With both his sons now living their own lives, Lawson Hayes thought hooking up would become easier. But nothing involving his sex-life came easy for Lawson, not after his ex-wife distorted his fantasies into something sick and perverted and made him afraid to go after the fantasy he’d always dreamed of—to become someone’s Daddy—until he met Taylor.
Taylor Black had known a lot of Daddies but was still looking for his Mr. Right-Daddy. He’d done everything they asked of him, hoping they’d be able to heal the pain of his past, but none could prevent his dark thoughts from overtaking him—until he met Daddy Law.
When Lawson first set eyes on Taylor, he’d known the boy was special; he’d never seen anyone wear vulnerability the way Taylor did. Learning that Taylor had demons to battle, didn’t dampen his need for the boy; if anything, he wanted him even more, wanted to help him fight and conquer them.
Daddy Law is a dream come true for Taylor; he’s equal parts calm and loving, playful and flirty, and dominant and kinky. But does Taylor deserve to be happy after sparking the tragedy he blames himself for? Will his subconscious, self-sabotaging behavior become too much for Daddy Law to handle? And how will Lawson explain his new role as a Daddy to his sons, with whom, he’s always had an uneasy relationship?
Author Note: male/male romance, can be read as a standalone. Contains sexual acts between consenting adults—a boy who just needs someone to help him, and a Daddy willing to do anything to be that person.
Darla O'Malley had been writing male/male fiction and paranormal stories as a hobby for quite a few years, until encouragement from friends and family to become a published author had her finishing one of her many half-written novels. She's extremely happy she heeded their advice as having others read her creations has become an exhilarating experience.
Ok so the writing could use a little bit of touching up. The author has a habit of overusing exclamation marks which makes the writing appear a bit juvenile, however I honestly didn’t care because all 3 of these stories just completely sucked me in. I cared about all of the characters. I wanted to know more and more about this town and all these characters who live in it, and now I’m really sad that there seems to be no book 4. I need more of this world.
I adored Taylor in Dane and Noah’s story. I was so happy to see him in Duncan and Cam’s. But I was ecstatic to have him get his own. My heart hurt for both Taylor and Law. They really needed each other. I would have liked to know more about Ryan. I feel there is more to learn about him.
Lawson got his high school girlfriend pregnant and married her . Their marriage was reasonably happy until their two sons reached middle school. They were both curious about the things they missed by marrying early and are ready to try some kink. Most of the things they tried didn't really do anything for Law until they went to a kink club and he saw his first Daddy/Little boy pair. Law quickly learned that he was bi and a Daddy Dom but his wife was horrified by his interests. She called him perverted and a pedophile and made his life miserable. Finally he had had enough and paid her to go away and sign the divorce papers. She had made him feel so guilty about being seen as a pedophile that he even distance himself from his two sons. Law suffered with his guilt feelings until his son came out to him as gay. Law admired his confidence so much that he is trying to do his best to live the way he wants. When he goes to a gay bar, he sees a young man being taken advantage of and he just wants to step in. When the boy gets kicked out of the club, law goes to check on him. He knows that Taylor needs a daddy figure to comfort him and protect him. Taylor makes him comfortable with his needs and makes him enjoy life again.
Taylor is a Little who loves to please his Daddy. He lost his family in a tragic accident and struggles with survivor's guilt. He desire to please often puts him in horrible situations. At the club, a so-called Daddy and his friends went too far and leaves Taylor feeling dirty. A strange and kind man comes up to him and offers him the type of comfort and praise that Taylor has been looking for. Even though Law has never been a Daddy before, he is the perfect Daddy for Taylor. What he doesn't know is that Law is his roommate's father.
Law is a dad with two grown sons, divorced and bi, but not really exploring his gay side although he is a Daddy really wanting a boy of his own. He comes upon Taylor at a club, is attracted to him, but when he finds Taylor distraught outside the club, his Daddy side kicks in and he takes him home to care for and nurture him. Taylor obviously has a past which haunts him, but Law is wise enough to not pry, but let Taylor tell him when he is ready. Law has his own ghosts to deal with. The two definitely click with each other and a Daddy/boy relationship quickly develops. Challenges arise when it turns out Taylor has a close connection to a member of Law’s family, forcing the two of them to confront their pasts and work on thinking about and sharing how they feel about each other and what both want for the future.
Two interesting characters, damaged in their own ways, each desperate for what the other can give, and fortunate enough to find their way to each other through a series of coincidences. Taylor’s story is heartbreaking, and Law’s may be one less common than imagined with a bi man, married, with a Daddy kink, but not accepted by a spouse. The story drew me in and kept me reading without stopping until I reached the end. 4.5 stars from me.
The book was well-written and kept my attention throughout. The MC’s had an instant connection and their chemistry was amazing. Even though Law is new at the daddy stuff, he is a very typical daddy: protective, loving, take-charge, and possessive. Taylor is the perfect boy for Law; he is sweet, submissive, and just a little bit broken and in need of such a perfect daddy. Each of the characters had issues and trauma to overcome, and the story had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the conclusion. Being this was my first time reading a book from this author, I am looking forward to reading the whole series and any other works available.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sweet and Spicey. Lawson's nest is empty and he's ready to start living his best life. His ex wife planted ugly seeds that his secret desires were not healthy. Can he overcome her verbal abuse and insensitivity? He just wants to be a loving caring Daddy. Taylor, is carrying around a world of hurt, pain and guilt. He wants to find his Mr Right-Daddy. Can he accept the love and caring of Law without self sabotaging? Can Taylor accept that he deserves love and happiness? These two men can heal each other and lend strength so they can grow strong. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
'For the past three years that’s all I’ve wanted, someone to help me.'
'Was it too soon to love him already? This man… he was special… he was born to be a Daddy.'
I loved this book. It was such a sweet read about two men who really needed something in their lives and found it in each other. Taylor is sweet but also carries a lot of pain from his past. Law was new to being a Daddy, but it's something he always wanted and was a natural at it. I loved these two together, loved the way Law cared for Taylor and helped him heal. I was completely addicted to this book and can't wait to read more in this series. 5 stars.
After finding out about Law and Taylor's surprise connection in the cliffhanger for That Something Feeling I could not wait to get into this story! I wanted to know how the bright, bubbly young man fit with Cam's stoic father. The result is a beautiful love story. After a unsuccessful marriage and raising his sons, Law is finally free to explore his nurturing nature. He meets up with Taylor at a club and the two have instant chemistry. And I enjoyed seeing that the men helped each other. Taylor was able to confront trauma from his past and Law was able to start to repair the relationship with his sons. This is shaping up to be one of my favorite series.
I love how all the relationships are intertwined. How they are connected and have eachothers backs. My only disappointment with this book is Inwould have loved more info on how the discussion between Law and Ryan went. Did they have the dinner.
But Taylors story broke my heart, the man just wanted to be loved and accepted. Even though he hid alot of himself, with good reason. I loved how much he was there to help Law with both his sons. Law finally had a good relationship with Cammy..... with help from Taylor. The man turned into everything he didnt know he wanted
This was my favorite of the series, Law and Taylor are crazy sweet together. They have an immediate connection, it is very insta - but I don’t mind suspending belief when the couple really fits. It was nice to see that the other two couples, Dane & Noah and Cammy & Duncan are thriving. I also really loved Cammy in this, he was so kind to his dad under challenging circumstances. Law and Cammy’s scenes were so lovely. This one is super sweet, a very entertaining read.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This story is very fast paced. The relationship between dad and sons is a bit tenuous because of some unsaid truths. When the two m/c’s form a relationship the family’s forced to face some hidden truths. The love story is a soft, feel pretty good story but the book has the family aspect, too, which adds a different strength to it. The storyline engages you as it’s kind of cutesy and it ends with a happy ending for the m/c’s and the family, which left no loose ends. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
I didn't even read anything that was directly from Lawson's ex wife, but boy do I hate her self serving double standard piece of tart. Lawson is such a nice man and a perfect daddy. He gets his chance when he goes out of his way to make sure Taylor is okay. Taylor has his own set of problems. This story has some kind of 6 degrees of separation and it's a really good story. The secondary characters are so good, they each have a different personality that works well to build the story. I loved it so much! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Enjoy this book . First book I've read by Darla O'Malley. Only one I've read in this series but I loved how caring Daddy Law was to Taylor from the first time they met . Taylor and Law have a past that they had to talk about, but their relationship flourished . Liked that Taylor was not looking for a sugar daddy as he had his own money. I received an advanced copy of this book from GRR for a honest review. Would recommend
This is the third book in this series and it was a little less enjoyable than the first two. There was barely background on either character, unless you had read Cam & Duncan's story. Then you would know a little about Law. When we finally got Taylor's history, it was minimal. This book was shorter and felt rushed which was a shame as I was looking forward to Taylor's story I received this book from GRR. This is my honest review
Lawson met Taylor at a club when he came to the rescue and took him to his hotel room to recover. There was an instant attraction and Taylor hoped he had at last found his Daddy. It is terrible when I find a new author and series, catch up and then have to wait for the next release. Darla O'Malley has me hooked on the men from Riverside Town. I received a copy from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Honestly this book made my heart happy ❤️ It was insta everything but I don't even care because these two together.......sweet, sweet, magic!!! This was a really feel good read about a broken Boy and Broken Daddy who find exactly what they need and have been missing in each other. I would definitely recommend this read.
* I received an ARC from GRR, this is my open and honest review *
I love Daddy Law in this story. It was great to read his HEA after everything he went through. Taylor is a sweet boy who has built walls around his heart. Both Lawson and Taylor have some things from their pasts that come back to haunt. This Daddy steps up to be strong for Taylor so he can let go of his past. The love between these two men is wonderful. Their chemistry in and out of the bedroom is electric!!
Loved it. I haven’t read the previous books in this series but I’m going to read them now because this was fantastic. You do meet the other characters from previous books but you can definitely read this as a standalone. There is 0 angst with a wonderful HEA. I’d love to read a book of these 2 like 10 year later just to see how there lives continued
This is the third book in this series and the third book that I read by this author! I've enjoyed each of the book that I've read so far! Previous characters are heavily involved in this book too! Interesting story, and lots of emotions. I read an advanced copy of this book and this is my unbiased review!
It’s always nice when when you start with the cliffhanger from the second book. The author doesn’t leave you waiting till the middle of the book. If you thought you fell for the characters in the first 2 books, you’ll fall head over hills for these 2. You don’t have to read the first 2 but I do recommend it so you know the back story. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
It was about people who define who you are and about not listening to those people its about being you and about love finding it giving it and respecting the way people love each other
Not a fan, I know I didn't get far so maybe I didn't give it that much if a chance but the writing alone did me in. It felt very generic, like a beginners book with no depth to the characters.
Law goes to a gay club for the first time in ages and meets Tyson who is having a bad experience with a date. Law takes care of him and they become close very quickly. Tyson is hiding his past. Law also needs to come out to his sons and deal with the verbal abuse his ex did in the past.
This story was so cute. I loved how Law and Taylor met. Their connection was so lovely and I enjoyed the sort of Daddy Law was. This book prompted me to read the first two in this series. Hope they are equally as great!
I read this as a stand-alone and it was very entertaining; however, now I want to go get the first 2 books in the series to read about those MC's as well - they do make brief appearances in this book so you get to meet them and I enjoyed the writing so I'm sure I will enjoy their stores too.
I was excited to read this story as I enjoyed books one and two. This was also a good adventure. Lawson and Taylor are a interesting and entertaining couple. I enjoyed there adventure and there ending. I hope there is more to come.
I enjoyed this story very much. I haven’t read the first 2 books in the series but I do plan to go back and read them since I loved this so much. I love how supportive the characters are of each other and that they are not perfect but working on it. It was well worth the read.
WOW—I absolutely cannot believe this story! I have read the others in this series as my first from this author but it just keeps getting better! I loved watching these MCs get their hard-fought for these MCs! It was an insta-love story but it was too good to matter much☺️
His sons have now left home and living their own lives. He expected to find love much easier but it seems very much harder. He will see someone who could be the one for him but it is not going to be easy to get them. How will he do it? Can he find love? See just how it will all go
Sorry Daddy, was such a sweet read ,I really enjoyed reading Taylor and Law’s story it was quite emotional some times, but it was also great to see how they supported each other.
