This is my memoir. In the 70s and 80s, I was a gay child raised mostly in the 10th circle of Hell, called Madisonville, Tennessee, where I was abused and neglected. I then went into the military for four years before Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Then, I lived as a gay man without role models, goals, or a direction. After that, I spent a long time as a caregiver to my mother. In my nomadic existence, I have moved 52 times throughout my life. With all that I’ve been through, I sometimes wonder how I never became a serial killer or some other monster, but I just can’t go there. Enjoy, if you can.
I am hoping that this book is only the first half of Rick's memoir because he has so much more life to live. The memoir is written in the form on a journal that flowed well. To say that the man has had a tough life so far would be an understatement. He's not asking for pity though. He simply stated facts.
