Pirates aren’t supposed to get lovesick, but that’s what’s happened to Dread Pirate Captain Louis, master of the good ship Boattega. Unaware he’s already stolen the dread pirate's heart, Captain Montgomery Montgomery, ambitious head of the anti-piracy task force and woke af, is intent on reforming the sexy bad boy. What happens next includes a shocking lack of boundaries, inexperience in love, a bitey pet possum, mermaids that won't leave and then kind of do, and the promise of Spanish treasure untold. And pirate booty. A lot of pirate booty. And isn't that the REAL treasure?
this was a wild book made even wilder by the fact that i’m the sixth person to add it on goodreads. anyways, very enjoyable, funny, and horny. just like i like my pirate books. the characters were a riot and i actually really liked the endgame pairing (it was not at all what i was expecting). lots of fun plot, really a lot that happened in a short amount of pages. overall great relationships. the writing was a little too gen z for me at times. i know most people i know would hate how this was written but overall it worked fine for me. some of the jokes went way too far too but overall i liked them. just absolutely a riot of a time, a great way to spend a friday night!
This book is hilarious and full of queer pirates, what more do you need in life? I had the pleasure of proofreading this and believe me when I say I was laughing from the start. Jack’s unique style of writing and creative world building is mesmerising to say the least so let yourself get sucked into this laugh out loud tale of hunting for booty.
Hilarious, and absolutely not what I expected. Other than pirates, of course, and the admiralty and sexy mermaids and, well, booty. For the first couple of pages I was mainly thinking, “what the everloving am I reading”. A few pages later I’d got into the voice of the book and happily went, snorting and giggling (snortling?) wherever it sailed.
