is a good series to start with

I got 2 caught up in this story I couldn't put it down. The characters are interesting and you want to find out more about them. The author takes you through this story Guiding light longings to be. I enjoyed this book and will probably continue with the rest of the series

Sometimes it feels like google translated. Weird words, unfinished sentences. A lot of scenes did't make sense. It was short, but still waste of time. No actual explanation how this dragon shifter thing works. That was my first and last from this author and she did not make me read any other dragon shifter book... like ever.

This is a standalone BUT part of a series - you'll get hooked and want to know who's next & when will they catch 'the bad guy!'

I tend to stay the F away from dragon books. The FCs tend to be human, virgin, and used as breeding mares in 98% of them. And TikTok authors looove them some dragons shifters. They think it’s the biggest bad of the baddies shifters.

This book was no different and honestly have no clue how it ended up in my audio books.
