I read Apollo Explorer, The Voke Empire and The Enemy Within in the box set of books (U-SAM Series 1-3). I'm not normally a fan of anything set in space but this series was recommended to me as a fast-paced, fun read and I thought I'd give it a go. I'm glad I did!
The series follows U-SAM and her comrades as they battle to outwit a space pirate who has them in her sights. In Apollo Explorer we see U-SAM (and a number of other prisoners) escape from the aforementioned space pirate just before they're sold off to work as slaves in one of the space mines. In The Voke Empire, U-SAM and the team get into a pickle with 'the voke', a superior race who are not what they seem to be. And in the Enemy Within, one of U-SAM's comrades betrays the team to the space pirate who originally kidnapped them.
I blew through this series within 24-hours because it's easy to read and, despite the subject matter, light-hearted. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I've copied this one review across all three of the books in the series.
