Stealth Ops #10

Chasing the Storm

Rate this book
From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brittney Sahin comes a sizzling new romantic suspense.

Cold one minute. Hot the next. She gives him whiplash, and he’s either going to ditch his duties . . . or make her his.

She was only supposed to be a quick assignment for Dalton “Finn” Finnegan—bodyguard for the sister of a friend, kind of gig. As the only single guy on Echo Team, an elite unit of off-the-books Navy SEALs, Finn’s certain his teammates are hoping to play matchmaker between him and the headstrong and gorgeous brunette.

Julia Maddox, a millionaire businesswoman with a passion for helping veterans, doesn’t want protection or love. But when she starts receiving threats from an unknown source, her brother calls in a favor. The last thing she needs is a sexy six-foot-tall roadblock standing in her way as she’s desperate to atone for her past and help save a friend.

And yet, her ice-cold attitude toward Finn slowly melts and things between them start to heat up when they find themselves halfway across the world on a wild adventure neither saw coming.

But despite their sizzling chemistry, Finn’s as reluctant to fall for Julia as she is for him, and he’s all too familiar with guilt. As they travel from Egypt and on to Dubai, they learn they’re mixed up in something much more dangerous than either imagined, and Finn is forced to conquer his own demons or risk losing the girl.

Will they be able to shelter their hearts while they weather the storm, or is one bound to get broken?

Chasing the Storm is a full-length standalone romance military novel with no cliffhanger and a happily-ever-after.

Brittney Sahin began writing at an early age, with the dream to be a published author before the age of 18. Although academic pursuits (and, later, a teaching career) interrupted her aspirations, she never stopped writing—never stopped imagining.

It wasn’t until her students encouraged her to follow her dreams that Brittney said goodbye to Upstate New York in order to start a new adventure in the place she was raised: Charlotte, North Carolina. Here, she decided to take her students’ advice and begin to write again.

In 2015, she published her first novel, The Safe Bet. When she is not working on upcoming novels, she spends time with her family. She is a proud mother of two boys and a lover of suspense novels, coffee, and the outdoors.

I was fortunate enough to be able to read and review an ARC of Brittney's latest offering in The Stealth Ops Series . I for one find it bittersweet, because this is the last in an incredible series that from the first book grabbed me and made a fan of Brittney for life. We get to meet Julia,a smart, strongly driven to accomplish her goal woman dealing with past heartaches, who refuses to allow family or the Teams to stop her. The character of Dalton Finnegan has always been the happy go lucky jokester, well the curtains are pulled back and we get a see the real man with so many layers of pain, regret, fear and nuances that Brittney allowed us to discover. So many little things in this book, that I wish I could expand on without spoiling it for someone else. Old friends from other series drop in to make an appearance. Queen B is the master of weaving the various threads into a concise and cohesive story that will leave you at times, cussing, crying and cheering. This book of Storms is a fitting end to an era. Looking forward to what she creates next. 5 stars aren't even close to what this book deserves .

As this is the last book in this series, I wanted to savor it. Enjoy every word, escape into the story, and appreciate the work of this author. Welp! That was a great plan that failed. I devoured the book, just kept turning pages, until there were no more to turn. I also did not think the author could better her last book, but I was pleasantly surprised.

All of our friends from both teams make an appearance. Finn and Julia are written beautifully, the perfect storm. From one page to the next, the energy and excitement add in twists and turns, intrigue, multiple countries, and a race against time had me thoroughly engaged. In addition, we are treated to 80s pop culture, great dialog, a fantastic epilogue with a hint for the future.
Chasing the Storm is book ten in the series, the end of this storyline. It will stand alone. I recommend starting from the beginning and binging the whole series in order.
Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Chasing the Storm, Book 10 of the Stealth Ops Series by Brittney Sahin, is one of the best and well-written stories that I have read in a long time. The plot is detailed with the appropriate background information to make this narrative a stand-alone novel and convoluted enough to keep readers guessing about what might happen next. Sahin’s heroine Julia Sophia Maddox and hero Dalton Samuel Finnegan (Finn) will steal hearts. Their lives are realistic in that their emotions are discussed in an authentic manner, and the methods used to overcome debilitating problems are worked through using proper medical treatments. Sahin's stories are uniquely different every time, but always well planned with characters who connect with each other and the readers. Their lives intertwine, and it’s always interesting to get updates on the people from previous stories.

This book is Julia and Finn’s story and revolves around Julia’s friend Oliver who has been incarcerated for a murder that he did not commit. He has been imprisoned in Egypt and slated for execution. He was set up, and because the case involved members of the royal family, the United States government would not help in his release. Julia’s determination to rescue Oliver gets her in trouble as Oliver’s case overlaps the SEALs’ case. She is drawn into their super-secret endeavors and learns much about what the military does through their working together. Since Finn is military (and Julia has already lost a young love to the service), she fights their attraction, and he does the same for his own personal reasons.

The book is filled with love, danger, real-world experiences, and an HEA—enough to keep romance lovers entertained and on the edge of their seats. This last addition to the Stealth Ops series is definitely another hit for Sahin. However, they ARE recruiting new and younger members to the teams, so maybe there will be spinoffs or more stories or “new adventures” as POTUS says. The possibilities are endless.

A storm is a coming, the final ending of the whole Stealth Series with Finn and Julia.
A story full of movie one liners, 80s characters and both teams are back together in this action packed story oh and the romance is a five alarm fire, but of course you got your interruptions that happen! I love all the mummy references in this book as long as the scenery of the store it really made you envision it while you were reading.
Brittney hasn't disappointed yet and its a bitter sweet end to these seals but I'm sure we will see them again! Top read of 2021!

Love on the Nile

Finn…
Everything he does, he does it for you.

This is the tenth and final book in the Stealth Ops series. We’ve all waited for Finn’s story and here it is.

Dalton Finnegan, Echo 5, always quick with a joke to relieve the tension, keeper of all secrets for his teammates, family and his own. Haunted by his past, wishing he had the strength to move forward.
With all of Bravo & Echo finding love and settling down, Finn is the last man standing, the last SINGLE man.
He’s resigned to being an uncle to all the kids, doesn’t believe marriage and a family are in the cards for him.
Then he draws the short straw.

Julia Maddox is no stranger to military life. Her big brother is Michael Maddox, a former Marine, developer and owner of a major tech company that designs tactical software currently in use by US government agencies.
Fans of the author’s work will remember Julia from her earlier book, The Safe Bet. Julia works with Michael, for his foundation to help wounded veterans and is also keeping secrets of her own.

She is Finn’s current mission, his short straw. Julia has been receiving threatening messages that she is just tossing away. Finn has been tasked as her bodyguard, which Julia rejects & rebuffs at every opportunity. He calls her hurricane, no tornado Julia, a force to be reckoned with, leaving her mark in her wake.

While Echo & Bravo are on stand-by, waiting to spin up on a mission that will take them back to the Middle East, Julia is also on a quest that will take her across the globe. Finn can’t wait to pass off his bodyguard duties to another and get back to what he knows best, but will he?
This story has it all, suspense, murder mystery, high stakes adventures and forever-forever love. 💞

Having the final saga in this series is bittersweet. Now that it’s here, I just don’t want to say goodbye.
Luckily for us Brittney has a new series planned and we know she loves to do crossovers. 😉😎

Finn and Julia OMG what a story!!! I can't say enough about this story because it is that good. I fell in love with Finn at the start of the Echo series and I was so thrilled that Brittney did not let me down with his book, he is up there with A.J as far as I am concerned He was my favorite but I think i just might have to stick with Finn now. This is a stand alone story but to really get to know all the characters you need to read the rest of Brittney Sahins Stealth Ops series i promise that you will not be disappointed. It is sad to see the end of Echo team but so excited to see the Charlie series start. Great job Brittney!

“I want you to be my forever-forever. My ride or die. My storm.”

I've got so many emotions right now. This is the 10th and final book and I feel like I want to cry. I've been reading these books in this series since the first one was released back in September 2018. I've grown so damn attached to all these characters and I'm finding it really hard to let them all go. I'm just not ready to say goodbye just yet but I know all good things must come to an end but I still want to bawl my eyes out lol.

Brittney yet again has taken us on one hell of a ride and adventure and given us all the twist and turns with this plot. I swear I really don't know how she does it. This story gave me so many emotions then the others because its the end of an era *sobs uncontrollably*. But it ends so perfectly that I cried happy tears.

I'm not giving anything away about the story but the only things I will say is we've always seen Finn as the happy-go-lucky kind of man who likes to joke alot but in this book we get to see him like we've never seen him before. Finn has lost someone in his life that he believes is his fault and he put the blame on himself for what happened. He's got so much pain and regret. Then there's Julia who's Michael Maddox(from another one of Brittney's books) sister. She's a smart, driven, stubborn, determined and well accomplished woman. But like Finn she's lost someone and still feels guilt and blames herself over what happened.

I've laugh, swooned, said OMG and NOOOO, had the hand on the heart moments more than a few times, cried happy and sad tears all throughout the book and cheered lol.

I love each and every couple in all the books. But Big Guy Asher(Bravo Three) and Ass of America Chris(Echo Three) I'm going to miss them most of all lol.

This may be the end of an era but there's a next generation series in the pipeline with some of the characters we've already met. So as I'm crying as I write this I know that we'll definitely/hopefully see Brave and Echo couples in the next generation series.

Man. I’m pretty sure when Brittney Sahin sat down to write this, she thought: “Let me give my readers a book hangover.” as she rubbed her hands together and cackled evilly. I’m totally joking. But maybe she did a little.

What I love about her writing is how descriptive she is. I can see myself in the story and whatever location the characters are at. I felt like I was right there with the team trying to stop the terrorists. Normally I can finish a book within just a couple hours but with “Chasing The Storm”, I savoured every word and situation the team was going through.

The team has been hired by a past character, Michael Maddox, to protect his sister, Julia, who has been getting threats. Julia is strong and stubborn like her brother so she’s not happy about this bodyguard arrangement. Finn isn’t happy either because he feels an instant connection to Julia. But with the life he lives, he’s sworn off relationships. Julia is determined to save her friend who has been falsely accused and is scheduled to be executed in Egypt. The story focuses around Julia doing whatever she can to overturn this and save her friend.

No one writes romantic suspense like Brittney Sahin. The angst and the buildup between Julia and Finn is sinfully delicious. Finn has been a favorite character of mine for a long time and I loved his story. His background is sad and tortured having lost a brother and basically his parents too. Julia is an independent and a force to be reckoned with. She also has a tragic past that keeps her back from personal relationships.

While this is the end of the Stealth Ops series, we’re not left hanging. A new series is in development and I know we’ll see more of our favourite military men with their kickass ladies.

Just when you think Brittney can’t top her writing game…. She proves you wrong… again.

Chasing the Storm “chased” one of my favourite all time Brittney Sahin books, Chasing Shadows, which, in my humble opinion, was near perfect.

So how does a writer deal with that kind of pressure in trying to deliver, not only the next in the series, but the last in the Stealth Ops series as we know it?

Near perfectly once again.

Dalton “Finn” Finnegan, or the last of the FSG’s (forever single guys) falls and falls hard for Julia “Jewels” Maddox. They may have started out in a love to hate you relationship but their chemistry from the get go is fire!!!

As we can expect, Brittney weaves an epic tale that travels the globe where the good guys always win, and the bad guys get what they deserve. But her stories are always fresh and exciting along with her main characters. Nothing feels repetitive, which is hard to do when you’re on book 10!!

There is an undeniable brotherhood amongst Bravo and Echo Teams but what’s amazing is the sisterhood bond between all the amazing female characters too.

Love this series and am sad to see it come to an end as we know the Teams. That said, I’m extremely excited to meet Charlie Team!!!

Well done & congrats again on a fantastic finish to one of my all time fave series. Bring on the re-reads!

Five stars all the way!

Chasing the Storm is the last book in the Stealth Ops series. Brittney Sahin once again wrote another intricate story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. She weaves stories that instantly captivates her audience and keep you glued until the end.

This is the story of Dalton “Finn” Finnegan, Echo Five, and Julia Maddox. Both characters are harboring guilt from their past. But two guilt don’t make one right. Finn is a ride or die guy who will do anything for those he cares about; and Julia is a stubborn and strong willed person who will move mountains no matter what just to save someone. Julia’s determination to save her friend is the catalyst that brought them together. They fought their attraction to each other because of fear, but eventually love prevailed.

This book packed so much that you don’t want to miss it. There is something for everyone. Action packed, slow-burn, steamy, drama, comedy, angles, movie references, and the '80s! I don’t want to spoil anything so go read it now!

I'm sad that this is the end of the series but at the same time excited for the next generation.

Awe Finn and Jewels…what a ride!! If you love the Stealth Ops series you will love this next installment as much as I did!

Chasing the Storm finds the team in hot water once again and racing to help a friend in need. Julia is slow to trust the Echo guys but we have seen that before. Thankfully that big softy Finn brought it out of her before it’s too late!

As a child of the 80s this book gave me the extra feel with all the throw backs to the 80s movies, music and trivia. I loved every reference! Thank you for that Brittney! I also loved the nod to a special fan in the book! (If you know you know!)

I am sad to see the Echo stories ending but I am so excited for Charlie Team and eventually Delta Team to join forces with Echo and Bravo!

Thank you Brittney for another amazing ride with the men in Bravo and Echo!

Chasing The Storm is a bittersweet ending to the Stealth Ops Series.  However, I have no doubt that Sahin will use this ending to make a new beginning for characters and storylines that will capture both our hearts and our minds. Cheers 🥂 Brittney Sahin and Thank You!

Dalton ‘Finn’ Finnegan is the last single man standing among Bravo and Echo Teams.  We begin to see his loneliness even through his humor.  He gets a glimpse of what ifs and maybes when he encounters Julia Maddox, a successful billionaire businesswoman in the business of helping veterans.  She’s intelligent, successful, and beautiful.  The total package.  She has secrets, something they both share.

When Finn is tasked with being her personal security, something neither of them wants, he gets glimpses of the woman within.  And he allows her to see vulnerable spots In himself.  The couple are thrown together in a situation that neither saw a connection to.  But in the end, one leads to the other. Trust is their power and weakness.  Finn is troubled by his feelings and whether to confess his hidden demons.  Once again, they find themselves almost mirroring each other.

Julia’s as stubborn as Finn.  Both protecting those they love.  She vowed to forget love and he doesn’t feel worthy.  But with the stakes of love and the possibility of a HEA on the line, maybe their storm is worth the fight!

We get visits from teammates and former acquaintances.  These supporting characters never disappoint.

Bravo and Echo have fought the hard fight and have been rewarded with everything readers had hoped for.

Finding His Mark started my love affair with Brittney Sahin's storytelling. It's one of the best series I've ever come across. The world she created and the characters she populated it with have become special to her readers. Reading this last book in the Stealth Op series was like sliding into a comfy old sweater. Each book is a standalone but each brings a layer of the familiar without distracting from the new adventure. I was so darn happy when I finished the last page. Not because I was glad it ended, but because it was the perfect ending to a wonderful adventure and the catalyst for new ones.
Julia and Finn....gosh I just loved them both. They each struggled with emotional scars from the loss of a loved one. When her attempt to save someone else she loves becomes tangled up with Echo team's mission, they finally begin to give in to the attraction they feel. What was so beautiful was how attuned they were to each other without even realizing it. Quiet looks and touches that conveyed how much the other meant...even before they fully acknowledged thier need for one another. Wow. I don't know that I've ever been more invested in one of her couples. I am absolutely thrilled to know that there is more to come from this author. This is a series I will revisit often.

This book was so bitter sweet, after reading all ten books it was hard knowing this was it. Brittney Sahin delivered a knock out with Finn and Julia. Chasing The Storm has become one of my top three favorite books of the series. It was truly a pleasure to see this amazing guy get his ride or die.

As per usually and one my favorite things about this author she keeps you guessing through the whole book wondering where this story is going to go. Finn and Julia are fire and ice from the start, with the chemistry between them coming off the page. Has you rooting for them from the start, and makes you truly believe in HEA.

If you haven’t read the nine books that come before Chasing the Storm do yourself a favor and do it. Brittney Sahin has done a wonderful job of delivering ten very unique story’s for you to enjoy. Not a single one will disappoint you, and by the end you’ll think of this group of men like family.

This is Julia and Finn's story she's one of the wealthiest women in the world, and since she began getting death threats her brother Michael Maddox hires Scott and Scott to protect her, Finn is the only one available and she's attracted to him so there's a reason to try and ditch him, because she needs to rescue her best friend that's in jail over seas and she knows he will tell her brother, he's been attracted to her since she lied about her name to take his self defense classes. I would recommend this book and series for mature readers only (sexual content) that enjoy reading stories that are a combination of being funny, steamy, suspenseful, and romantic.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

As per Brittney Sahin usual, she just keeps getting better and better. Each book she writes is a guaranteed "not gonna put it down till it's done." Chasing the Storm is no different.
Finn and Julia's story is sure to make you laugh; go "oh no she didn't say that;" yell at Finn to hurry up and "kiss the the girl; and at the same time beg for him to do what he again.
From New York to Egypt to Dubai; Julia is on a race against time to save a friend from execution. It just so happens that Finn is working not just as her bodyguard, but also for the government (as part of Echo team) on an assignment that aligns with Julia's goals. Bad memories to dust storms are all things that they and Echo team must face.
As the final book in the Stealth Ops: Echo Team series its a must read.

What an incredible way to end the Echo Team's storyline of the Stealth Ops series. I found it exciting from cover to cover. Brittney Sahin includes enough twists and turns to keep you guessing, enough fast paced action to keep you gasping and two main characters who you will root for the entire book. Julia and Finn both have some pretty heavy baggage to get past before they can truly move on with their lives. She's determined to do whatever it takes to save a friend. He's determined to protect her even if it's from herself.

My brain is still trying to process this amazing book! Honestly, I didn't think she could surpass Chasing Daylight. I mean it was AJ! Then she writes Chasing Fortune and it's like what just happened?? Then let's turn it up even hotter with Roman and Harper's story! Add in some extra players and you have a masterpiece. Wait though..let's throw a storm at you. This book is incredible. It has it all. Intrigue, love, suspense, more love, and the best ending anyone could ask for!! Brittney Sahin your writing gets better and better with every book. You are a rock star writer. Your ability to weave a story that not only holds your attention, but totally switches what you thought was going on is unparalleled. You created a world where your readers are invested in it. Well done, and fantastic references to the 80s by the way!!

Captivating! Every time I read one of Brittney Sahin’s books I fall in love all over again! Downright awesome! Characters are well built, funny, loving, thoughtful! You can’t help but get caught up in their lives as though they are real people and not fictional! I find it amazing how I talk to my husband about the characters and he actually knows who I’m talking about! Finn and Julia are amazing together! Just an amazing job done yet again by Ms. Superstar Brittney! Bravo and Encore Encore Encore! Brittney never lets her readers down!! Never disappoints!! Keep up the excellent work!

You wouldn’t think it could get better but each book Brittney writes is better than the last. Linking the stealth ops series and the hidden truth series with the story of Finn and Julia means that a number of known characters from other books are included.

Such an enjoyable read with great lines, brilliant movie references and an awesome epilogue which hints at what’s to come. I LOVED this book and am already counting down for the next one to come out.

After Chasing Shadows, I wasn’t sure Sahin could top her last work, but she definitely proved me wrong!! This book was the perfect mix of old and new, without distracting a bit from Finn and Julia’s story. Amazing characters, riveting story and so much excitement for what’s to come (without a cliffhanger ending).
Congrats, Brittney Sahin- I think this is your very best yet!!!!

The only way to describe the chemistry between Finn and Julia is literally a storm. Ups downs all arounds even a two step along the way. Fierce protective witty and haunted they both have secrets and ghosts of the past however with Echo as family as well as Bravo these two seem to manage every weather related disaster (sand sun rain you name it ) this sweet reads brings so many story characters together from previous reads it’s like opening a gift. Buckle up for this HAIL MARY of a read.

I swear I prolonged finishing the epilogue because I didn’t want it to end. This book, this SERIES, is amazing!!! I’m glad to hear that we’ll see Bravo and Echo again….but, in the words of the great poet, “parting is such sweet sorrow”
Finn and Julia….goodness after R&H, I didn’t think I could love a hero and heroine anymore than I already did, but as always Brittney Sahin, you surprise us all. This book was thought provoking with the usual laughter, plot twists, and romance, with some amazing movie references thrown in!!(umm, hello, where my 80s babies at?!!)
The way we still get a glimpse of all our other fav characters storylines in each and every book is a testament to Brittney’s story crafting. Can’t wait to see which story we see next!
Bravo lady….BRAVO!!! ❤️❤️

Sad to See the Last One for Echo Team But OMG It’s Soooo Good!
Brittney Sahin’s Stealth Ops series is - hands down - one of my all-time favorite series. I could easily read and reread every single title over and over and never tire of it. I’ve been a bit torn about the release of “Chasing the Storm.” On one hand, I was extremely excited to read Finn’s story because he has entertained me from the very first time we were introduced to him in the series, and the fact that his heroine was slated to be my favorite female character from another Sahin series put a little more boogie in my happy dance. On the other hand, Finn is the last member of Echo Team to get his story, so I’m a little sad about that at the same time. Dalton “Finn” Finnegan is Echo 5, an honorable, loyal, sexy AF SEAL who would do anything to protect someone he loves. Julia Maddox is a bada$$ - confident, beautiful, and committed to doing her part to better the lives of veterans. Both the hero and heroine have baggage, and Julia is working against the clock to help a friend, but their attraction is so very strong that it leaps from the pages. Sahin has created this amazing world that readers are easily sucked into - one where we are treated to action and suspense right along with those tender “aww” moments and super-sexy bits - and she lovingly crafts these characters and weaves them throughout the series so that we are completely invested in their HEA by the time they get one! So, so much love for this fantastic tale. Another 20-star read (just pretend you can see the rest of them) from Brittney Sahin. Laughs, tears, and everything in between…

Brittney has written yet another action packed suspenseful romance that will keep you turning the pages trying to figure out what is going to happen next!
I feel like one of the staples on Brittney’s stories is family, and not just the bonds of blood. This one is no exception. So many of the characters in the book have been introduced in previous books so it was fun seeing everyone working together.
Julia and Finn’s story is full of heartache and emotion. 36% in and she was bringing tears to my eyes and breaking my heart. Throughout the story not only are Julia and Finn on their own separate ops, after the bad guys, but they’re on their own emotional journey of healing as well.
Brittany does such an amazing job with her details, character development, and over all story arc that the questions you have along the way get answered.
The tone that she sets throughout the story has it playing through my head like a movie. Now that I’ve finished reading it I have to remind myself that I read a book and didn’t watch a movie!
Another great book by the one and only Brittney Sahin!
If you love military type romance with suspense you will love this.

I can’t say it enough… I LOVE THE STEALTH OPS MEN!!! Brittney Sahin is such a talented author. The stories she weaves are so incredible. I was hesitant to read Chasing the Storm, Finn and Julia’s story, because I knew it was the end of a series and I, plain and simple, wasn’t ready for that. From the first book in the series when you get a first taste of the guys with Luke and Eva’s story, you’ll fall more and more in love with the Echo & Bravo Team members and the women that win their love, loyalty, and friendship. Each story is so uniquely different, but Brittney writes in such a way that they all compliment each other. I’m sure many fans of Ms. Sahin wish that not only the men were real, but the women were too. Each story is packed with humor, danger, heat, and HEA. These stories are PERFECTION! I loved Julia and Finn and the way their similarities made their story what it was. Their stubbornness and personal struggles not only ripped them apart but united them too. I can’t say enough good things about Brittney Sahin and these Stealth Ops men. BE STILL MY HEART> I’M IN LOVE 🥰

The Perfect Storm -5 starts

This is Finn's story, book 10 (the Final book from the Stealth Ops series)
Chading the Storm is an absolute whirlwind, Brittney has a way to grab you from the very beginning, the twist and turns keeping you on the edge until the very end. I swear this has been my line for every single book. "There is no way she can top this book"and here we are proving me wrong yet again. 🤭
I did not want this series to end. I would be perfectly happy having her write side stories about all 10 Team Guys and be perfectly happy. Lol

Finn had a demon I don't think I was prepared for, I love reading about what makes these guys who they are, based on their life experiences, getting to know Finn's life and experiences bring out a side of this sexy Alpha male I was not expecting (insert fan here) he puts his whole heart in everything and his character is the definition of protector, and doing what is best for the people he cares about. His teammates confide in him and have no problem opening up to him and spilling their secrets to him. He is a kind and genuine man.

Julia is another kick a$$ female that is a heat female lead and brings out the softer side of the Stealth Ops guys. Julia can hang and throw jokes with the rest of the guys and she definitely gives you all the good feels. Like Finn she has a fierce protective side and cares deeply about the people she loves, and like Finn she has an inward battle that shapes her into the person she is.

Brittney does not fail in keeping the actions, adventure, and of course the mystery of the story. This was an epic adventure. These books will keep me coming back again and again.

This book is yet another fabulous and amazing story in the Stealth Ops series. I’ve loved each book and the characters who have become more like friends I get to visit occasionally to catch-up with than just fictional characters.

Dalton ‘Finn’ Finnegan the last single guy among Bravo and Echo teams and Julia Maddox are delightful together. Finn is tasked with being her bodyguard when he draws the short straw among his team after her brother (Michael Maddox) called in a favor to Luke Scott and requested she be protected due to her receiving death threats. Julia has spent the last two weeks trying to push Finn away as he guarded her by being super mean to him. She wanted him no longer shadowing her so she could pursue her goal in saving a friend without her brother finding out the lengths she’s willing to go.

Finn and his team are ready to spin up for a mission, so he stops by Julia’s condo to handoff guard duties to someone else when he learns she’s on her way to Egypt too. She ends up catching a ride with Echo team as they head to the Middle East. What started off as a bodyguard assignment for Finn turns into a situation where the team’s mission seems to be running parallel to her mission to save a friend and serious danger is ahead.

Julia no longer tries to push Finn away, and as their situation changes they both discover they have more than a physical attraction to each other, they’ve actually developed strong feelings. Both Finn and Julia have faced heartbreak in their past due to a loved one’s death and have developed coping skills that have protected them from further pain, but those past tactics aren’t preventing either them from the emotional connection developing between them. Both worry about getting hurt or hurting the other.

The action, drama, and suspense in this book are well balanced and very compelling which kept me glued to the page. While this book is written with enough background story included it could be read as a standalone story, I HIGHLY recommend it be read in order of release so you can fully enjoy the fantastic series and to avoid spoiling the storylines and romances in the previous books.

I purposely tried to slow down reading this book so I could just soak up the experience because I didn’t want it to be over to soon.

The mission involves all the Bravo and Echo team members and a some extra help from characters outside the teams who were introduced in previous books. Brittany reveals the direction of the series towards the end of this book and I’m so excited for what’s ahead! New recruits and new adventures!

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Regardless of the series or characters involved in the story, I love Brittney’s writing and can never get enough of her work or soon enough!
