A Hero Next Door

Rate this book
Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
Where there’s a siren, there’s an officer.
Where there’s an emergency, there’s a hero.

If you have a cat in the tree, an accident that could cost you your life, or a wound you think will never heal, there’s a hero in here for you. Love, lust, and longing spread when emotions run high and tension is about to crack.

Not every hero wears a uniform, some could be closer than you think.

Grab yourself this collection of tales about the hero next door, and fall in love with a sense of security only our (wo)men can give you.

After being married for ten years and raising three beautiful kids I decided it was time to do something for myself. My passion for reading bled over with a need to tell the story that was repeating in my head and that was the birth of my first book. The rest they say is history.

I love the creative release that writing gives you, being able to take someone away to a different world feels amazing. As a reader I know how important that escape is, and as a writer I love to be able to give people that.

My other loves include music and reading (in case I haven't mentioned that before) and then when I have time a little more reading. I think if I could read for a living I would, but since I can't I will continue on the writing side of things.

I was really looking forward to reading this anthology...even more so after knowing that the theme was hero's next door and the proceeds were going to an nhs charity.
I originally bought this due to one author but I can say that there was quite a few authors that I really enjoyed reading.
I love how an anthology starts off with one theme and each other gives you a completely different story along that theme.
So firstly I bought this for TL Wainwright... and That Man Sam did not disappoint one bit.. full of humour and banter with a hot hero thrown in to boot..just what you'd expect from one of her stories!
But I also really liked JF Holland and her story set around the Klutzy Lindsay and her firefighter neighbour Neil.. loved that cat too!
TA McKay gave us an ultimate hot and swoon worthy MM story with Joshua and Walker that I never wanted to end! Loved these pair so much!
Overall a great anthology.

This is a review for JF Holland’s Love Can be Hazardous.

I loved this sweet romance, Lindsay is down to earth, unlucky in love and a train wreck waiting to happen with her clumsiness, but she made me smile and laugh at times in this feel good story that I enjoyed reading.
PS I totally fell in love with Smooch and Neil too!!!!
And I’m hoping we get to read more to this story.

So much that was badly written with bad grammar. Too much 1st POV + Present tense for my liking.
Used it to tide me over between books, but had to "dnf" about halfway through, sorry.
