This is the sequel to "In the Shadow of Satan", the author's life in America after his escape from Soviet dominated Poland. There are riveting vignettes of his struggle to free his parents, his fight with trial lawyers as he builds his neurological sugery practice and poignant stories of his patients, some humorous and some sad.
When the author sticks to the facts about his life and work and writes about his own personal experiences, the book is very interesting but the author's extreme political views intrude. The author's earlier book In the Shadow of Satan was, in my opinion, a much better book. That book was set in in Europe during WWII and the Soviet occupation. However, this story is about how the author came to live in the U.S. The author brought with him all the bias and prejudice that I imagine existed in my grandparents' day. He sees communists everywhere he looks.
