The last thing I would have expected when Odelia announced she was taking me and Dooley along on her honeymoon, was that I’d need to develop sea paws for the occasion. Yes, the honeymooners had decided to take a Caribbean cruise. Now if there’s one thing I dislike even more than being aboard a vessel floating in the middle of a large body of water, it is the presence of thousands of people having a good time and in doing so ignoring to watch their step. Lucky for us we had a nice cabin practically all to ourselves, since Odelia and Chase went island hopping.
But that was before our next-door-neighbor, rapper Lil Thug, famous for the diamond he’d had implanted in his forehead, was murdered, and someone absconded with the twenty-million-dollar pink gem. The ship’s security officer asked Odelia and Chase to assist him in his investigation, and so yours truly managed to make himself useful after all, by snooping around for clues, and collecting gossip all over the Queen of the Seas. And a good time would have been had by all if not two seagulls had developed a healthy interest in myself and Dooley—healthy for them, not for us!
Nic has a background in political science and before being struck by the writing bug worked odd jobs around the world (including but not limited to massage therapist in Mexico, gardener in Italy, restaurant manager in India, and Berlitz teacher in Belgium).
When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.
He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.
As we found out a few books back, Max and Dooley do not like water so what are they doing on a cruise? Has Marge and Tex's home been restored? And where are Harriet and Brutus in all this? I love that Max and Dooley are broadening their horizons. They also experience a couple of new skills they develop. So great that they are in a new environment but still continue their sleuthing. And so glad I've been with them since book one to watch them grow, change and make new friends and acquaintances.
It's Odelia and Chase's honeymoon cruise (what book were they married?) This is only the second book I have read. I wasn't going to read any more of the series; however, this book was free and it's about a cruise: two words I love. Max and Dooley are also onboard. A well known rapper Lil Thug is murdered and the diamond that was in his forehead has been cut out. Even though this is Chase's honeymoon, the detective onboard asks him and Odelia to assist. That also means Max and Dooley will help out, also. A lot of activity in this book: the cats end up in the ocean, they make friends with a toy size dog, Odelia befriends a troubled teenager, and of course, the cats solve the murder.
Odelia and Chase Kingsley has gotten married and the family has sent them on a Caribbean cruise for their honeymoon. Of course Max and Dooley go with them. They meet up with a rapper who is in the next cabin and he has a $20 million dollar diamond embedded in his forehead. When Lil Thug is murdered ship security asks Chase and Odelia to help them solve the crime. Max and Dooley meet up with some nefarious seagulls who try to carry them away.
This was a fantastic story line and the characters were great! Really hated those birds, though! I was on the edge of my seat when they grabbed Dooley. But Max saved the day. This is such a phenomenal series I'm quick to download and read them as soon as they come out!!!!!
What's a perfect cruise without a murder thrown in for Max and his human Odelia to solve (while on her honeymoon with Chase!)? And two pelicans trying to abduct Max and his pal cat Dooley, leading to a cat over board emergency... just read it for yourself to get the thrills and chills!
What a fun story. Max and Dooley accompany Odelia and Chase on their honeymoon cruise and are soon embroiled in a murder mystery. More worrying though are the attempts on Max and Dooley's lives. Max solves the mystery but Chase is the cats hero.
So this book took an interesting trip, a cruise as a honeymoon for Chase and Odelia and of course Max and Dooley went along. They had an interesting adventure, but ended up loving it.
Well, Max did it again and solved another murder mystery! Odelia & Chase finally went on their honeymoon. A cruise and Max & Dooley got to go with. They have plenty of excitement of their own. Another Fun read!
Max was so funny in this. I love all of his books. I can't wait for them to come out. He and Dooley are so fun to read about. So many interesting characters over and over in each book. Makes you feel like you are part of the family. I really look forward to each new one. Nic Saint is such a great author.
