All of the books are delightful and you are so friggin' lucky to get them to binge on, one right after another. I am so Jelly.
Do not let this opportunity pass you by. Seriously.
This is an amazing series that I have loved from the very beginning and Book 1 Going Down On One Knee is Brek and Velma's story. This was an awesome read about Brek who has to come into town for a few reasons but ends up helping his sisters job as a wedding planner. He stays with Velma. who is a little uptight and has a 5 year plan so she doesn't even give him the time of day even though she is attracted to him because he doesn't check off the boxes she has set. These two have an instant attraction and the chemistry is off the charts. I loved the wedding planning side of things it was hilarious all the mishaps that happened and I kind of felt sorry for Brek for having to deal with all of it but in the end he did good. This was a cute and sweet read and Velma had some serious insecurities but time with Brek helped her slowly get over them. I fell in love with Brek and slowly learned that Velma wasn't too annoying with her plans but she had her reasons. I highly recommend. Book 2 Blow Me Away is Jase and Jade's story. I laughed so hard, so many times it was awesome. Jase, poor Jade had his issues but his family were the type to try and help him without his say. Yes they were overbearing and overwhelming but they did have good intentions. Heather, she had been burned many times before and had intentions of never going there again but Jade weaseled his way into her heart. Babushka made me laugh so hard. She was the heart and soul of this family and book. When babushka has a plan or goal she goes all out and it happens whether her family likes it or not. I honestly thought Brek was my man but Jade seriously gave him a run for his money. I liked getting to see Velma and Brek again and now we need Eli’s story. Book 3 Take It Off The Menu is Eli and Marlee's story. Every book in this series so far has been beyond amazing, and Eli’s story is just as great. I loved everything about this book I loved Marlee and her personality, attitude, strength, and heart. She was a caring girl who did come from money but she never really let that define her and she loved her friends deeply. This group of friends that Marlee had included Eli’s sister Sadie and they all had me laughing so hard and poor Eli was always there to take care of them and make sure they didn’t lend up in trouble. As usual a trip to Vegas doesn’t actually stay in Vegas so this is the start of things for Eli and Marlee. Eli was such a beautiful person inside and out he helped everyone around him, he would give anyone the shirt off his back I’d they needed it yet he pushed people away in fear of having to take care of them and make sure they didn’t lend up in trouble. As usual a trip to Vegas doesn’t actually stay in Vegas so this is the start of things for Eli and Marlee. Eli was such a beautiful person inside and out he helped everyone around him, he would give anyone the shirt off his back I’d they needed it yet he pushed people away in fear of having to take care of them and he didn't realize he was already doing that because he cared about his family and friends. These two together were insanely perfect because they balanced each other, Marlee being outgoing and Eli being kind of closed up. I also loved how we get to see the other characters from the previous books and my favorite as always is when the guys get together and hang up on the Hero at the time to show them they are being an idiot and need to get their head out of the sand 😉. I really hope this isn’t the last book in the series because it’s such a great one and the author makes you feel a part of their group, their families, and town. I can't wait for more from this series because each book has been amazing and hilariously romantic.
I added this book to my TBR as soon as I read the blurb. There is just something about opposites attract especially when one is a free-spirited Biker and the other is the uptight financial planner. This premise was perfect. I liked the slow build into discovering that love is more than just an algorithm. Velma/Velvet was definitely a work in progress that I enjoyed watching blossom and Brek., yeah that man was DELICIOUS.
Very fun summer read, not overtly over the top in the steamy moments with great characters.
Blow Me Away 4.5 stars
This book was even better than the first. There were moments of laughter and definitely a Carlton of swoon moments. I liked Jace in the first book but I fell in love with him in this book. I also adored Heather. Her interactions with Babushka were hilarious.
My only complaint about this book was I wanted to see how things turned out in regards to Babushka and the family. So many secondary characters need their story told too.
Take it Off the Menu 4.7 stars
This book was exactly what I needed to get out of the dry spell I had been having lately. It was flirty, fun, and heartfelt. I just recently discovered this author and have loved everything that I have read so far. This author has a knack for keeping the balance between funny and also sweet. The characters are always perfect. Not just for each other but just perfect in a normal sense. They have insecurities and fears like real everyday people do.
Has the accidental marriage in Vegas been done time and time again? Yes. Do they often blend in with each other? Yes. However, this one stuck with me. There was something about the characters have known each other all their lives and already having that established bond that helped. It made it more real and less surprising to have them believe in each other the way that they did. I loved that Eli was able to Marlee find her niche in life and that she was able to break him out of his shell.
Lots of laughs again with Babushka making an appearance (that lady really is a hoot) and a chance to see that true love prevails. I highly recommend this author and all of her books. She is one of my favorite discoveries in 2019. I cannot wait to see what is next in this series of standalones.
Who knew you could literally LOL and get hot and bothered in the span of a few pages? Christina has this amazing ability to bring you all of the emotions seamlessly in a way that is so natural you have no idea you’ve been binge reading for hours. She can write from a man’s point of view with such clarity it’s like we finally can see what goes on in their heads. The guys are a perfect match of hot clueless man and swoon worthy he’s your happily ever after. The ladies of Mile High Matched are so amazing you wish they were your BFF’s in real life. They may have moments of vulnerability but they are not wilting flowers. Chemistry is off the charts, there are as many laughs as there are oh my goodness moments. And Babushka is officially the coolest woman on the planet. Read them all, you’ll be glad you did!
These books are amazing! I'm not exaggerating when I say I snort my coffee reading them. This author nails the chemistry between the hero and heroines and keeps the pages turning. I can't decide which couple is my favorite. I think Brek is my favorite hero, because he's so badass, but they are all good. Babushka's escapades crack me up. She is so hysterical and the way she plays innocent while she knows damn well what she's doing is hilarious. Also, this is quality writing without typos and grammar errors. The work has clearly been professionally edited which I always appreciate! A great series! Look forward to this author's next book!
Loved the books and am excited to read more. It has been a long time since an author has made me laugh out loud. Will definitely be reading more of Christina Hovland
3 books of fun all in 1! Great funky cast of characters - Fun stories and pairings - Hilarious cringeworthy situations! Overall three fun reads! I can't wait for more!
