Unofficial english name: Intoxicated (also known as Ni Jiu). Length: 85 chapters + extras. Manhua adaptation's name: (discontinued official translation) Intoxicated.
I enjoyed this one a lot from beginning to end, so it's definitely a 5 stars for me. I had read the manhua before so I knew the full story, but I remembered a comment I saw saying that the manhua changed bits of ML's personality, and he became more likeable there. Now I can confirm that it's true, ML's character here is more of an asshole, but the development was still great, and some scenes make much more sense. The main difference is that the manhua makes the plot more fluffy, while the manhua is a bit more emotional, with the right tone at the most important scenes (especially at the beginning).
The plot is about Shen Tingwei, an omega who suddenly wakes up in the middle of a road after an accident he had. He goes to the first pharmacy he sees, because he notices he's in heat, but cannot find any supressors. He meets a man, Lin Jue, and he will discover he's a rich CEO that comes from an important family. Shen Tingwei is desperate for help, so he begs Lian Jue. The man brings him to a hotel, and both have sex. MC later realizes that he's in a different world, one that doesn't have a/b/o designations, and things will get more complicated when he has to face the effects of meeting Lin Jue in his body.
First of all, I want to highlight how amazing the idea is. An omega transmigrating into the real world sounds like an intriguing start. The story gets more interesting because of the main characters. Both struggle a lot with communication between them because of the differences in their worlds and personalities. Both are introverted and repress a lot of themselves. While Lin Jue doesn't feel a lot, Shen Tingwei is the opposite but he still keeps them to himself. So the main problem at the beginning is that both don't exteriorize their emotions, either by hiding (MC) or avoiding them (ML). Their growth felt organic after having conflicts and realizing their flaws: from how Shen Tingwei was used to lower his head and accept everything to actually saying what he wants outloud and showing it with actions, as well as how Lin Jue finds out he cannot control everything and he must let go of thinking rationally all the time, because communicating and demostrating love are the keys to a good relationship.
I also wanted to discuss a bit more about Lin Jue's character. I was satisfied with his development because it made an impact in all aspects in his life, both in showing his appreciation of Shen Tingwei, to his relationship with Tongtong (his son). Shen Tingwei and the kid's bond is also worth to highlight, all the scenes they had together since they met were adorable. It's heartwarming the fact that all of them three needed a home, and they formed one by becoming a family. This is also shown literally in the last chapters of the novel, where Shen Tingwei says he doesn't have a home, and Lin Jue replies that he'll give them one, both of them arriving to their new house and meeting Tongtong.
The last big event having many layers for both was very important. From Shen Tingwei to Lin Jue FINALLY exteriorizing his desperation and letting himself feel because all he wants is Shen Tingwei safe with him, all of that was necessary and well done. It needed to happen for the two of them to have closure with their personal conflicts. I also loved that the extras were comedic, a great change of tone after going through a lot in the last chapters, it was like a breath of fresh air. The one thing that I wished was different, but I understood the reason it had that ending is that . At least everyone is doing better now. Overall, a great mix of drama, a few doses of angst and smut (which I never expected, I would've never thought Lin Jue was mean in bed! The manhua having to censor that was a great lost, but I also enjoyed that adaptation so I'm satisfied with both).
ʕಠ_ಠʔ
Realmente no sabía qué esperar.
Although I give this 4 stars, this was probably one of my favorites. I love their character development, and the story was surprisingly funny and cute (especially the extras)
