I knew I was going to love this couple when they were hinted at back in book 3. Obrecht and Selena were set up as a forced proximity and neighbors situation when Selena was in the middle of her divorce from her abusive husband. She is given shelter in on of the buildings the Ivanovs own and since Obrecht lives there too, he is keeping an eye on her.
In Savage Tracker, we find out just what kind of abusive relationship Selena was in and how deeply it isolated and effected her. In her budding relationship with Obrecht she finds freedom and acceptance and lots of steamy times.
But in my opinion, and what really pushed me over the edge for this book, was the intimate discussions and talks they had. They do both share some proclivities in the bedroom, but Selena has never been in a healthy relationship, and the damage that has been done to how she views her self worth and her dignity are shocking... my gut would clench and my heart would burn. I would feel the rage Obrecht tried to hide when he got a peak into the life she had been living for so long.
Selena is such a precious woman and he doesn't want to break her, in fact, she's already so broken, how does he help her put herself back together again? Can he? Is he going to stick around to make it worth it?
I mean, of course he is, because HEA is guaranteed, but still I felt his frustration with what has been done to this woman. And his compassion and determination to help her regain her confidence and self worth is so beautiful.
The BDSM dynamic in this book is so beautiful. As I said, it made me squirm sometimes. In both excitement and sadness as this couple works through some very tough issues, but it gave me so much hope and I cried multiple times watching these two come together (pun intended) and find joy in this new, healthy dynamic together.
This is one of my favorite books of the year, hands down.
Bravo to the author for telling this story and not backing down. Someone out there may need this or will at least feel as deeply moved as I was.

July 17, 2022I think the fact that I was feeling anxious for the past couple of days affected my reading experience for this.
I read the other books in the series within a day but this one took me the longest to read, when I know it shouldn’t have, because I’ve been loving this series.
This book explores BDSM heavily. Our heroine was in an extremely abusive marriage for years, where BDSM was used in the most sadistic way imaginable.
Thankfully, she escapes it but the remnants of that marriage still haunt her. There are parts of that lifestyle she still very much craves and she questions why that is the case.
Our hero was the perfect counterpart for her since he is involved in the BDSM lifestyle. He very much helps the heroine understand the lifestyle better and is so patient and understanding and answers all her questions and encourages it, when she’d previously had been stifled.
Alongside that, our heroine does attend therapy that is very specific to her needs and I love that that was incorporated. I wish we got to see more of that, I needed more of that. I don’t know whether her character arc was as well rounded as it could’ve been.
I also wanted more of the hero’s background and his previously damaging relationship and how he got to be as good as he is when it came to his career.
The plot is still very much solid and I’m really looking forward to continuing on with the series. I just wish this clicked better.

Simply Fantastic!
Sergey has a competitor for my affections with Obrecht! 😍🔥😍 I love these dominant, possessive, protective men who dish out their own brand of justice.
Selena is dealing with the trauma from her marriage to Jack and Obrecht, who is quickly taken by her, pulls out all the stops to try to help her. Even when he makes mistakes, it is so sweet - not always tender, but definitely sweet.
I really liked the pace of the book. I also love how Selena learns to stand up for herself in various situations.
Another thing that makes this an awesome read are the other relationships. There's terrific banter between current, former, and future main characters. Some is very tense and conflict ridden but some is just hilarious. Such as,
I was busting up laughing. There's a little more context that you may need to have the same appreciation, I know, but I love how Liam gets all touchy about Hailee being teased by her friends about her "furry --" (read the book if you want to fill in the blank). More than that, I love to see these relationships interact as they grow.
I'm sad to see Obrecht and Selena slide out of the spotlight but I am looking forward to Liam and Hailee's story as we shift to the O'Malley clan in the next book of the series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Savage Tracker is the book that I have been the MOST excited for!! This one has been so recommended and just so hyped that while I was nervous to jump into this one I was also very excited. I was really looking forward to this one because it has a “BDSM as healing” theme and I love this theme and I don’t see it enough in books and if it has BDSM then I want to see this aspect in it more. I was so impressed with this book. This story was magnificent and I was completely drawn into the story from the first page. I just wanted so much for these two to find their way together and my emotions were all over the place with this one here. And it was very obvious that Maggie Cole had done her research on this one, especially with what surrounds the BDSM community and culture. Our heroine has been abused by her husband in a nonconsensual “Master/Slave” relationship. She has now divorced her husband when she meets Obrecht who helps her replace her faucet. Sienna has a need that she needs to fulfill but is scared to do it at the same time. When she meets Obrecht at a sex club, their relationship turns into something deeper as they explore the safe side to the BDSM world, and Obrecht is dominant but determined to show Sienna the beautiful side to being in a BDSM relationship and that abuse is not what it is about.
As you see our heroine go through this journey of self-discovery, you see such intimacy grow between them. There is a level of sweetness that is captivating and I was cheering these two on all the way through their relationship!! I really enjoyed seeing where the plot is built up and poor poor Liam…..his friends are just not understanding him so I will be jumping straight into his book next. I was really intrigued by the growth of the romance, and the world-building, and Maggie Cole has become a favorite Mafia author. I really adored the way that these two just immediately captivated me and seeing them on this journey of what was right for them and the BDSM scenes were on point a very well blend of spice and heart. I highly recommend this one if BDSM as healing is your catnip as it is mine.

I've been following this series from the beginning. All stand alone so can be read on its own but it's best to start from the beginning to get to know who is who and from which family they belong.

reread #1 I did notice that some dialogues sounded a bit cringe this time around. Also this isnt the most revolutionary bdsm read (but to be fair it was one of the first book that i read which handled it well enough) but its definitely still a five star read. I would recommend reading this series in order though because their is some serious mafia plot running in the background

This is one of the best books I’ve read so far. I have often been disappointed at how the concept of bdsm practice is trivialised in many books but this book is finally something that discussed it as it should have been. For someone who had confusions about liking things that their abuser introduced them to, I was really glad with the discussions that happened in this book.

This book is one you do not want to miss! This is Obrecht and Selena's story and it is intense.
Selena has an ex-husband that wont let her go and she meets Obrecht at a time where she is lost and trying to find herself again. Through the book you get to see Selena grow and you want her to have the HEA.
Obrecht sees her and falls for her but at first he denies himself to be all alpha male with her, thinking she would not understand or like what he wants in the bedroom.
When these two connect it is hot, steamy, and you will want a cold shower afterwards.
Always with Maggie Cole's books you will always get glimpses from the other books in the series, but this one had more of Liam O'Malley in it and it was so great to have more of Liam. I really did not like how Obrecht always acted towards Liam but that is what keeps you hooked for the next book to come out.
If you haven't started Mafia Wars yet....you need to and you will not be disappointed!!

There is no way, after she’s been tortured and kept in a cage for ten years, that she would crave bdsm!!!
The really frustrating thing about this book, is that if you ignore how she was treat for ten years, it would be a lot better.
Selena is divorcing her husband, and lives in the same apartments as Obrecht. Selina’s ex husband, tortured and mistreated her, and when she needed punishing, he locked her in a dog cage.
So when Selena meets Obrecht, and instantly starts fantasising about him ordering her to kneel before him, it’s TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE!!! And so annoying! It goes on and on for pages, her fantasising about him controlling her!!!! And don’t get me started on him doing the same!!! It’s never ending! So boring!!! When Selena thinks that she can’t have him, she goes to a sex club!!! 😡😡😡😡 Yeah of course such an abused woman would do that!!!! Obrecht finds out and goes to the club. Takes her home and has sex with her. He then feels guilty as she’s obviously really vulnerable. Do you think????? It didn’t stop him having sex with her!!!
Moving on…. (Before I throw my kindle!)
So of course they start dating, and Jack (her ex husband.) is still trying to find her. So she has protection at all times. Jack’s men that he employs to find her, are all picked up and taken to the garage. Obrecht has a good friend who is a counsellor, who starts to treat Selena. At a cafe!!!! Yes you did read that correctly!! A woman so badly mistreated that she has major panic attacks and struggles with life, is seeing a therapist in a coffee shop….. okay deep breaths.. before I lose it. The woman is an expert in bdsm and is helping her in the coffee shop. Omg!!!! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry! It’s so pathetic!!!
Moving on again….. When you get past the stupid storyline, the really bad punctuation, spelling mistakes and (pre-requisite for this author.) totally unbelievable scenarios, it’s actually a good book. That’s why it’s such a shame.
This book was it for me. I gave up on the series totally, as I couldn’t cope with it.
I may sound way over the top. But as someone who has struggled with mental health problems, most of my life. I found it infuriating how she minimises it. Like it’s a cold that you get over!

Maggie Cole’s books just keep getting better and better in this series! I didn’t know if Adrian’s story would be topped (pun intended) I was wrong! Selena and Obrecht’s story is without a doubt one of my new favorites. I also think I found my new favorite heroine, Selena is a fighter and she has definitely met her match when it comes to Obrecht.
This books takes you on a journey of self discovery for both of the leads. Selena is learning what her life could be if she is given a chance and better circumstances. She has also found a group of strong women around her that encourage and support her. Obrecht is learning that love comes in many forms and so does being In control and when to give it up or when to take charge. It takes a while for Selena to realize what she wants in life but once she figures it out she cannot be stopped and Obrecht is there to support her through it all. Who knew a strong Russian man who takes no crap from anyone would allow himself to be so vulnerable and to let his guard down a bit just for her!
All of the men in the first 5 books of the Mafia Wars series are some of the strongest I have ever read but when it comes to their women they will do whatever they can to protect them but also fall at their feet because they have found the one person that completes them. These women are strong and can handle pretty much anything that comes their way with the right support system!
Maggie has done it again and when I say you don’t want to miss this series I mean it! It is page turning, steamy, sometimes heartbreaking, romantic and all together some of the best work I think she has written!

This is the 5th book in the Mafia Wars Series by Maggie Cole. And the final book about the Ivanovs. In this book we follow Obrecht and Selena.
This was another amazing book by Maggie Cole, and another great installment into this already incredible series. Right from the beginning, you are hooked. With everything that Selena goes through, you can tell that she’s such a strong character. She survived her ex. And Obrecht, had vowed to never have any serious relationship, because of his past, and his life. But he sees Selena.. and everything changed. This book has it all.. heart pounding action.. sweet romantic parts, and lots and lots of hot steamy scenes.. you’ll definitely need some cold water nearby with those. I definitely recommend this book, and this entire series.. it is one you won’t want to put down. Also want to add, there could be some triggers on this book for some.. with abuse, so keep that in mind. But seriously, this book was so good, and in dying for the next one!

This is by far my favorite of the Mafia War series. I am seriously in love with Obrecht. Selena was just a divorcee he was supposed to be keeping an eye on. Her ex husband did cruel, horrible things to her. Yet, some of the behaviors she still craves. Obrecht sees her and all he can think about is commanding her but he knows that she needs to be handled with delicate hands. He wants to dominate her and she wants to be dominated by him. They are drawn together like two magnets. The harder they try to fight it, the more they find themselves thrown together. She sees him as her salvation, he sees her as something he never knew he needed. As I was reading this book I was transported into their world. A world of seduction. A world where everything and anything is possible. A sexy world that will have you panting and wanting more. This series just keeps getting better and better.

5 stars is not enough!
Obrecht is the man we all need in our lives but just don't know it yet- believe me, you will once you read his story!
He goes from Caring and Passionate to dominating and powerful within minutes and is yet another Mafia man who emanates control, power and confidence, allowing his woman to be the best, most courageous version of herself!
Selenas story had me putting my kindle down because I was so emotionally committed and picking it up again seconds later because I just couldn't help myself!
I think I need to find myself an apartment with a rooftop gym and some Russian eye candy!

Annoying
I hate to say this but too much sex and not enough story line. What happened to the ex husband? At the end the story stated that she was is the cage a long time. The way I read it did not translate to that. I like a good sex scene as much as the next person but this story needed a lot more action

While Maksim is my favorite of the Ivanov boys I love Obrecht just as much. This is the love story between him and Selena. We met Selena in previous Mafia Story books and you knew she deserved better than her ex husband. Sergey without knowing it put the rest of her life into motion for her. Obrecht, like the rest of the Ivanov men, is so protective. Once he falls for you though you see the softer side reserved just for you. He’s hot, he’s sexy, and it was the perfect book to move onto the O’Malley Family. Any book series that can keep your attention for 5 books and make you crave book 6 is an award winning series. I loved the Ivanov’s and can’t wait until we dive deeper into the O’Malleys’. If you want sexy men with a thriller story then pick up Mafia Wars NOW!

So much better than I was hoping for.
Throughout Mafia Wars we have seen many of the same events along the timeline from the different characters, each book progressing that timeline. I felt like this stripped back some of the events and just gave us Obreight and Selena.
Both characters are trying to just get by and find themselves. The relationship progresses easily and shows how much these characters are truly in sync. Maggie Cole did an amazing job with this story making it believable, steamy, engaging while adding details for the future books.
Obreight had always seemed to be the calm face and voice of reason for the Ivanov men. Selena really throws a wrench at him and I enjoyed seeing him off his game.
Meanwhile Obreight gives Selena the unconditional affection to really grow and develop into her own self.
This story is amazing and provides a lot of information on the BDSM community. It's tactfully done but if you know that's not your thing and don't think you can read past it, you may want to skip this one.

Yet another outstanding book in the Mafia Wars series by Maggie Cole! Savage Tracker, book 5, delivers all the raw emotions from a non-consenting life to a world people only read about but never take the pleasure in experiencing. You get to feel the instant chemistry between Selena and Obrecht and see their journey from neighbors, to playmates, to full relationship. Along the way they both struggle with who they are and what they want, but with a little help they make it through the struggles. This savage tracker will not be stopped to protect with is his.

Easily one of my all time favorites not only in this series but by Maggie Cole and in general. I love the passion, the heat and the excitement. You won’t find a love story like this anywhere else! I have definitely found my next book boyfriend! Get the water ready ladies - you're gonna need it for all this spice!!

For those that are not familiar with this series, the stories should be read in order as they flow into each other, and they all are centered around some of the same drama just different POVs. Of course each new couple brings their own drama to the story, but the bad guy situation is a running course throughout the stories. It was no surprise that Selena and Obrecht hit it off, we did feel the vibes when Kora was on the roof with them. But with Selena's past relationship, Obrecht isn't sure how to approach, he knows that he doesn't want long term and that's not fair to Selena. Selena knows she wants Obrecht but after the way her ex-husband treated her, should she want him the way that she does? The two come together and its its like a house on fire! But is it too much too fast?
Wow, can I say that there may be a lot of stories in this series, but no two are alike! I feel like we get something different every time, and I love that fact! Selena and Obrecht's story was really good. There was one scene that wasn't for me, but that's just me. This has some really great naughty bits, and I loved that it seemed like the author was actually trying to teach through her writing about BDSM. I give this 4 stars, and I'm really excited for Liam's story now.

We have saved the best Ivanov for last AND my favourite character Obreacht & Adrian's mam Svetlana. She just makes me smile and she loves bridals magazines😆 I am happy she found some to love too
Now back to the loved birds Obrecht & Selena. Selena's story with touched on with Kora in Cruel Enforcer. But we see more what cruelty & abuse she was under by her ex husband Jack. He took her away from her home country, Greek Islands. Then her family turn their backs on her. She is truely alone and she got use to it in the 10 years she was with him.
Obrecht was a signed to watch over Selena & he is a brilliant tracker. He is a good man and this friendship with Selena develops into something more. He wants to help understand the BDSM world and what it truly means to he top & bottom. He asks his friend Carla to help Selena understand the world & have someone to talk to. She is a therapist & she helps alot of people the BDSM community that suffer from adsuse etc. He push her in the right direction to understand herself & to live again
Their story is a page turner because you want to know does she understand the world & help to move past vicious memories & nightmares. Obrecht is patient with her until she was ready. Their love story is steamy & their undying love is breathe taking especially when....no spoilers...
What Maggie did in this book was mean because, Obrecht & Selena are happy and I love then BANG !! The villains come in when they are happy and in love but don't worry he gets his girl back. BUT BUT BUT there is still a mystery around O’Malley's new money and how it links to TWAT Jack a.k.a Selena ex husband...
Yes the suspense killed in this one especially when it was certained around the wars in Chicago. Ivanov & O’Malley's are getting ready for it...
We also got little hints of Liam & Hailee 😍 yes I will admit Liam is my favourite 🥰
The last line of the book got me VERY EXCITED🍀Liam's story is coming!!

Maggie has done amazing job on narrators especially on this one. this book is very emotional read and they performed it BRILLIANTLY. Selena is confused on BDSM & Obrecht helps her understand what is wrong & correct. You can feel Selena's confusion & embarrassment on how she was so naive to may TWAT Jack. Feel Obrecht protective nature over her & BLOOD CURDLING ANGER towards Jack. Frustration over Liam telling him he can't kill him until the O'Malley's new money is in place. Wen & Kai you did beautiful job and your voice work together nicely. Both did good impressions on male & female voice for each other. FULL MARKS

I swear, each book in this series has gotten hotter and hotter and even more taboo! I feel like I need a cold shower after this one! Maggie Cole does the most fabulous world building in her stories. The stories are way more than the story between the male and female protagonist. It is a story of relationships. Relationships between “brothers”, family, and friends. Lots of time is spent in character development discussing the how and why of each character and the way they are. It was just wonderful to see Selena grow as a character. From the abused wife with mixed feelings about her sexual needs to the becoming the confident woman comfortable in her own skin. Obrecht has his own issues to overcome, but always attempts to put Selena’s needs first. He’s sexy and domineering, but a protector first and he’ll do whatever he needs to keep Selena safe.

Selena and Obrecht meet as she’s staying in the same building as him, Obrecht is asked to keep an eye on her as she’s just come out of an abusive marriage and her ex husband is basically a psychopath.
I loved Selena she was such a fighter, after everything she went through with her ex husband and now on her own trying to find out who she is as her own person and what she wants in life, and of course want she wants from her relationship with Obrecht who also has past trauma, he’s been betrayed and doesn’t want to be in a committed relationship but he sees the connection between himself and Selena.
I loved how Obrecht helped Selena see that she should always have a choice and what has happened to her wasn’t her fault and that she’s way more deserving than what her ex has told her she is and what she sees herself as.
It was so beautiful to read their story, of them falling in love and the trust they have for each other after both of them being betrayed in the past made my heart fill with happiness✨

What’s a stronger word than sizzle…
…because whatever that word is, it describes Obrecht and Selena to perfection.
The next book in this amazing serious does not fail to disappoint, and in fact is even better than the last (so with still 5 books to go I can’t imagine where this series is heading but oh my goodness I’m down for anything!!)
Selena is so beautifully broken, loving a half life and not knowing or understanding what “normal” is after leaving her abusive husband and hiding away. She was such a strong character, taking the time to set her own limits, taking what she wanted and desperately trying to understand if her feelings were right or not. That part was desperately sad in a lot of places but the other side to that was how Obrecht helped her learn, taught her good vs bad and how she was the person only ever in control of herself and her needs. Soooo hot, this couple burn up the pages in and out of the bedroom, every interaction has some underlying heat and promise.
The dream sequence was amazingly written and I loved how Obrecht was so determined to make her good dreams come true. Her birthday sounds amazing ;)
A fabulous book which continues to move forward the underlying mafia battle theme but devoted the main part to the relationship between Obrecht and Selena. Always good to revisit the other characters in the series, I now can’t wait for Liam and Hailee’s story.

What a story! It will really get your blood pumping! Selena is younger and fragile after a decade of abuse by her ex husband and Obrecht doesn't do relationships after being betrayed by the woman he had wanted to marry. When they meet he badly wants to command her to kneel and she desperately wants him to. She shouldn't trust him but she does, he shouldn't go there but he does and when they realise their desires align, my oh my sparks fly! As always with Maggie Cole males, Obrecht is one sexy alpha. In fact he is so sizzlingly hot that I think I got third degree burns just reading about him! Sexy, Russian accent, protective and dominant yet loving and kind, what more could you ask for in a new book boyfriend? Some of the subject matter might be a bit risky and even upsetting for some, however the story and sexy scenes are hot nevertheless. Like his brother Adrian, he is sure to make your panties melt and you might just need to keep a glass of ice cold water beside you to douse those flames. Enjoy:)

This series just keeps getting better and better!! The chemistry between Selena and Obertcht is off the charts. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put this book down. Obertcht gives Selena the confidence she lost in her abusive marriage. It’s amazing how she evolves throughout the story. Obertcht gets the person that makes him believe in love again and that he deserves to be loved. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!!

Obrecht is Selena’s knight in blood stained armour. While she turns out to be a tough cookie, in the beginning she’s extremely vulnerable and brings out Obrecht’s protective and possessive side. In every way, he was exactly what she needed.

Savage Tracker is the fifth book in the Mafia Wars series. This is my favorite book of the series by far! Obrecht and Selena’s love story is the hottest and most intriguing I encountered during this series and I cannot get enough of it! I definitely recommend this series to anyone.

Delicious, Riveting and spell binding, I was frantically flipping through the pages. I’m STUNNED SPEECHLESS what a masterful written story. Savage Tracker was my UNDOING!!! This story was EVERYTHING!! Plus so MUCH more.
