My enemies have dug their claws into me far deeper than I ever realized. All I wanted was to help the people who've supported me so much... and instead I've become their greatest threat.
With every expert the barons can draw on struggling to pick apart the strange magic lodged inside me, while one of my new lovers is forced to keep his distance, I can't help wondering if my parents have won after all. I'll be lucky to even survive the next few weeks.
But that means I don't have much to lose. Cressida Warbury was once one of the ruling mean girls of Blood U. I gave up my bullying ways, but maybe it's time to bring the bitch back—and turn her lose on the villains who thought they could destroy me.
*Rebel Destiny is the third and final book in a new urban fantasy trilogy set in the Villain Academy world. Enter here for magical conspiracies, an outcast heroine, and a fraught romance where she'll get to keep both her suitors.*
Eva Chase is an Amazon bestselling author of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. She grew up on a steady diet of magic, mayhem, and romantic angst, and brings plenty of all three to her stories. But no need to fear the dreaded love triangle—her heroines never have to choose.
Eva's best-known series are Flirting with Monsters, Royals of Villain Academy, and Bound to the Fae. She lives in Ontario, Canada with her family and one velcro-like cat. Visit her online at https://www.evachase.com
I can't believe it's the end of Cressida's story already! Everything comes to a head and gets wrapped up quite nicely with a HEA. The cameos are limited in this one, but (no spoilers) it wouldn't make sense otherwise.
I love most Eva Chase books I read so far. All of the Eva Chase books I read were amazingly well written and sometimes it was simply a matter of taste keeping me from loving a book. However, my favorite series is probably the series taking place at Bloodstone Academy. Everything about this story is amazing. The magic is amazing, and most of all very original, the politics is delicious and I love how there is so much room for character growth.
This third book completes Cressida's storyline. In the first series we got to know her as a bully, as a mean girl giving Rory a hard time. However, eventually she took Rory's side when it really mattered and this series gave her the chance to truly prove herself as an ally. And what a beautiful woman Cressida has become! She has learned so much, about loving others, but maybe more about loving herself and breaking free from her parents.
In this book she has to deal with a serious threat and she discovers things about her parents changing her entire world. I love how once more the characters have to be intelligent, have to plan and strategize to deal with the threat and to get their happily ever after (for now). I enjoy all the plotting and scheming and planning. I enjoy it even more when both sides, villains and heroes, are playing the game at an insanely high level.
Since this is truly Cressida's story and since the relationship between her and her guys has been firmly established in the second book, the boys take a little bit of a backseat in this story. They're of course there to support Cressida, to be there for her and to lend her all the help she does and doesn't ask for, but they've clearly become supporting characters. I would have loved more of a storyline for them too, but it also felt very right to make this book all about our girl.
I'm sure we'll see all of those characters again in future spin-offs in this series!
Cressida Warbury had been trying to help her friends and allies but instead, her enemies have done something to her which is far deeper than she could have ever imagined as they have actually turned her into a weapon that is a threat to them all. Every expert that the Baron's can access trying to pick apart the strange magic that is lodged inside her she finds herself almost a prisoner for everyone's safety as one of her two lovers is forced to keep a distance from her. Surely this is a win for her parents and she is currently lucky if she survives the next few weeks. With not much to lose, she decides to resurrect what she was in the past - a bully who was one of the bitchy mean girls at Blood U. Time for her to let that Cressida on the villains who think they can destroy her.
This was a very fitting final part of the trilogy where there was plenty of struggle between the two factions in the magical world and poor Cressida was right in the middle of the action. The placing of the hidden spell was inspired and I loved the way that after a time of being a "prisoner" in safety Cressida decided to take no more and reverted back to her old self (even though it was obvious that she wasn't comfortable being that way and really struggled against herself and her personality to resurrect it). Both of her men were very supportive of her in their own way and it was lovely to see their love and devotion to her. It must be a Blood U or magical thing that meant that one woman and multiple men were ok and quite natural. Well written, easy to read and feel the thoughts and emotions of the characters. Contains some explicit sexual content.
I have loved these books and this ending just wraps everything up nicely. The story has been exciting and entertaining and the characters are just fantastic especially Cressida and her relationship has just grown better and better with Noah and Emeric. It’s been one hell of a ride filled with fun and trouble and I definitely wouldn’t want to get on Cressida’s bad side! All in all questions have been answered and I would so recommend this series.
Well, after a much-anticipated wait, we’re finally back to see how Cressida’s story ends! Given where the second book ended, I was understandably very eager to get my hands on this conclusion. An in some respects, it delivered. The writing was just as you’d expect from Eva Chase. It was so easy to slip into – I tore through this book in a couple of hours. And as to the actual ending, I was satisfied with where the characters ended up.
That being said, however, I was a little disappointed with how we got there. Something I’ve commended Eva Chase on in the past is the underlying tension she embeds in her books, so that even where there’s filler content there’s still a sense of urgency that keeps the reader engaged. But it kind of felt like that was missing in Rebel Destiny. While I was able to read it in one sitting, throughout reading it, I knew that at any point I would have been able to put this book down, which is disappointing in a series conclusion. I also felt like everything was over too quickly. It honestly almost felt too easy. After all the build up of the previous two books, the final conflict felt a little anticlimactic to me. I was still able to enjoy it, but I wish there was more of it for me to enjoy.
As a whole, Cressida’s series was an enjoyable, and fast read. It was wonderful to get to dive back into the world of the fearmancers and see the aftermath of what happened in Rory’s series. If you enjoyed the first two books in Cressida’s story, then you’ll be satisfied with where everyone ends up at the end (even though you may, like me, find that they get there far, far too quickly).
Cressida just can't catch a break. She, Noah, and Emeric have finally made it back to Bloodstone University after their trek through the wilds of Maine. They have just started to explore their new relationship as a triad. Then they discover that Cressida has had a spell placed on her by the reapers that was meant to put her in the vicinity of the new pentacle of barons and then turn her into a suicide bomber. Fortunately, Emeric and Noah figured out that she was being compelled to go to the barons and stopped her. Unfortunately, no one has any idea how to untangle the spell which apparently resides in one of her molars. It is projected that any attempts to mess with the tooth or the spell will result in it detonating.
Cressida is willing to let the experts figure out how to fix the problem up until an event occurs that puts the entire school in danger. Now she is mad. The reapers, her parents included, better look out now. Cressida Warbury is taking her life back.
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
Well done I jumped right on this book, and could not wait to see what happened with Cressida and her two guys in this third and final book. I was grabbed right from the beginning and was pulled into the ongoing story and was really happy with the conclusion.
Cressida is cursed with unknown perils and is dealing with abandonment issues thanks to her family who had treated her as less than dirt. She got to the point that she decided to stiffen her spine and walk on her own two feet. She was not going to let her family hurt anyone who surrounded themselves around her. She really has made a wonderful transformation and become her own powerhouse. I also love seeing Victory in the story and what a great transformation she has made too. There is a good pace and flow to the story and this makes a great addition to the story from the awesome series, Royals of Villain Academy. I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed.
Of all the books in the series, book number two is my favourite. This final book does not contain much excitement, such as book two's nerve-wracking adventure and actions. This book is also short!
Overall review of the Villains' world: It's full of challenges for the younger generations, and one thing consistent is that the parents are horrible towards their children. So, if you would love to read how awful the parents are treating the children and how the children retaliate, please read this fantastic series.
In the meantime, I would like to express my disappointment that this trilogy is not about the Joymancers. It seems to be a waste of a good plot. Since we've already been introduced to another side of the community, perhaps, in future, Eva will write one for them and include the team back for one last happily ever after conclusion for the two factions.
Book 3 in the series . This book picks up where book 2 left off . Love how Eva Chase keeps on writing stron gripping stories, her characters are strong, her books are very well written and very detailed. Cressenda is the heroine. This story also has Noah as a love interest of Cressenda. You meet both of them at the original series by Eva Chase. Cressenda is still with the left over Villains. Little does Cressenda know that when they let her go they strap a grenadine on her . Grab it and see do the new barons catch on , do they save Cressenda and the rest of the new blood .
The performance of Jaime Lamchick, Curry Whitmire, Jonathan Ash was outstanding. They did all the characters great
A very fitting ending for our very adventurous trio. Rebel Destiny drops you right where the last book left off and if you weren’t paying attention you may feel a little scatterbrained. Our daring heroine was captured and turned into a suicide bomber without her knowledge. Lucky for the good guys, they figured it out in time to stop anyone else from getting hurt. Now all they have to do is 1) stop the curse, 2) figure out how they did it, 3) save the new barons, and 4) not get killed. I won’t spoil it for you but suffice it to say, it is well worth the wait!
Lines were drawn, and her parents have decided she is on the wrong side of it. Is it possible for Cressida to be able to keep helping her friends? Or have her enemies made it so she will be sidelined? What about Noah and Emeric? Can they keep close to her? I loved Cressida's spirit and willingness to keep going against the odds, and how could I not love their drive to get the answers they need? A great addition to Cressida's and her men's story. I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, and giving my thoughts and opinions on it.
I loooooved the finale to Cressida's story! 😍 There was so much anxiety and anticipation built up, that you could actually feel her fear and nervousness throughout the book. It was one hell of a ride, and I was glued from start to finish. Only downside was that awesome build up only arrived at a rather anti climactic resolution. I still thoroughly enjoyed it and it was very fitting, it's just all that tension felt like it was heading somewhere bigger. I adored the ending, it was a perfect finish to our 'traitor trio'.😉😍
A great conclusion to the series! The suspense and action go all the way up to the end, and then the characters are given a worthy epilogue. As always, it was a fabulously written and original read. I'm sad to say goodbye to this world, but definitely enjoyed the ride!
As for the narration, I'll give it 4/5. It was a pleasant listen and I enjoyed the two male narrators to give voice to both of the male POVs!
Rebel Destiny ( Traitor of Villains Book 3) ~~ The claws sink in hard — enemies more dangerous, alliances shakier, and sacrifices heavier. What really hit me was how much the heroine struggles with the weight of leadership and loyalty. This installment felt raw and final in a way that shows the cost of survival. A solid close that left me both gutted and impressed.
What an exciting ending to this intriguing series. Lots of anger, frustration & edge of your seat action, will keep you turning the pages as quickly as you can. I loved the final chapters. This has been a great series. I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Cressida, Noah, and Emeric are back and so is the fun that seems to be their lives for now. They thought they escaped Maine but brought back trouble. It was a fun and entertaining read as our three do what they do best. I was hooked from the beginning and had to see what they would face and have to overcome this time. Cressida is the best and so much fun.
The story has been exciting and entertaining and the characters are just fantastic, with Cressida and her relationship has just grown better and better with Noah and Emeric. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book 📚, as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Yes.... this is the perfect ending to this series. I love the growth of our favorite mean girl. She has grown up so much with the help of her guys and I am so happy. I really enjoyed reading her story and I love how this book wrapped things up I read/listened to this and the narrators do an amazing job
As endings go I was hoping for more. I wasn’t as attached to it as previous books. The growth of the main character is what makes it’s a 4 ⭐️ for me! Watching her from the main series to this one continually develop is what makes it for me. Careful the author slipped in some good life lessons with all the magic if you were paying attention!
I loved seeing Cressida's journey from Mean Girl to leading lady. I also have loved Noah since he first appeared on the page and still living in Paris. This series was everything it should be and more. I can't wait to see more out of this world.
I absolutely loved this series. It was great to see some of the side characters get their happy ending and I can't wait to see what more cam come from this world.
This was a slow burn but it was the final of the three books. It took Crissanda to realise she was willing to do anything to keep the people she cared about safe. She also learnt that she was truly loved by the 2 men in her life.
What a great ending to a series. This book starts right where the last left and will keep you just as gripped. I have loved following this trio journey and wish there was more.
Great ending to the series. I love how everything wraps up and how everyone ends up. Without giving anything away the epilogue was just the icing on the cake and makes the story even better.
