This is a fantastic book on developing one's relationship with Jesus. Steve Brown is the president of Arrow Leadership and this reflects the values built into the organization. This book is not about creating strategy but about investing in what matters most.

This book was great. I read it slowly over time, one chapter at a time, because I wanted to digest and apply it as I was reading. This is not a complicated or difficult read, it is simple but not simplistic. Whether you are a leader hoping to lead out of wholeness or you are someone who just wants to grow in your walk with Jesus/understanding of Him, I highly recommend this book.

It’s sad to say, but evangelicalism is plagued by pithy slogans. ‘Word-centered,’ ‘Spirit-driven,’ etc. have all become part of our parlance in one form or another. The problem is that everyone thinks they know what they mean, but struggle to flesh them out when asked. ‘Jesus-centered’ is another such phrase, however, Steve A. Brown has done us all a great service in showing us exactly what this means in his latest book of the same name.

Using the Arrow Leadership program’s rubric of ‘led more BY Jesus; lead more LIKE Jesus; lead more TO Jesus’ (full disclosure: I’m an Arrow graduate - Class 52) Brown fleshes out for Christian leaders exactly what that looks like. Helping us ‘focus on Jesus in a distracted world’ Brown does just that, and, boy, do we need that in these days! This book is practical but not prescriptive; brief, but not trite; and written with passion and challenge to the reader. The reflection questions at the end of each chapter, coupled with the end of chapter prayer make this book great for an individual or (even better) for a leadership team, bedding down the content within.

But may I say one more thing, this is a book that brings us back to what spiritual formation is all about, reminding us of the simplicity of our walk with Christ. As leaders we often make things WAY more complicated than we need to. In fact, we often drift away from our centre, we move away from our true north. This book is a clarion call to re-centre ourselves on the right person. In fact, anybody who walks with Christ could read this book and garner great benefit!

I really hope this book gets a wide reading. Buy a stack and then work through it with a bunch of leaders (or upcoming leaders) in your church or parachurch organization. You won’t regret it.

Steve Brown has provided Christian leaders and churches an excellent resource on what matters most - a living, breathing relationship with Jesus that anchors us, shapes our ministry and sharpens our calling to represent Jesus to those around us.
As a pastor I have read a number of books focusing on leadership principles, but what separates Jesus Centered from the others is the clarion call of the opening section about the importance of being led by Jesus. This section is a real game changer in how I perceive who I am in Jesus and the source from which I lead others.
The chapters are succinct, filled with a number of personal and practical antidotes, but the real treasure of Steve’s writing is found at the end of each chapter. There are thought-provoking reflection questions that will shape real-life change to be led more by Jesus, leading more like Jesus and leading others to Jesus, as well as some well-written personal prayers.
As we continue to train leaders within our context, this book will become a small group resource to encourage our people, whether they are leading in their homes, at work or in an area of church ministry.

Steve Brown’s newest book invites you to find your identity in Jesus, imitate the life of Jesus by thinking and acting more like Him and lean into the passions of Jesus by seeking God’s kingdom and pointing others to it.

Jesus Centered offers some well-paced chapters with original thoughts about what it means to live a Jesus Centered life in 2021. Each chapter ends with relevant questions to ponder and apply to your life. As someone who is easily distracted, Steve provides tools for how I might counter that. I also enjoyed the written prayers that Steve offers in each chapter.

Steve Brown’s background in serving and walking alongside leaders (as the President of Arrow Leadership Ministries) shines through in this book. It would be very relevant to any leader in ministry or workplace. The book is full of practical insights and ideas about how you might experience a Jesus centered life. His writing is very accessible, and I plan to invite my small group to use it as a study and discussion guide.

A definite recommend.

In "Jesus Centered," author Steve Brown effectively and powerfully balances the WHY for living a Jesus Centered life with the HOW. As I read each chapter I felt a deeper longing to focus on Jesus combined with tools and resources to do so. This is the theoretical meeting the practical. I recommend this book for small groups, teams, and any individual who wants to focus on Jesus in a distracted world. In the days since reading "Jesus Centered" I have shared numerous quotes, questions, and insights from the book with others. It is immediately impactful and is on my must read list.

I really appreciated the way Brown so poignantly shares real life in the pages of the book. His ability to share story and antidote to the concepts make it both relatable and practical. I've ordered copies for friends, family, and co-workers. This book is absolutely applicable for anyone who wants to know more about living a life focused on Jesus in a world that is full of distractions.

Steve Brown has written a very readable, immediately practical, and spiritually encouraging guide to intentional living, centered (obviously) on the person and work of Jesus of Nazareth. He has incorporated his own personal stories as a leader and follower of Jesus, insights from the Scriptures, solid leadership principles tested out in the lives of leaders through the Arrow Leadership program, along with helpful discussion questions and thoughtful prayers. Right now my wife and I are reading this book together to encourage our relationship with Christ and our leadership in each of our unique spheres. It is already giving us insight into our own leadership, and deepening our respect and love for Jesus. This would be a great tool for leadership teams, leadership development cohorts, mentoring clusters, or personal use!

Steve Brown is a gifted writer. Every chapter in this book will inspire you to become more Jesus focused with personal stories, stories from scripture and stories about others who live Jesus Centred lives. Each chapter contains ideas and strategies that you can put in place immediately as well as reflection questions that will allow you to got deeper. The reflection questions and prayer at the end of each chapter make this a great book to take away with you on a personal spiritual retreat. They also make it a great book to read and discuss together with others in your book club, bible study or prayer group. I had so many personal 'take aways' from this book that I will read it again later this year to continue my personal journey of becoming more Jesus centred and Christ like.

Jesus Centred is a book that examines a lot of the uncovered areas you wouldn't read about in most leadership books but perhaps might be the most important topics for leaders today. Topics like where our identity comes from, how to mentor effectively and the importance of abiding in Christ, are just a few of the highlights for me.

Jesus Centred covers a lot of ground and is an excellent primer to put in the hands of key volunteers and leaders in your ministry setting. It's a great resource that will help you cultivate, HEALTHY, resilient and effective servants for Christ. The discussion questions he includes at the end of each chapter lends itself easily to being a book study for any group of volunteers or staff teams. I'd highly recommend this book.

This is a practical and accessible book that would be an asset in the hands of your ministry teams. With chapters divided into three sections (Led more by Jesus, leading more like Jesus, and leading more to Jesus), this book walks the readers through rediscovering their focus (which is Jesus!). In a fast-paced world, this is a book to be read slowly, and also in community. Planning to read this with my team, using the reflection questions at the end of each chapter. I really appreciated the prayers at the end of each chapter, as they provided a means to focus and dwell with Jesus on the content.

Jesus Centred covers the most important and often overlooked topics for leaders. Chapters such as Loved by Him and Grounded in Him have been a highlight for our small group discussions. The discussion questions included at the end of each chapter provide a great resource for small groups to go deeper in their walk with Jesus. The blend of real-life stories and suggested applications make Jesus Centered both relatable and practical. To live a life focused on Jesus in a world full of distractions, Jesus Centered is an essential read.

Put this book in the hands of as many followers of Jesus as you know. There is such a difference between Jesus being part of your life and Jesus being the center of your life. Steve Brown not only calls people to be focused on what’s most important, but also provides practical equipping to help you live it out. This is a great resource for both the experienced and new Christian.

This well-written, practical guide has the affect of reducing the white noise of religious and cultural expectations in order to hear the call of Jesus more clearly. Steve Brown has skillfully combined stories, Scriptures, and useful questions to help Christian readers rediscover a sense of adventure in following Jesus.

An encouraging read to inspire you in your walk with Jesus. I think the title is apt as I felt spurred on to keep Jesus at the centre of all I do. I think I felt like the book was light on and could have gone a bit deeper into some of the topics explored, but being short meant it felt brilliantly accessible!

A book that was a bible study by my church before I became part of the congregation. I was in a low time in my life, and my pastor offered me reading material while waiting in the hospital.
It had parts that I felt inspired by with great reflections on being Christian, and answering our calling. I had pages I'd folded to go back and reread because of the emotions it stirred.
A wonderful read, glad it's part of our church library.
