Seniors Series #1

Madali lang daw ang maging honor student. You just have to mix intelligence, perseverance and start being assiduous with almost everything - then you'll be rewarded with the medals you have always yearned for. Zafirah Sidney Sanchez has always been like that ever since she stepped her feet in the school grounds. Kaakibat ng pagiging honor student niya, she has always put her grades above everything and believes that she can be the best among the rest.

When she met Sarathiel Zyler Aracosa of the STEM strand, he trampled on her ego when his grades were greater than hers and to add salt to the wounds - the guy did it so effortlessly. Being affronted with the sudden revelation that her enemy might just have it all even without inserting any effort, Zafirah made it her school life's mission to beat him when it comes to academics.

But what if instead of the passionate hatred that she is insisting to have for him, a burning love would surface?

And if things go wrong, who do we hold accountable for our choices? It is our hearts or our minds?

My fellow friend actually recommended this book to me!! Thank you ;)

★★★☆☆/5 stars!!

Well, I actually love the mental health representation in this book. Being an academic achiever isn't easy. It's actually hard and it could be depressing too.

✧.*ROMANCE: 80%

Whenever I read a romance book and the main character and love interest are a couple already, I just get bored with it. And this is exactly how I felt when Zafi and Sath got together. Anyway, I still enjoyed the:

"Wanna talk about Pre Cal?"

Well, at least things worked out between them.

✧.*CHARCTHERS: 85%

Czanne is one of the characters I was interested in. She has a point about the relationship between Sath and Zafi, but her insults are just not it. The rest of the characters seems fun! Can't wait to read their story.

✧.*PLOT:89%

The plot was somehow helpful to me. I learned to not stress too much about my grades. So, pretty much helpful.

To sum it up, this book was enjoyable but forgettable (well, the plot will probably live in the back of mind for a while)

could have been better if we got to know more about the MC 😐 it feels like he's just a supporting character on this story

idk if i'll continue reading this series but i'd like to show my appreciation to the author for highlighting the importance of mental health :")

While I appreciate that this book tackles the issue of depression & how Filipinos act towards people with depression, it was really hard for me to get into it. The beginning was cute & I was all smiles, but then it just started to drag barely halfway through. I think this could still use a lot of editing. There were just too many grammatical errors (at least the parts in English, but I’m not sure about Tagalog grammar rules) & a lot of fillers. It just felt all over the place. I don’t think this needed to be a 40-chapter book. It could have been much shorter. There were some parts where I felt “kilig,” but most of it was just too cheesy. Some chapters were redundant. There were times where I felt like I was reading the same thing over & over in each paragraph, but the sentences were just worded differently.

Additionally, I was hoping for a little more background about the main character. I was just confused about why she was the way she was when she seemed to have been raised differently. I don’t know if that makes sense, but this is exactly why I need more details. Lol.

I don’t think I want to read the rest of the series now, but I did enjoy some of the characters, like Gio & Iscalade, so maybe I’ll check out their stories someday.

Another hidden gem sa Wattpad. ✨

I'll definitely recommend this story! ✨

This was a fantastic and entertaining read! I like how it addresses various important issues such as mental health and toxic coping with academic validation. It's also a healthy conversation about academic pressure and not being able to give love in a healthy way when you don't love yourself. It's a very important book, and the author really highlights some of the most pressing issues that students face on a daily basis.

It makes me want to grow up faster just to experience senior high, but it also makes me NOT want to because this book emphasizes how important it is to enjoy the process of growing up, making mistakes, and making memories!! I appreciate how this book addresses friendship, family, and relationships. It also teaches you about senior high school! Which I find to be both educational and interesting.

The romance in this book was both funny and romantic. I had laughed throughout the courtship stage, especially when they pretended to dislike each other's company despite the fact that they don't! The tension was fantastic. I like the contrasts between the two characters. I like Sath's cute guy lowkey genius personality and Zaf's strong, fierce, and relatable character. They make such cute interactions, and it was so clear that Sath was whipped as fuck.

I just thought the romance was a little too fast-paced, and the sexual tension and teasing stage ended much sooner than I expected. I just wish it was a little slow burn! The plot was also promising and nice; it wasn't too heavy and was exactly what I expected. I felt a lot of second-hand embarrassment while reading this book, and it had a lot of cringe moments, but it was still a great read!

I didn’t really feel connected to the characters at all. Sath (?) didn’t stand out—he barely had any personality and seemed to exist only so Zaf would have a partner. In fact, Gio and Iscalade felt much more fleshed out compared to him. Both main characters are underdeveloped, with personalities that come across as inconsistent. The story does capture the essence of high school memories, it still ends up feeling lacking overall.

to love someone who is as endearing as you least expect it — pure, unfiltered, and beautiful.

while i was reading this (i didn’t even notice it at first) i was acting all giddy while grinning at the same time 😭 the trope itself had me hooked ! perhaps this may come off as bias pero i’m truly interested in anything academically, hence why the book caught my eye.

the beauty of high school love made itself evident and stand out all throughout the story, and perhaps in those moments of candidness, that is where we find ourselves immersed in reading. i personally enjoyed the interactions between sarathiel and zafi! i love the way sarathiel acts, and as good as he is; he is fictional at no doubt.

and i also related a lot with the circumstances that zafi was in. perhaps we tend to destroy ourselves once beleaguered by our fears and anxieties. and that destruction was dire. it was infectious. all while withering herself away, she too had tainted their relationship. but even so, if love was already rooted firmly in the beginning, perhaps their fallout was merely soil covering the fruits of their hearts. and with communication, they found themselves together, — renewed, stronger than before, and thriving!

AAA AND ALONG THE STORY I ABSOLUTELY ADORED THE SIDE CHARACTERS 😭 gio, ade, and everyone else ! they made the story so much more compelling and entertaining <3

albeit i only gave the book 3 stars, it was a good book! and perhaps what made me have the inkling to diminish my rating is the grammar 😭 i’m not even a grammar nazi nor a copyreader pero i’m sorry, some sentences really ticked me off. bc of this, it made the rest of the story unbearable to read overall. tho that’s just a personal opinion and we eventually learn to overlook the errors so that’s alr! and the story had also stated that sath himself was suffering, however, i feel as though na overlook yung sinabi ni czanne na umiiyak din daw si sath. i wished the author was a tad bit more punctilious and had a sharper lens focusing on sath’s side more, kasi sa pov niya di masyado na mention yung struggles. anyw, sath and zafi 🫂

Firstly, I would like to say that I really loved this story especially miss li's writing style. It did not feel too much compared to other books I have read that were has a very messy writing style for me. The story and plot are interesting from the start till the end; it was very interesting to me and it made hook with the story that I read it for only 4 days.

Second, I liked the characters a lot. Zafirah was very relatable to me. It felt like the story was too short for me since I wanted to know more about her, but with that being said I also wanted to know more about Sarathiel. It did not feel like he was the main character a long-side Zafirah. Gio stood out to me more than him, even though out of all the guys introduced Sath was my type. He very much felt like a supporting role. But still liked the pairing of Zafirah and him. I liked that the story had the right amount of romance.

"I'm all ears," if I remember it correctly. It was on the chapter where it was Sath's point of view of Zafi opening up to him was one of the most memorable lines alongside the ways he said I love you to her. For Zafirah, I have a lot to mention. What I loved the most was her character development, though I think I needed more chapters on how she handled her stress because of academics and how she overcomes everything she was thinking that affected how she treated/acted toward people because of academics.

Lastly, I would love to see how miss li progresses as a writer as I read this series. This is a great story but I do think she has a lot to improve in still. One of them is how she writes her characters, I think. Hope to see more about Sath and Zafirah.

PS: If I ever change my opinions about this book, I will be editing this. Though what is written right now is a little messy and maybe worded badly, so I apologize.

I like this book. As an academic achiever, I experienced what happened to Zafi and I was able to relate to her. I love how this book even discussed about mental health.

Though, for me, Sath is too good to be true. He was like, perfect. He's good-looking, kind, smart, rich. And the typical, cold and quiet guy. He was cliche. The rich kid that was never taken care of by his parents. The-FL-is-the-only-one-the-ML-treats-good kind of guy. That was the most unrealistic thing about him. He is so kind to her.

But overall, it's great. Some cliches are good when you are able to write it correctly. And sometimes, you just got used to the cliche, it doesn't feel right when its not in the story. In this case, I think the author just did fine. I really learned a lot of lessons in the story as well.

I have to say, the plot and the issues it brought light into is quite thoughtful. The only issue I had is the characters and the plot itself. Legit I liked the first part of the story but as it progresses, it felt like a filler was put in place since the pacing of the plot was chaotic. And the 40 chapters this book was in was insane. I felt like it could be compounded to just 20 chapters since most of the chapters would be just the same setting and some were not really relevant to the main plot or quite redundant. It gave me a reading slump and I was glad it ended. The main character also wasn't fleshed out more as opposed to other characters, which is odd because we, the readers, follow the main character's perspective and narrative so it was quite odd thing to notice as I was reading through it.

Cute and light story! Perfect if you just want to feel kilig and find comfort. I enjoyed it! I just hope the romance theme was shown more. I feel like mas nag focus sya sa life ng main character, which isn't bad, but I need more of those romantic scenes. This book made me look forward to senior high school. Although I just feel like something is missing. It didn't engage me enough. I fully relate to Zafirah and her fear of academic failure. Sath was not a strong character for me, and sometimes I find him lacking something. He was a red flag for not distancing himself from Czanne and even requesting for them to just be friends when she just confessed her feelings, and Zafirah was uncomfortable.

I really love how the story actually revolved around their senior high school life. Hindi lang pang-display yung title ng series. It reminded me of my SHS and probably the best two years of my life kaya I kinda missed it.

This book had me at Chapter 1 tbh haha

I love the message na gusto iparating ng author and for sure nakaka-relate dito yung mga students na nag-fail like me. Zaf's thoughts reflected mine so this story will remain personal to me.

Na-curious ako sa mga characters na most probably part ng series so I'll read them next hehe ~

I finally finished the first 4 books (did not read them in order) and I have Bits of Chemistry left. Honestly, I'm a sucker for Wattpad books no matter how many times a person tries to convince me that my standards for men are so shallow and have no depth at all because most of them are from Wattpad. Sarathiel was such a green flag and even if I want to try reading more slowburn books, these fast-paced ones still make me feel A LOT.

Sana... ako din HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I LOVED THESE GUYS. MOST FAVORITE WATTPAD SERIES KO NA 'TO. I LOVE LOVE LOVED EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF ME READING THESE BOOKS.

Thank you for writing these stories Miss Li ❤️

See ya soon Lavy & 18

“Kahit nakakapagod, Zafirah. Ikaw pa rin naman. Sa’yo lang ako mapapagod pero hindi kita kayang sukuan.”

"Please be with me there, in our tomorrows. I want you to be there for me. I want to see you in my tomorrow, Zafirah. I want you to be there."

‘Sarathiel made me grow. I'm happy to be with someone who let's me grow on my own and doesn't hesitate to help me to learn more about myself. We all deserve that kind of love. A love that makes us grow as a person.’ :c

Halfway ng pagbabasa napatigil ako to reflect on my own life. I also love how at the end she used her maiden name para sa work.

5/5. This is my favorite among all the senior high series. This story got me kicking my feet in the air, blushing, giggling aaaa. I’ve learned a lot from this story. I love how this story also focuses on mental health, It helped me realize many things and remind me that I'm not alone. I see a lot of myself in Zafirah. I love Zafirah’s strong personality, and Sath has definitely raised my standards even higher.

The series are short—not a bad thing if your snoozing for a light-kind of plot—and the characters are just as greens as salad. The only thing that I realized is that how the translation of events are pacing fast; and some details could've slipped in some gaps but is maybe deducted because the series is supposed to be short.

It was enjoyable. I can relate a lot to Zafirah especially in terms of academics. Hindi ko siya na-five stars 'cause I feel like parang may kulang? IDK, nabitin ako, eh! Pero maybe, kapag nakabili ako ng book to read the special chapters ma-edit ko 'tong review ko hehe. Pero all in all, I enjoyed it! Maganda rin 'yung writing style ng author, love it!

I'm disappointed. Despite people saying it's good, I honestly wasn't too fond of it. I found grammar errors on several pages, and I couldn't grasp the plot. The pacing was too fast and confusing, and the dialogue of the characters made me cringe. The book cover is okay, and the artwork is good. However, the inclusions, like the postcard, just didn't work for me. Also, it was missing a bookmark.

5 stars! Is this her debut wattpad story? However, thank you for addressing discrimination among strands and mental health.

I would like to recommend this to my students since they're already in shs.

honestly, if this was supposed to be an enemies-to-lovers trope, medyo nakulangan ako sa banters nila as enemies.

and it took me a while to finish this. but glad i was able to finish it yesterday, because i love how the author tackled such a sensitive topic with so much care to its characters. hindi lang basta in-insert. and i love it for that. 3.5

i have the physical copy and i can say that as a student who is also grade conscious... i can honestly relate to zafi. her struggles was well-portrated and a student (like me) can relate to her in many ways.

i also love how sath reassures her in a greatest possible way. i love how they met and their dynamics as a coupleee! i’ll always associate blueberry cheesecake to themm :))
