FBI Agent Ella Dark, 29, is given her big chance to achieve her life’s dream: to join the Behavorial Crimes Unit. Ella has a hidden obsession: she has studied serial killers from the time she could read, devastated by the murder of her own sister. With her photographic memory, she has obtained an encyclopedic knowledge of every serial killer, every victim and every case. Singled out for her brilliant mind, Ella is invited to join the big leagues.
Doctors and medical personnel are being found murdered in brutal ways, their bodies crammed into tubes and left on display. There appears to be no obvious connection, and while Ella thinks she has seen a serial killer like this before, she quickly realizes she is wrong.
What is the common thread between these murders?
And can Ella figure it out and save the next victim’s life?
A page-turning and harrowing crime thriller featuring a brilliant and tortured FBI agent, the ELLA DARK series is a riveting mystery, packed with suspense, twists and turns, revelations, and driven by a breakneck pace that will keep you flipping pages late into the night.
Future books in the series will be available soon.

Another fast-paced thriller in the Ella Dark FBI series by Blake Pearce. This 6th book in the series really “packs a punch.” There is the usual serial killer mystery that Ella must solve as a new FBI agent. At the same time, Ella and her partner are dealing with another serial killer who is coming after both of them. If that is not enough, Ella is still trying to solve her father’s murder from many years ago, as well as, a new boyfriend who is acting too possessive.
There is nothing slow or boring when reading this series. The ongoing story flows well and even though there are many mysteries going on at once, there is no confusion between any of them. Ella (the MC) is a very likable character. She is young. She does make mistakes, but I think her mistakes just makes the story that much more interesting. As has started to happen in the last few books, the last scene is a cliffhanger and I immediately pick up the next one. I find there is no interruption in the ongoing stories when I do this. This is definitely in my top 5 FBI thriller series that I have read so far.
I can’t tell if it was the writing itself or the manner of the narrator’s voice that really got me, but this didn’t feel like a natural, flowing read. I was interested in the issue at hand and getting to the bottom of the mystery, but also it didn’t end up feeling nearly as satisfying at the end when you learn who did it. The emotions of the two main characters also felt incredibly surface level and there didn’t ever seem to be character growth, which was disappointing.
On the hunt! After Tobias Campbell successfully escapes from prison, it is up to Ella and Mia to protect themselves while also making sure he doesn’t hurt anyone else in the process. Unfortunately, their boss has other plans for them, deciding to keep them far away from the case and potential capture, and sends them to work another case together, after the disaster of working with other partners in the last book. This book focuses on Ella and Mia getting back some of the relationship they lost after Mia found out what Ella had done, and we also see Ella have problems with her boyfriend after she finds he has an abusive streak that isn’t going anywhere. This book was a wild ride, and I cannot wait to see what happens between Ella, Mia, and Tobias and if they are able to capture him before he hurts anyone else or kills either of them! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This one bring Ella and Ripley back working together again. It's a bit rocky at the start and had Tobias not escaped, I don't think they would be working together. Through the case, both of them realize how good they are as partners and I think worked around to moving past things. I was really glad that Ella finally let Ripley in on what was going on with Mark. Hopefully between that and the big confrontation at the end things with Mark will be done. I just hope they are done in a very final way, which is a maybe with how the book ended.
There was something about the case that they worked on that made me a bit sad. I felt for the person things were centered around, for those that were murdered or almost murdered. It was a no win option and they all lost. It's just too bad that someone had to take things too far.
Ella and Mia have partnered again and agreed that what happened in the past should stay in the past but they would not have any more secrets between them. They have been given a difficult case where health care workers are being killed but there's very little tying them together. At the same time, Ella and Mia are keen to start hunting for Tobias Campbel, and Ella is having to deal with the harassing situation with Mark. Will they be able to solve the crimes and find the culprit? Will Ella be able to get rid of Mark's attention and end their relationship? How about Tobias - what will happen? Girl Erased has a great plot, is a well-written story, and provides good entertainment for its readers. I received a free copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review.
as always a nice and quick an easy read by Blake. the story really sucked me in this time especially with the on going storyline from previous books. can't wait to read the next one
Interesting premise but just ok execution. The murderer's profile was easy to get but the murderer was never introduced so you couldn't guess. I love FBI stories & the inaccuracies were so numerous it took away from the story. There's no way HR & hospital staff will give away personal info & details without a warrant or that agents would kick in 3 people's doors just cause they were suspected. Getting new doors is expensive & mostly likely that confidential evidence couldn't be used if the person did become a viable suspect in trial.
I tried to like this series, but I can't do it anymore. The last book was the best book in the series so far, but it's not enough to keep me reading this series. I dont like how ella keeps secrets from her partner even though she knows how well that went the first time she lied to Mia....the main character is not learning from her mistakes, and im done. Ella is an unlikable character for me and is not carrying the series well at all.
Once again, same formula as all the other books that came before it. There is nothing more to add so just read my previous reviews. I really hope things with Mark are finally done for real because I’m sick of his character tagging along in this book series for no reason. We know he’s a piece of crap and Ella knows he’s a piece of crap, so why is she so wishy washy about her thoughts about him and whether or not to tell Ripley about him until the very end? No one is going to question why you broke up with someone who's abusive.
I also don't know why in this book she kept the secret about going to talk to
There's just no progression to these books. None of the characters are developing and it seems like everything is becoming more and more far-fetched as the series moves on.
Wow: Tobias is on the loose and he is hunting our favorite Agents, Mia and Ella. We find that Tobias Campbell has broken out of solitary confinement has killed and is on the hunt for Agent Mia Ripley and her trainee Agent Ella Dark. We actually should stop calling her trainee because she helped her partner on the last case Nigel, to solve the case. This book focuses on Ella and Mia getting back some of the relationship they lost after Mia found out what Ella had done, and we also see Ella have problems with her boyfriend after she finds he has an abusive streak and he has anger management problems, which he says he is seeing a therapist for. She does not want to keep secrets from Mia, but she actually doesn't want Mark to lose his job over their relationship problems or lack thereof. I am so excited to read the next book in this series because Tobias is hunting Ella and Mia and he is up to his old antics before Mia caught him and he was put in maximum security prison. I do have other series by Blake Pierce I love especially Jessie Hunt and
I enjoyed this book as well. So far, I am really liking this series!!
Spoilers?
I like that Mia and Ella are working together again and that Ella basically solved this entire case on her own. I did not like that she keeps breaking the rules and sharing information with suspects to get her answers. I mean I get it and it adds that little extra something to the plot, but like girl for once solve it on your own without having to break rules to that extreme.
I LOVED THAT SHE KICKED MARKS ASS! As someone who has been in abusive relationships, it was AMAZING to read her take him down.
The epilogue was good! Did Tobias get Ella? Is that Mark sleeping on the couch waiting for Ella? Is it Ella's roommate? I CAN'T WAIT TO FIND OUT!
6th book in the series and I’m ready for the next . I’m glad Ella and Mia are back working together . Tobias is coming for them and this time the director sent them out of state for another case . Ella proved herself to Mia solving this case on her own for the most part and not to mention their are zero secrets between them . Ella filled Mia in on what kind of man Agent Mark is so now Ella is single like a pringle lol . Tobias famed his way into Ella apartment and I am hoping the man on the couch is Agent Mark because I don’t see him leaving Ella alone even with her threatening to report him to the bureau . Will Tobias finally catch the dynamic duo in the next book is this barley the start of his hunt ?
Tobias Campbell has escaped and is out to get Ella Dark & Mia Ripley. The two agents have decided to work together to take him down, but their boss has different plans for them. He sends them to New Jersey to work on a case there hoping to keep them out of harm's way. Ella broke off with her boyfriend, Mark, who is also an agent. He keeps sending her threatening texts that she continues to ignore. She needs to tell Mia about him but keeps putting it off. Their main goal is to solve this case and then find Tobias. This is a well written book that will keep you turning pages into the night. Can't wait for the next in the series!
Ella and Mia are back together as partners but Ella is a bit distracted. There’s a serial killer on the loose killing medial personnel. Her recent boy friend has trust issues and is bombarding Ella with texts demanding who she’s with. They have trouble narrowing down the suspect list and have a few false starts. Poor Ella feels that Mia isn’t listening and runs off on her own. Thank goodness Mia comes to save Ella from the serial killer. Unfortunately the serial killer who’s targeted Mia has escaped prison and now wants both agents dead.
This version had a few more typos, and interesting sidenote, is that the author must be British as he uses words like ‘lounge’ instead of ‘living room’. The solving of the main mystery is good as always and the threat of the Apex serial killer is a consistent edge of your seat, page turning reason to keep coming back for more. Also very satisfying how Ella deals with her abusive ex.
The series keeps its level, with the usual good things and bads. I don't like how action scenes are described and the overall feeling is that everything is not that much plausible (looks like there is a new serial killer every month, for example. Plus for some reason the killer is haunted by two people at most.) In this book Mia is more useless than ever, but somehow I am attached to her, I hope she'll not die in the final book.
This book drove me crazy. As a NJ hospice worker, they got the law all wrong. The law they kept citing allows those with a terminal illness to end their own suffering through Medical Aid in Dying. It has nothing to do with making decisions for others who are incapacitated. What they allowed this woman to go through was completely unethical and no medical provider or establishment would allow it. Maybe a little research next time?
Ella reunites with her friend and fellow agent Mia Ripley in this whodunit in the series. Someone is murdering medical workers in New Jersey. Ella is dealing with a nut job boyfriend. And Tobias Campbell, psychopath and serial killer, has escaped from a maximum security prison. The book is another wild ride in 180 pages. Very entertaining read.
Continued suspense. New plot moves quickly. Ripley and Ella are in their game. But no idea Tobias is so close. I dislike having to wait on books. Still needs some editing. This one seemed very short. Still a lot of unanswered questions. But some clues have dropped. Another good book.
I'm a fan of the Ella Dark books but this book annoyed me which is why I didn't give it 5 Stars. It seems that Ella would not have kept it secret that Mark slapped her and she wouldn't have our up a fight the first time. I don't like the tone of Ella being a battered woman. I hope in the next book her backbone returns.
I really enjoy this series - they’re all mysteries and quick reads. This particular one, I had to chuckle that two different characters around their late 60’s were depicted more closely to someone in their late 80’s.
The books in this series always make for a great palette cleanser after a deeper book.
Library book is due in a few days so plowed through this book. Seems unrealistic that a serial killer who escaped from prison is gallivanting around and there isn’t a sense of urgency to capture him. Oh, yes. Let’s also put the two FBI agents who the killer covets on a case with no additional protection.
This one is now my least favorite. Ugh I feel like the whole part with Mark literally hitting her and her just putting up with it / not telling anyone feels so out of character and just weird!!!!
I don’t even really care about the crimes anymore I just want to know what happens with who got out 😵💫😭 I don’t know if I am going to keep reading but I might

Girl, Erased (An Ella Dark FBI thriller ---book 6)
Really enjoyed the Ella Dark (rookie) with Mia as her trainer. The two of then made a great couple. They were nothing alike. but worked well together. Enjoyed the end of the book especially having Mark getting his comeuppance without Ella paying for it.
She figured out who the serial killer was, I just KNEW she was going to get beat up on before taking him into custody. Didn't expect her to get beaten up that much. I now need to see how she is going to outsmart and outlive the serial killer that escaped. ALSOOOOO, MY GODNESS. It took you that long to realize that Mark wasn't a good guy.

These two are the perfect duo for crime investigation. Ella’s knack of remembering everything she sees and Mia’s experience make for an excellent psychological thriller.
