In search of a way to undo Rei’s frog transformation before escaping the Mysidia Royal Library’s labyrinthian halls, Shogo realizes he’ll have to trick Byblos into casting “Toad” on Rei again to reverse the spell’s effect! They set their plan into motion with Alus’s help, but Byblos won’t be fooled so easily…
This volume was interesting, albeit short. It's literally 1.5 events in the entire volume. The ending does leave me excited for the next volume, because it ends in a very cool spot though.
I do feel like the story isn't really progressing anywhere at this point, which is a little disappointing, but it does seem like we are getting a little bit of character development, which I think we have been lacking in recent volumes.
It's not boring. The major event of this volume is fairly high stakes and I think it's well done, just didn't expect it to take the entire volume.
3.5 ⭐️ It was a fun read and as with each volume, it makes me want to play Final Fantasy. It also got quite disturbing at the end. However, as it’s been so long since the previous volume had come out I’d forgotten some of what had happened previously.
The gang heads deeper into the library while trying to resolve Rei's Frog status. A plan from Alus goes awry...or does it? It certainly kept me guessing. And now, somehow, they're even further from where they'd intended to be when they started. Whoopsies.
They've definitely toned back the sound effects that were irking me, so that's a bonus too.
Super recomendable.
Much better than the past few volumes. The stuff with the confuse spell was great, it was a jokerfy tf spell! Excited for the next volume from the preview, byblos is a great villain with surprising stating power compared to how he was in the games.
