Rich.
Entitled.
Possessive pain in my ass.
I know exactly what I don’t want.

I escaped to London under the cover of night, never thinking I'd run smack into a man who would turn me inside out.

I had a plan. Simple, really.

Step one: Follow my dream, away from from the demons of my past.
Step two: Land on my own two feet, preferably far, far, away from the man who hurt me and broke my heart.
Step three: Live a little and avoid all men with dark secrets.

So far, I'm not doing so hot.

He's a royal amongst peasants, and the last kind of trouble I need--a filthy rich alpha who can see straight into my soul. Our secrets hold us both captive.

Something tells me I’ll be powerless to stop his magnetic pull, especially when he tells me I'm going to be his, damn the consequences.

Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves of all things romance and adventure.

That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. Did I like it? I did. Why only 2 stars you ask?

Well:
*Abbi is very sweet; almost too sweet (I did like that she got a backbone - it takes a lot of courage to stand up to a bully); for me, a too sweet character is kinda boring
*It was slow at times and I started skimming towards the end - waiting for more to happen I guess
*I didn’t really buy into the love connection between the two main characters; she’s beautiful; he’s beautiful and after they meet they can’t stop thinking about each other. She’s trying to steer clear of men as she doesn’t trust her judgment and he’s got deep dark secrets, of course (so typical)
*It ends in a cliffhanger and I personally HATE those (now I’m forced to decide whether I want to get the conclusion to this). Hmmm.....

HOLY SHHHHHHHHHH!!! Nana blew it out the park with this one! Ladies prepare yourself for the London Royals and OMG will they be having you break out in a sweat! This book is so sexually charged...there is so much tension that I almost choked on it's thickness...*cough cough* no pun intended.

Honestly Nana really delivered on a great story, London Royal is a fresh new look on the royal family, an extension to the ones we already know and love from the Winston Isle crew. These are the cousins to Sebastian, the King of the Winston Isle, but boy do Xander and Alexi make you smile and blush throughout this story.

One of the many things I loved about this book is that though it starts where " The Billionaire's secret" left off it's a total different take on what we normally get from Nana. This time we know that the man gets the girl but we get to go back in time and see how it happened. I loved the way the story of Alexi and Abena was written, Nana took her time to lay the foundation of their journey and she really builds up this beautiful chemistry between them.

Another thing I loved about the book was that it highlighted a very serious topic that Abena goes through and that it's something that a lot of women suffer through. I have a bigger appreciation that Nana decided to release the book in October because it coincides with bringing awareness on this very serious problem that a lot of young women face.

I can not wait for the next installment, because of course Nana left us on a freaking cliff hanger!!!

London Royal
By: Nana Malone

*REVIEW* 💋💋💋💋
Nana Malone is new to me, and I enjoyed reading this story. London Royal is a story of something bad actually leading to something much better. Abbie has been in a traumatic relationship and is now chasing her dreams in London. Lex has baggage of his own and secrets in his past. The chemistry between these two is instantaneously smoking hot and turbulent in a good way. Lex and Abbie are perfect together and balance each other out so well. Can they sever ties to the past and embrace a meaningful life instead? Lex and Abbie have a chance for something good, but it's a lesson in accepting that you do actually deserve this. It's easier said than done. This is a well written thoughtful story with all the feels. I liked the twists and turns and really wanted to know what happens next. Lex and Abbie are easy to love, and I was rooting for them. The ending is a cliffhanger, and I look forward to reading the next book.

This is Nana Malone at her best. I am fascinated by Alexi and Abby. Both have their own individual complicated stories. Abby (Abena) is going through some really serious issues and is trying to get her life together. Alexi (Lex) has his own different set of problems and is just trying to keep his head above water. Of course they met and how they thought they were going to handle things is history. I don’t do spoilers because it’s not fair to the author. Besides where’s the fun in that? You need to read the story and be as immersed in this book as I am. It’s sexy, smart, filled with drama, and all the feels you could want. It’s also deals with some very real issues that are very current in today’s society. As if that wasn’t enough there’s also the intrigue that keeps you on your toes and guessing. I can’t wait for the next book. I am a fan!

Contemporary Romance

First Person, dual-POV

This is book #1 of the London Royal duet and it has a major cliffhanger at the end. This is sort of a spin-off of the royals of Winston Isle (if you follow the author's work)

Look, when you met me, there were all kinds of things I didn't want. There were things I didn't even know I did want. One of them was you.

by Lex

Addictiveness: 4.5/5  This was a one-sitting read for me. A fun, sexy read that kept me going until the end. As addictive as pizza!!!

Character: hero 4/5, heroine 5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 4/5, real 5/5 Multidimensional characters with interesting layers to them, they were all very easy to connect.

Lex is a good hero, the tall, dark and dangerous type. Even after finishing the first book, I still find him kind of a mystery. He keeps his darkness hidden, but is always there in the surface. He is an amazing brother, a great friend and seems like is going to be a good boyfriend. He has too many secrets and I guess he is waiting too much for sharing them with Abbie and it probably will backfire.

Abbie is an amazing heroine. From almost the beginning of the book, she starts her journey into self-knowledge and is beautiful to follow. She is brave, strong and a really good person. She was stagnant in a situation, afraid of letting go, but she finds courage inside her self and get away from it. Now, she is restarting like a phoenix and she is being smartly cautious about it. She never planned for the chemistry she has with Lex, but she is learning to go with the flow.

Xander is a secondary character that feels very important. He is almost a third leg creating a sort of triad. He is Lex's brother and Abbie's professor. He is also mysterious, dangerous and sexy as hell.

The fact that I've been following the author's royal series helps adds to my enjoyment of this story. Some characters I've read about before and I love the connecting the dots game.

Villains.. antagonists… This is another good mystery of this book, there is more than one force for them to fight here. We don't have all the cards on the table yet, so we need to wait for the second book to name them all.

All characters were easy love, connect and understand. !!!

Cover: art 4/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5  I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. I like this cover but I don't love it. Is just a bit too generic for me. I don't see anything very distinctive that I could say is definitely part of this book only. I love the title, the colors and font used. I also like the embellishment creating a frame for the art. I would probably buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb, just because of the author's name!

Plot: believable 5/5, conflict 4/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 3/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 5/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 5/5, twists 5/5  Exciting opening for a huge cliffhanger at the end. A very believable plot, specially with the heroine bringing awareness to some very important and real problems. Good subplots with unexpected twist. Wow! I was expecting something, and something totally different happened. Great dialogues in a fun, fast-paced plot. The conflict felt a bit convoluted and I guess I need the second book to make it cleaner. Good setting and highly enjoyable story that kept me curious until the end. High level of enjoyment!

Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 4/5, steam 4/5  This was a slow burn romance that grew in good pace. Their attraction to each other was undeniable from the moment they met. Even though the author threw a third member there to sometimes confuse the reader, it was obvious who was the heroine's choice. I love how it started from the present and it went back to show us their love journey. It ended up being poignant and cute at the same time it was sexy and hot! Passionate love!

Writing Style: 4.5/5  The plot was fun, refreshing and interesting. The characters are all very easy to love and interesting enough to keep the reader guessing. The romance was sweet and sexy. The dialogues and descriptions of the scenes were fun and hot. The writing was good with a conflict still needing to become cleaner in the second book.  Crafty writing!!!

Freshness: 3.5/5 It's ok. To make contemporary romance creative is really difficult, specially a royal romance. I think the smartest move that Ms. Malone did here was starting from present and going back to the past to tell the story. If gave a unique vibe to the book!  As fresh as mint tea!

I've loved how Ms. Malone started from the present and went back into the past to show us their past, how they met and what they felt for each other. If you follow the author's royal books, you will be pleasantly gifted with the backstory of characters that we have seen before.

Even when I know it is coming, that is even needed, I will never enjoy a cliffhanger. This cliffhanger is a KILLER. Really, it ends out of nowhere. Now I can't wait for the next book!!!

This is the journey of a great love story!!!

Good. Now go do your worst. And by worst, I mean better than your best.

by Xander

29.5/35 STARS –  4 STARS (between 28 stars and 31 stars)

Addictiveness: 4.5 Character: 4.5 Cover: 4 Freshness: 3.5 Plot: 4 Romance: 4.5 Writing Style: 4.5

Action 3/5 Angst 3/5 Darkness 1/5 Humor 2/5 Romance 5/5 Suspense/Mystery 4/5

Would I recommend? Definitely! For everybody that enjoys romance with a bit of suspense.

Would I re-read this book/series? Yes! I would reread the book and I will follow the series.

Would I read more from the author? I love her books and I always add them all to my TBR.

You MAY read this because you follow the series you SHOULD read this because you enjoy royal romance; you MUST read this for a great love story!!!

Because there was something about her that read damaged. Like me. Broken, like a bird.

Gah! Nana Malone has done it again. She has brought readers back to the world of the Winston Isles crew, but with a twist. There's always a twist. The very telling of this story with Lex and Abbie was a twist, but that's just one of the things I love about Nana Malone's writing. Even when she's writing about the same group of characters just focusing on different couple, I still can feel like it's a fresh and unique story.

Once again I fell in love with the main characters and also got a little insight to some secondary characters I might love to see get their own book in future.

This book had some very serious themes involved like abuse and some other traumas that I'm sure we'll learn more about in book two. But I just loved the way that these issues were handled, with delicacy and importance to who the characters are and/or who they want to become.

This book ended the same way book one of all of the duets have been ending lately. With my jaw on the floor and me desperate for book two. I can only be happy the release date is only a month away and hope this time flies. Even with the wait though, this book is a must read.

This is book one of a new duet and I loved it. Things get off to a entertaining and emotional start as the well written story starts to unfold. I thought Abby and Lex were likable, complex characters. My heart bled for Abby and I am rooting super hard for this couple to get their HEA. As both these characters have emotional baggage, you know they have a bumpy road to travel. Drama, secrets, tension, suspense, danger, emotional turmoil and an intense attraction keep things interesting and hold your attention really well. Can't wait for book two. Of my own accord I am posting a sincere review.

Emotional and learning to not let people take your dreams from you.

First, Abbie is a survivor for going through all of that with ex. It really takes courage and that little bit of rage to see that you need to leave and they aren't good enough for YOU.

We know that Lex has a an very traumatic and dark past, especially since it's still effecting him and his brother all these years later. We haven't gotten to what is causing the nightmares, but we definitely know that it was painfully and that his father didn't help when they asked for it.

There is a cliffhanger, so we'll see who this person is and why they are going about that last scene they way they do.

I did fins it a little strange for her to a month into knowing Lex to that approachable with him and his advances. I would have expected a few more months to feel comfortable around men that show that kind of interest, but this is fiction so...

I am very glad that Lex, once he found out everything, asked for consent and reassurance for his sexual actions.

I'm now just stuck on who could have wanted to do this to her. Besides the obvious. I mean, I guess the father could for what happened at their last meet up. Guess we'll find out soon enough. Check you all out in the next book.

New beginnings!

Abena Nartey has finally escaped from her abusive ex and decided to.follow her dream to learn photography. Joining some friends in London, she finds herself faced with a new obsession in the form of Alexi Chase! The attraction between them is fast and hot and although both are running from their pasts they can't help but listen to the pull bringing them together! This book was a dream of a read and Nana has created characters you can't help but fall in love with! And the cliffhanger?? Argh!!

Abbie's running from an abusive past. Alexi's got his own past and demons from that past. The two keep running into each other as if fate wants them to see each other, to be involved with each other. Will they let fate have its way?

I always talk about how much I love Nana Malone's royal world, and London Royal is a great addition to that world. Abbie and Lexi are a fabulous couple and I love how this first part to their story weaved from the past to the present, but never in a murky or confusing way. And lest I forget, London Royal is HOT! And suspenseful and mysterious and intriguing. And I have to know now what will happen to Abbie and Lex, NOW! Unfortunately, I have to wait until sometime in November to find out. So for now I'll just have to be content knowing that answers are coming soon.

OMG, London Royal is very much the first book of a duet.

Blossoming romance that is still very much in the beginning stages at the book's end? Check.

Major secrets that are still secret at the end of the book? Check.

Vague, threatening feelings throughout the book? Check.

MASSIVELY HUGE CLIFFHANGER AT THE END? CHECK.

Trust me, book two ( London Soul ) cannot possibly come out fast enough! We get just enough of Abbie and Lex here to be completely invested in their characters, 100% cheering on their romance (all while chiding Lex for not telling her who he is, of course) and all but dying to know what all of Lex's secrets are--not to mention wanting to find out how they both got to the prologue of the book, and what the things revealed there are going to mean for their future--to make us go completely crazy for the release of the other part of their story.

Well played, Ms Malone, well played. I see what you did there. :)

Enticing storyline that sucks you in! After finally following her dreams in addition to getting out of a difficult relationship, Abby embarks to London to start living life how she wants to by attending a prestigious photography program. Lex has had a complicated childhood and is really just trying to keep himself going at this point without any more hiccups. When the pair meet, the chemistry is explosive, but fate has another plan in store because every time they get somewhat close something tears them apart. Overall, this book is essentially detailing the relationship between Lex and Abby, as the beginning of the book starts five years in the future and the bulk of it being in the past. But the ending of this book takes the cake with the cliffhanger that Nana leaves us with - and so many questions along with it! I really enjoyed the character of Abby and her ability to finally get herself out of her situation and also not rely on anyone else but herself. But in the end, this book left me with so many unanswered questions that I can’t wait to find answers to in the next book!

Wow, what a great start to the London Royal Duet. Lex and Abby both have their tragic pasts they are trying to move on from. They are done feeling trapped and helpless and are determined to live their lives on their own terms, never to be dependent and vulnerable again. Lex and Abby keep running into each other and sparks fly! But the truths they both keep secret, make them keep their distance. They try to be 'just' friends, but their explosive chemistry makes it near impossible. There are several complications and plot twists in this fast paced story that kept me captivated and wondering what will happen next. I love the witty banter, the strength and resilience of both Lex and Abby, and the intriguing storyline. The ending left me stunned and I can't wait for the next book in this duet!

London Royal by Nana Malone. Imagine my surprise w n.y when I found out that the couple was none other than Alexi and Abena from London Bound. I didn't make the connection until recently. Nana did her thing I love this couple.
This book is awesome. What more can I say Alexi is the man even though he had many issue to deal with he found that he could not stay away from Abbie. After Abbue ran away from home and a abusive ex boyfriend to go to school in London it was the best thing that happen to her. The book immersed me in to the London culture, made me feel like I was there with them. Loving how the both of them was finding real love for the first time as well as themselves. The sex scenes were so Hot and Tender all at t hff e same time. What I would call a Slow Burn. Love it. Looking forward to what comes next.

CLASSIC Nana Malone! This one had all the things I've come to expect from this author and she does NOT disappoint! Intrigue, suspense, chemistry for days between these two, it may be slow burn for some but these two steam up the Kindle for sure before the first touch. So many secrets and layers of deceptions and omissions to unravel. Abbie touched me on a deeper level, her personal journey very similar to my own path so it struck some cords in me. Lex has the potential to hold her heart or break it, and the truths he is keeping from her might well be their undoing. Her ex has the makings of a textbook villain and I will be waiting with baited breath for this conclusion! Not just for Lex and Abbie, but for the bigger picture as well.

London Royal has everything we have come to expect from Nana Malone and these royals, suspense and intrigue that will keep the pages turning and characters with off the chart chemistry!
I love Abbie and Lex. Initially fate keeps throwing them in each other’s paths but the pull they have towards each other overpowers everything else.
They each have their own secrets to keep and it is just a matter of time before everything unravels. Abbie has the crazy, dangerous ex she is trying to get away from so she can follow her dreams and Lex has his past he is trying to keep hidden and a friend in the present he is trying to protect. As much as they want to escape their secrets they have a way of surfacing when they least expect them to. Hang on because their story is not over!

London Royal is book 1 in this 2 part story. This book has it all! Amazing characters, fabulous writing, edge of your seat drama and some serious off the charts chemistry!

I love Abby and Lex! They were both such amazing characters and my heart broke for everything that the two were going through, especially Abby. Whoooooo! You know I'll never NOT read a Nana Malone book, especially if it has any ties whatsoever to the Winston Isles royal family. I adore this world, these characters, and while this is a new formula for this Alpha royal to get his feisty girl, it's just as enjoyable to read and just as steamy!

Lex and Abbie are dealing with similar life issues, trying to avoid one another and the intense chemistry between them. As you can guess, this only makes the universe work a bit harder to get them together and when it happens... fireworks, my friends!

If you're not enjoying this world yet, I'd suggest you get started!

This is Part 1 in the story of Alexi (Lex) & Abena (Abbie).  It's a great start to their story.  Alexi holds a number of secrets which he has yet to reveal to Abbie.  Abbie has told him her secrets of an abusive relationship.  She is an emotional mess, and so is Alexi.  They each have to endure things just to get to a halfway decent place in their relationship.  There is a cliffhanger at the end.  I can't wait for the second part of this duet to come out so I can find out what happens.  It is very well written and easy to follow.  I love Nana Malone's writing of all the Royals.

We are back to where all the royal Winston Isle adventures began. Even if you are familiar with Abbie & Lex’s original story then you are still in for a treat. I won’t spoil anything, but I will say there is more than information that just further adds to the story. I will admit I was a little anxious& in my feelings at first, but as I continued to read it is still the great story that I remembered. If anything, it put more things into perspective. I am looking forward to seeing how the story continues in Book 2.

Wonderful well-written storyline with great characters both main and secondary.  The main characters are developed, flawed,  working on their issues and had instant attraction to one another.   Trying to fight their feelings is not working, but truths are being withheld and danger lurks.  This book ends on a cliffhanger and I truly hope the next in the series comes soon.   I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

London Royal (London Royal #1) by: Nana Malone

Caught in a world that's spinning out of control, two strangers risk everything and fall in love. London Royal is the best of Nana Malone. Abbie and Lex write their own fairytale. In the dark moments, they find strength. In the lighter moments, they find hope. In every moment in between they capture your heart.

Such a fun intro into Nana Malone and now I’m like GIMME EVERYTHING SHE HAS EVER WRITTEN RIGHT NOW. Loved the cliffhanger and I can’t wait to start the second book. Great dialogue, super hot romance scenes, lovely relationship and character building. Trigger warning for physical abuse. Overall, a great book!
