Oh, my heart! Erik Jorgenson - in all his sweet, sexy, Swedishness - just straight-up stole it, and I’m not even mad.
I mean, let’s be real, I didn’t even fight him.
As a loyal fan of the Rookie Rebels series, I was primed for Erik and Casey’s story. Erik is no stranger in Kate Meader’s hockey stories, and so with the glimpses and snippets I’d been given of him and Casey in previous stories my heart was already half on board and ready to ship them. That said, I loved that things didn’t play out quite as I might have expected them to. I loved the little emotional twist that explained most of the bumps in the road of their relationship, and the sweet way they moved past it. This is a novella, so things did move pretty quickly – but because I went in primed, it didn’t feel like it was too quick.
In fact, it felt like a perfect holiday fantasy. It was filled with cozy scenes and lots of Christmas (my favorite!) cheer. Add in an adorably sexy hero who sometimes came off as bumbling, but always came off as genuine and earnest – plus a strong, but wounded heroine whose warm personality and great big heart seemed a perfect fit for the swoony Swede - and, yall? I gobbled the whole story up like it was a Jorgenson delicacy at a Julafton feast.
That is to say, I loved it. I loved the chemistry between Erik and Casey that flared into some decidedly scorching moments between them. I loved the tenderness that bloomed as they opened their hearts to each other. And I loved, loved, loved the super satisfying happily ever after they were given. Rebel Yule was the perfect holiday gift for my heart, and a delectable sweet treat in the Rebels-verse. You definitely don't want to tempt Tomte’s revenge by skipping out on this wonderful romantic escape! ~ Shelly, 5 Stars

Rebel Yule is a fun, smart, sweet holiday romance with enough naughtiness Santa should triple-check the Nice list this year!
Good guy, Erik “Fish” Jorgenson, is bound and determined to figure out why Casey Higgins hates him. He’s so likeable and kind and good, he just doesn’t understand what’s Casey’s deal. She’s nice to everyone else but him. Erik wants to make things right, wants to find a way to at least be friends—though he’d prefer to be much more than friends with the gorgeous, sexy, smart woman who haunts his dreams.
Oh, Casey’s harboring some seriously pent-up disgust for Erik all right . . . not that she’s ever shared the full story and details with anyone even remotely related to the Rebels. Nope, that’s her story to tell, her secret she’ll carry to the grave. If Erik doesn’t know what he did, then that’s his problem not hers. Doesn’t matter one iota that Erik is her ultimate fantasy dream man. Nope, not one bit . . .
Until the holiday party which seems like the right time, right place to figure it all out and get some answers from them both—while getting busy in the coat closet. *wink emoji, smirk emoji, wink emoji*
Good golly, I’m surprised the heat from the attraction between Erik and Casey didn’t melt my Kindle. There was so much going on between these two and their unspoken body language. They both have some ghosts from their past relationships that drive their current situations—and these ghosts definitely need to be banished. But I knew that when they sorted out their stuff they’d be electric.
I loved the heat and humor of this fantastic enemies-to-lovers romance. Loved the balance between witty snarky banner and heartfelt honesty and baring of emotions. I have loved the snippets of Erik stories in the other Rebel-verse books and was so happy that he too got his happily ever after. ~ Missy, 5 stars
