Ellie Masters is a USA Today Bestselling author and Amazon Top 15 Author.
In addition, she's a wife, military mom, doctor, and retired Colonel.
She writes romantic suspense filled with all your sexy, swoon-worthy alpha men. Her writing will tug at your heartstrings and leave your heart racing.
Born in the South, raised under the Hawaiian sun, Ellie has traveled the globe while in service to her country. The love of her life, her amazing husband, is her number one fan and biggest supporter. And yes! He's read every word she's written.
I can't. I am reading the same sentence every other page. I honestly should have counted how many times the words, attraction, infuriating, tension and challenge were on every page. I'm also exhausted by the phrase "undeniable chemistry" considering Cage is way more into Ava than Ava is into him and he lost me when he called her skittish in his head narrative because he keeps making jokes about getting her in bed that she's not amused by.
I could keep going if we got more of Ava and her expertise but Cage is insufferable as a character for me.
I loved Cage and Ava's story. Cage was well worth waiting for. He is a wildlife photographer and adventurer. Ava is an expert in Alaskan wilderness. When they meet, they instantly clash. Cage thinks he doesn't need a "babysitter". Ava is determined to do the job Cage's editor is paying her for. She plans everything down to the last detail. Cage is the "fly by the seat of your pants" kind of planner. What follows is a battle of wills. Cage learns some harsh lessons out in the Alaskan wilderness. Ava learns that his ideas have merit too. Feelings develop amidst the hardships they run into. This book has everything you could ask for. Action, adventure, danger, no end of suspense and romance. Get this book ASAP and see what all the excitement is about. You won't regret it. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.
Two strong characters that will need to put their trust in each other if they are to survive the fight of their lives!
Such a well written story!!! I truly felt every emotion that Cage and Ava went through!! Oh and the setting…..an incredible build up out in the great Alaskan wilderness that you have to experience!!!
Magnificent job Ellie Masters!!! I definitely recommend reading Cage!
Ava Livingston is a renowned Alaskan wilderness guide and she is dreading her last client for the season, Cage La Rouge, an adventure photographer who has done incredibly difficult and life defying adventures seeking the perfect photograph.
The first portion of the story has Ava and Cage meeting and circling each other as they assess each other’s skill, tenacity and dominance. Cage’s approach is to travel light, fast and push the envelope while Ava is much more measured in how she approaches the trip. Ava is methodical in planning every last detail of the route, the equipment needed, etc. They recognize each other’s skill and experience, and as they get out on the trail they slowly build a close bond.
When they stumble upon danger, they rely upon each other and their bond deepens and intensifies. The last third of the book brings suspense and danger into the storyline. The emotional connection doesn’t cross into the physical until the very end of the book.
While a very well written book, it focuses on the Alaskan wilderness, and the development of the characters’ emotional connection for the vast majority of the book.

I enjoyed Cage and Ava's story.... Cage is a wildlife photographer and adventurer.... Ava is an expert in Alaskan wilderness..... When they meet, it's like they disagree from the get go .... Cage feels he doesn't need a "babysitter".... yet as Ava is determined to do the job set forth in her acceptance of what his "people" are paying for She plans everything down to the last detail.... However Cage is one who likes his freedom to do as he wants to..... SO therefore we get 'a battle of wills'. Cage and Ava learn that working together as each have a genuine knowledge of what is needed in the wild ... Feelings develop amidst the hardships they run into. The build up to once you get to chptrs 29 thru 32... IN THIS readers opinion THOSE chptrs will have you on the edge of your seat ... This book has everything you could ask for. Determination to do what's right,..Adventure, Danger, Suspense and assuredly ROMANCE... with an HEA... ALSO we get to see some action from the guardians :) Get this book and see what all the excitement is about. You won't regret it. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.
ARC review. Cage by Ellie Masters left me blown away. I love her books but this one had a different feel to it. It felt more like an oversized, breathtaking coffee table book in full color with a thread of romantic suspense woven through the mountains, forests and rivers of the Alaskan frontier. Cage and Ava were made for each other and the chemistry was palpable from the day they met. The action unfolded against a backdrop of nature’s finest views of Alaska and had me gasping for breath until the last page when an overwhelming sense of calmness and love filled my chest. Then there was more… a bonus timed 6 months later that wrapped up Cage and Ava’s HEA and left me with the feeling of my own HEA as justice was served.
Set in the wilderness of Alaska this read was an exciting page turner that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning up end. This is book 3 in The LaRouge Triplets series and what a great addition.
Cage and Ava’s story is overflowing with suspense, adventures and danger. These 2 characters couldn’t be more different and at odds with each other as they are facing a work assignment they don’t see eye to eye with. When an unexpected dangerous situation during said assignment arises, they discover just how much they need each other and develop a connection that went deeper than physical attraction. Oh but the slow burn chemistry was undeniable!
Well worth waiting for this installment was so much fun to read!
The author gives us a real winner with the third installment of the LaRouge Triplets, Cage. A nature photographer, Cage is exploring the Alaskan wilderness with Ava as his guide. She has some preconceived notions about him, but sparks fly as the danger around them amps up. The author has a wonderful descriptive way of writing about Alaska so much so I'd love to visit someday. This was definitely a romantic suspense story with a lot of action going on. This was a slow burn story, but you could feel the sparks between them even if they didn't act on them until the end of the story. Great wrap up and HEA.
I have been looking forward to Cage for sometime as I loved his brothers stories. This started slowly and took me time to get into. Once the action started though I was enthralled. I loved the appearance of Ethan and Charlie team. An enjoyable read with less excitement than some of Ellie’s other books and a bit less heat as well. But I loved Cage and Ava and the Alaskian wilderness as it was great for a cosy evening read.
A great first chapter leads you into this story setting the scene in Alaska and what Ava’s next job will be. What starts off as exploring the wilderness turns into something more disturbing and sinister and it’s not just the wild animals. I just loved this book, the descriptive writing of the scenery, the attraction of two people and then their adventure. It’s a definite page turner as they fight the odds which are stacked against them. I definitely recommend this book for readers who want more than just a HEA.

This book was a slow build up and not the normal Ellie Masters books I read. That said I loved the development of the characters and their story. Ellie style of writing sucks you in and thru her words you feel all the emotions from anxiety to love.
I learned a little about Alaska and the land that needs to be protected and how bad greed can destroy nature. I loved the strength of the h and the H protectiveness of his woman.
This book was amazing! Cage and Ava are great characters and you just have to keep reading to find out what happens. I LOVED the descriptions of Alaska and could really ‘see’ in my minds eye the beauty and majesty of what the characters were seeing, the writing was so well done. This book has it all, moments that are hilarious, sweet, sexy, exciting, scary and heartwarming. You NEED to read this book!
The last triplet brings us on a daring adventure in the wild of Alaska. If you want adventure that may lead to a daring escape or rescue. Check. He falls first. Check. Slow burn. Check. Mixed up identity. Check Check. IYKYK.
While this one wasn’t my favorite of the three books, it still gave me a thrill to see how Cage and Ava navigated their power exchange to go out in the wilds of Alaska and pit themselves into all the dangers that it holds. Ellie Masters always weaves fantastic tales that make you feel like you are right there living the moment with the characters. 4 stars only because I am not an adventure junkie and some of the details bored me slightly.
Cage is an exciting book! Cage is a wildlife photographer and avid adventurer, and Ava is an Alaskan Wilderness guide. Neither of these two is looking forward to working together, but the more time they spend together, the deeper bond they form. It started off a bit slow, but once the action started wow! Ellie Masters keeps you on the edge of your seat!
Wow... what a fantastic ending to The La Rouge Triplets Series. I loved Cage and Ava's thrilling adventure. It was great to see Ethan and the Charlie Team involved in the rescue of Cage, and Asher and Brody helping Cage with the recovery from his ordeal. Brilliant storyline with wonderful characters and a fantastic HEA.
Wow, this was intense! From beautiful scenery to a life or death situation, I was on the edge of my seat! Love the steamy buildup, and the brothers’ reunion was hilarious when Ava was around. Cage really got his story this time!
Ava and Cage’s story is non stop action from the first chapter. She is the tour guide who is hired to take Cage deep into the Alaskan wilderness to get one of a kind photographs. The country is spectacular until they run into a few problems. The wildlife and weather they can handle, the illegal gold mining not so much. How this all works out is a real page turning read!
I totally loved this book!! it is beautifully written with so much real emotions that it will draw you in as if you were living the story! It is an amazing story which is exciting, intense at times (you won't want to put this book down) and as usual Ellie Masters knocked this one out of the ball park!!! The descriptions of the scenery and nature in the Alaskan setting were awesome and beautiful! I definitely recommend reading this book!!! 5+++
Cage and Ava, what a great story. Both stubborn headstrong and sure of them selves they take a journey across the wilderness of Alaska. Unexpected close encounters beautiful scenery and suspense makes this a book to enjoy. They are a match made in heaven. I could not put it down.
Cage and Ava story is a slow burning romance with lots of heat, set in the Tundra of the Alaskan wild so there is breathtaking descriptions and lots of action. I’m so happy to have the final triplet story, and was happy to see his brothers make an appearance in the book.
Simply titled Cage, this book brings the Alaskan wilderness to life. Ellie’s writing is so descriptive I could see every scene and smell every scent. I was totally immersed in the story. It opened my eyes to our beautiful planet and how fragile it really can be. Ava and Cage use their survival skills to the fullest in this fast-paced, action-packed adventure where the beauty of nature is the star and the perfect setting for a blossoming romance.
Ellie Masters loves writing stories that spend a significant amount of time in the great outdoors. This time we have left the rain forests of Nicaragua and Columbia behind and entered the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness. I actually found myself wondering what the temperature was at some points. During the day it seem so beautiful and full of life; often warm enough for no coat. But the nights were cold as winter neared. Kind of like living in Canada where we can get 4 seasons in one day, LOL! NO JOKE! Anyway, there is no sweltering heat of the rain forest this time; all the heat comes directly from the electricity sparking between Ava and Cage.
Ava and Cage don’t start out on the best of terms, each having their own style on how to survive with only the items on your back. Ava is all about making sure her client stays safe and returns alive. Cage on the other hand is a little more laid back and not so sure Ava’s preparedness is warranted. Thus begins their push and pull relationship that builds a deep connection between them.
While perhaps not as heated as some other books by Ellie, she does bring out what I now coin her signature slow-burn approach. She loves to tease the reader while building strong connections between her characters. The slow burn between Ava and Cage leads to sexual tension, playful banter and bickering, and innuendoes that had me craving more pages. Keeping this trip platonic and their minds clear to stay sharp and beware of danger keeps this couple sizzling. One slip up where they almost threw caution to the wind showed them just how unpredictable nature can be. Their wilderness encounters made my heart pump. Action and Adventure certainly are the focus in this story.
I don’t know why it surprised me to see a Guardian team show up, but in another signature writing style for Ellie, events escalated, danger ensued, and a rescue was needed. Cue Charlie team! The La Rouge brother stories are now complete. All the triplets make an appearance in book three and I found the scenes where poor Ava mistakes those La Rouge triplets hilarious. Ellie had me laughing along with them – Ava she wasn't laughing so much.
This was another well-written book by I always enjoy her stories and Cage fits right in with the rest of them.
This is book three in The LaRouge Triplets series and it is Ava and Cage’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Ava is a expert guide in the Alaska Wilderness and she was not only great at her job but she was also respected for all the help that she gives other and how calm she stays in difficult situations and circumstances but her latest client might just test that to the limits. Cage is a renowned photographer and will climb and do anything to get the best shots so now his next assignment is going into the Alaska Wilderness to capture nature at its wildest and best. When Ava and Cage meet they but heads right from the start especially because of his arrogance and dismissive attitude because he doesn’t want a guide but Ava is a strong, smart, sassy and determined person who can give as good back and she will not be spoken down to or judged because she is a woman and eventually they call a truce because they will be in the wilderness together for several weeks and survival and staying alert and alive is the most important thing. The attraction and chemistry between Ava and Cage builds the more time that they spend together but getting distracted could means the difference between life and death so they will need to work together and rely on each other to make it back safe. Just when things are going well they come across a illegal activity which puts them both in severe danger of the human kind so now it is a race against time to get away, call for help and survive. The twists and turns, action, danger and suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what the outcome will be for Ava and Cage in the next and also if they will eventually get a future together. Wow I absolutely love this book and I couldn’t put it down because it was so addictive and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by Ellie Masters who is a amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her readers attention throughout while reading her book and you will not be disappointed.
Cage is somewhat different to what you might expect from author Ellie Masters. What you get is wonderful journey into the hidden beauty of Alaska and of two beautiful souls, who come together under circumstances which are far from ideal.
Ava knows every trail, every nook and cranny of the wilderness that surrounds her. Now, she must take a renowned photographer, Cage, out into the depths of the wilderness, enabling him to capture the wild animals in their natural habitat. Cage is no stranger to trails and back countries, so the banter between him and Ava when they first meet is a battle of wills. Ava, cautious, a planner, knows the area, knows the danger verses Cage, experienced on trails, doesn't need a "baby sitter", bucks against Ava's careful planning and the "emergency equipment" requirements that Ava deems necessary for the trip. There's an instant attraction and steamy chemistry between them, but Ava won't/doesn't let that come into play.
As they embark on their trip into the wilderness, the witty banter continues and the further into the trip they go, the more especially Ava's relaxes, even going as far joining a naked Cage in an cold cold cold pool. But, it's Ava's skills that detect something in the wild backcountry is not right, she's not wrong, but this is a danger that neither could have forseen. It's going to take the skills of both Cage and Ava, if they are to escape alive.
I loved watching how both Cage and Ava learned about each other and also really began to respect each others skills. The descriptions of the Alaskan wilderness, bring you right there as though your with them on their journey. The small, yet significant appearance of Ethan and Charlie Team was fantastic, but hey @Ellie why no Rufi (my latest addiction)?
This book has everything I enjoy in a book. The main characters are fascinating, true to life, and easily capture my attention. The storyline features a hot romance, but also includes a healthy dose of danger and suspense. The setting of Alaska and the highlighting of its natural beauty makes this book even more compelling.
I loved the tension, the battle of wills and the unexpectedly hot chemistry between Ava and Cage. They test each other’s mettle, knowledge and skill, each bringing their “A” game into play. She maintains her professionalism, knowing Alaska will be a challenge like none other for him. He may think he knows everything, but he doesn’t know Alaska like she does. He enjoys questioning her knowledge and expertise. She is a planner, a meticulous one, who likes to be prepared for possible emergencies, setbacks and challenges. She has learned that Wild Alaska can be unpredictable and unforgiving, leaving those who are unprepared in dire circumstances. The clash of wills does give way to mutual respect and a smooth transition into a team that works well together on an excursion into the wilds of Alaska. I loved the banter, the pull toward each other and their inner most thoughts the author provides for readers of this book. The gradual build up of heat between them is captivating.
Though they encounter dangerous wildlife and sudden weather changes, nothing is as dangerous as the unseen but very real threat lurking in the wilderness, set on destruction for the sake of greed. Soon, Ava and Cage are in a race to get their evidence to the authorities as well as a fight for their lives. Their story is compelling and thrilling, with plenty of grit, determination and spice.
I would most definitely recommend reading this very riveting book.
This is the story of the last LaRouge triplet. There are three - Asher, Brody and Cage. This is Cage's story. He is a world-renowned wilderness photographer known for his adventurous spirit. He is an accomplished outdoorsman and is in Alaska to capture the story of the Alaska wilderness. His publisher has hired Ava as his guide. He's an arrogant man though who doesn't think he needs a guide.
Ava runs a successful wilderness guide business who knows the land surrounding her lodge like the back of her hand. She is the best at what she does because she is meticulous in her planning and is very knowledgeable about the land. She is not any more excited about being hired to help Cage than Cage is because he is so stubborn. Lucky for Ava, she has a "brother from another mother" in Justin who insists on her checking in with him daily when she is out with a client. No funny stuff happening here - really a family forged by choice not romance. This will come in handy later in the story.
Ultimately the two head out but because this is an Ellie Masters book we can't have nice calm things and they find themselves in trouble. Not right away mind you. She sucks you in thinking this is going to be a book about these two people finding common ground in the outdoors as they spend time hiking though the wilderness getting to know each other between photos taken by Cage. The imagery is beautiful though and right up until the chaos starts you get sucked into the landscape of the story. It's another great read by Ellie!
No spoilers so you will need to read this to know the real danger these two were in at the hands of others.
I received an advance review copy of this book for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wow! Cage is a spectacular read. Ellie Mastersx writing is so descriptive and finely detailed that I swear I experienced the cold, the beauty, the serenity, the wildness and the fragility of the Alaskan wilderness along with Cage and Ava as they trekked their way across its endless expanses.
Cage LaRouge is confident to the point of being cocky, a daredevil, adrenaline junkie, phenomenal photographer and definitely not hard on the eyes. Ava Livingston is at the top of her game as a wilderness adventure guide. She's resolved, experienced, measured, deliberate and no nonsense. She doesn't buy into Cage's brashness nor his "I don't need a guide" to get me to where I want to go. In a contest of wills, though, she emerges the victor out of pure stubbornness and skill. Their week week adventure proves to be a deeply moving and emotional bonding experience. They develop a closeness that leads to deep feelings. The last third of this book is heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, action filled and suspense driven. It's definitely edge of your seat reading. Ms. Masters throws in an unexpected twist that was monumental.
This book was seamlessly written with incredible detail that made you believe that you had actually been to the Alaska wilderness. I was impressed by the deep determination of Cage and Ava to press forward through extreme danger and the drive to survive against all odds. I enjoyed the banter with the characters and also seeing some of the Guardians making an appearance.
This story was full of heart pounding action and held my attention that I could not put down. Who needs sleep. I really appreciated the bonus scenes that allowed us to see how Cage and Ava were doing six months down the road from the end of the book.
Author Ellie Masters continues to amaze me. I love her writing style and will read anything she writes. If you have not read any of her incredible books yet, you are missing out! She has all her books available in Knidle Unlimited. I highly recommend this book.

This book covers a renowned Alaskan wilderness guide and an adventure photographer.4
Ava Livingston grew up in the Alaskan wilderness and is a seasoned guide. She is just finishing a guide service for a group of teens and her next client is a photographer that wants to see the wilderness and take photographs.
Cage LaRouge has been all over the world and believes he is a seasoned adventurer.
Until he meets Ava. They go back and forth and after a bit he just loves to give her grief over everything. Ava believes he is a self absorbed pain in her but as he tries to get her to change how she goes about her wilderness trek with gear etc.
As they begin their adventure they each comes with strengths, skills and experience.
They end up in danger and must rely on each other to get through it alive.
This book has lots of suspense, danger and a fantastic storyline.
WOW! As much as I love, and I mean I really do love, the story telling by Ellie Masters, I'm blown away by the story of Cage and Ava. For someone that has been to Alaska, after reading Cage, I feel like I didn't SEE Alaska. I have now, through the eyes of Ellie Masters. I'm so glad that I didn't read the synopsis. I went in fully blind with no expectations. I experienced the beauty of the landscape and creatures. The fear that gripped them and the seemingly hopelessness. I've said it before, and I'll shout it again. Ellie Masters is a master storyteller. Cage just shot up to #1 on my list of approximately 50 books written by this author. Strength, resilience, knowledge, patience, chemistry are just a few words to describe Cage and Ava. Fantastic storyline, awesome characters and relationships! Cage is worthy of 5 stars and more.
Ava Livingston was Alaska Wilderness guide, the best for leading groups into the pristine, but often dangerous Alaska wilds, always prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws at her clients...so when hired to take famed wildlife photographer, mountaineer and playboy Cage LaRouge out for three to four weeks, she accepted since his editor paying well over her normal rate...since he was willful, determined he knows best and semi-skilled, it takes all of Ava's patience to let him know she's in charge...During the trip, he grudgingly learns how skilled she is and gets superb shots not available elsewhere...after big storm, they see evidence of illegal activity...but are the culprits still nearby...You will need to read this edge-of-seat thriller to see what happens...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.
