Rate this book
Can two people who hurt each other find their second chance at love?

They walked away from it all. They spent their life regretting it. Casey Fitzgerald gave up everything to come home when his family needed him. He left his band at the height of their newfound success. But more importantly, he left Levi. If he hadn’t been so stubborn, perhaps, they could have found a way to keep it all. Levi Reilly tried to make it work. He was angry and devastated when Casey left him. Their success came fast, and it was taken away just as quickly by the man he loved. He tried to go on without him, but life without Casey had no harmony. Ten years later, Levi returns to their small hometown to work at a puppy rescue. How do you move on when you never really let go? Will Casey and Levi find a way to put aside their past so they can have a future?

Music, puppies, and lost love. Yes!

Welcome back to The Pleasant... Point Pleasant, that is. I love it here! Small town feel, wonderful characters, celebs, and old friends. Everyone hugged me with open arms. Crystal and her gay brigade. Sam, Hart, Lucas, Blake, Danny, Grayson... And Abby. I love them all! Oh, and the most adorable puppy with a killer set of wheels. This sweet St. Patty's Day story follows Casey & Levi. After breaking up their music duo & relationship ten years ago, fate has them coming together for a great cause: a fund raiser for the local pet rescue. They were always meant to be together. You will feel for Pete, a really nice guy who deserves his own HEA. But HEA is as inevitable as Levi & Casey's love... for their music & each other. Come. Join them on their journey. You will be glad you did!
I recommend taking the time to read the rest of the Point Pleasant books. Time. Well. Spent.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

EVERYONE knows that Friends episode where Ross does the whole “y-o-u-r is YOUR”. Everyone except for this author. COME ON !!!! A simple read through, your alpha reader, your beta reader, someone who got an ARC, SOMEONE should have pointed that out !!! Then there’s “even in the VEST of times”, good gracious.

Look. Even if I managed to force myself to read a book riddled with the most basic fixable grammatical error, the story was kinda boring. I felt like the characters were a little one dimensional, the story was dragging, I could not for the life of me get invested in their story. I essentially skipped from 22% to the last oh, 3 chapters, only to find out that guess what ? The names got switched around, A LOT. The dialogue has ... issues. Meaning, almost in every conversation there’s a whole dot, dot, dot going on to break up sentences. It’s truly not necessary to do that every single damn time. This simply read amateurish at best. I was gonna hold off on a rating but nah, this totally deserves the one star.

There's nothing I enjoy more than curling up on the couch, and diving into a book by Shane Morton.
In Getting Shamrocked, Levi and Casey were a couple who went off to chase their music dreams together. Some things occur, leading to the end of their music duo and their relationship. Ten years pass, and Levi returns home to Point Pleasant, not knowing that Casey has moved back as well, leading them to looking at whether they have a second chance at love. Shamrocked is a great second chance, low angst romance. I adored both Levi and Casey, and was rooting for them. I appreciated that they talked things out like adults, no petty drama. Other things I loved: rescue dogs and Casey's sister Abby. If you are looking for a story with two characters who never stopped loving each other, small town romance, and second chance romance, this is a perfect book!

Great story line but....

If it weren't for the well developed and interesting story line this book would have been closed after the first few pages. Poor, inappropriate or missing punctuation, mixed tenses, unclear pronouns, and generally poor syntax made this book very difficult for my to stay with - if not for the overall story line which was well done. This shows the value of a good editor or a good high school English teacher.
