Steamy trouble with his best friend’s long-lost brother
Peyton
I thought he was a stranger when we met—a night that started in a bar, working up the courage to explore my sexuality. But it wasn’t until Jet dropped his wallet in an alley thirty minutes later that I saw his legal name, Alastair Brown, and my heart stopped. My friend and business partner, Noah Brown, had a brother with that name. A brother he hadn’t seen in years, a famous DJ and party boy with a reputation for causing scandals. Scandals like dragging a straight-laced architect into an alley, pushing me against a brick wall, and blowing my mind. Suddenly, Jet and I are thrown together, our lives colliding. He’s nothing like what I expected, yet somehow, exactly who I need. But even if my tattooed party boy is willing to try for something more, will Noah accept his troublemaking brother as the one for his straight best friend?
Falling for Trouble is a steamy, low-angst MM romance with an HEA. Peyton and Jet’s story features sizzling heat, new beginnings, and a man learning to accept that he’s become a hot bear. It can be read as a standalone and is the fifth and final novel in His Best Friend’s Brother. Enjoy!
3 and 1/2 stars rounded up to 4. I enjoyed this. I’ve liked every book I’ve read in this series. I skipped number 4 because I don’t usually like threesomes. The writing is solid and the story kept me entertained. Also, no last minute breakup. That’s always a plus for me.
Peyton was staring at a guy in a bar trying to figure out his life. Jet took the opportunity to propel Peyton in a direction he didn’t know he was ready for.
This book is about discovery and being true to yourself. The chemistry and banter was smoking hot with these two characters. The only part I loathed was the dynamic with Jet’s brother AND Peyton’s best friend Noah. He was an idiot imo. Was easily manipulated by his crappy judgmental parents. He eventually comes around but I could have done without him being in the book at all. Lol. I understand why he was there as a plot device but he was cringe-y.
Jet and Peyton get there HEA and it was a full circle moment.
I have a lot of thoughts on this one. I really, really liked it but there was also some things that nagged me. Overall I've loved this whole series of sweet and steamy brothers best friend books. I'm coming back to write a proper review for this one when I have more energy after we are finished moving.
This is the final installment of the His Best Friend’s Brother series and they are all tangentially connected. The books could be read as standalones, but there’s something extra having read all the stories, as the characters from each make cameos throughout the other books. We first meet Peyton in Shared Secrets, as he’s Russell’s brother. And we get to see a glimpse of all the couples from the series here to see them settled in their HEAs.
The chemistry between the characters sparks and sizzles from first meeting, and only gets stronger with each interaction. But there’s more than just sex between them, and it shows with every passing scene. These guys are so right for each other. The author does a great job of showing that, and it’s so well done that I was on board with them from the very start. Their love definitely felt organic and real.
This was sweet, low-angst, and extremely enjoyable.
I have skipped the multiple MMM books in this series as that is not often my thing, but I’ve enjoyed all the other ones and will definitely watch for this author in the future.
After reading about Peyton's little brother, Russell, getting his HEA in Shared Secrets, I am glad to get Peyton's. He's moved acrossed the state with his business partner, Noah, to start their own company. A move, and starting a business is stressful enough for anyone, but to also be trying to figure out your sexuality, I did not envy the position Peyton was in. He was a very endearing guy, one that just needed the right person to help him understand how great he was. The devilishly handsome Jet was that person. Jet was also Noah's brother, which didn't make his and Peyton's desire for one another easy. Even with all the unpleasant stories that Peyton has been told regarding Jet, he still gave him a chance, he treated Jet like he mattered. It was sad to know how Noah thought of his brother, and it was only slightly better than how his family thought of him. I was so unbelievably happy, and proud, that Peyton stood up for Jet, that he didn’t let Noah get away with his horrible behavior. I also loved, loved, that Jet didn't allow the drama, and hurt, from his parents or Noah to chase him off. He proved how much he had grown, how much he had truly changed, by continuing to show up and be supportive. And, his text to his brother was much needed. There wasn't a doubt in my mind that Jet and Peyton were made for each other. Their relationship was sweet, and incredibly hot! They brought out the best in each other, understood and accepted each other, and completely loved each other. When Noah finally grew a back bone with his parents, he was able to realize what we the readers already knew. Jet had found himself a home, a family, and his forever with Peyton. I loved them getting their happy ever after.
This book was an easy read and the MC's were adorable. No one expected to find a relationship with a hook up. Peyton wanted to explore his bi side and Jet did not even know he was looking for someone special. The relationship developed from a one nighter to forming a friendship, then relationship. All the time Jet is trying to reconnect with his brother, who is Peyton's best friend and business partner. It was just a lovely story well worth it's4.5 stars.
Peyton was nothing more than a cameo in the fourth book, so it was fun to get his HEA. Like Kai in book three, Peyton is a more paint in the lines style of character, but less controlling and therefore a lot easier to connect with.
Tired of being called 'boring' (both in his life and apparently in the bedroom), Peyton moves across the state to Pittsburgh with his business partner, Noah. They start an architecture firm and are revelling in their success. But the message of 'boring' keeps replaying in Peyton's head. So he does something to be less boring. He goes out looking for a hookup, and despite the fact that he's always been straight-ish (he's questioned it a few times and doesn't fully identify as straight), he ends up out in an alley getting blown by and blowing an attractive man: a DJ named Jet.
The problem with Jet becomes apparent only a few minutes after the hookup. He is Noah's estranged brother, in town to try to get to know his brother. This gives an off-limits feel to their growing attraction and a reason that they don't initially pursue it. However, unlike the other time Cayden used this trope, it felt like a really good reason. Jet doesn't want to ruin his ability to reconnect with his brother by hooking up with his best friend. When they realize they can't really keep their hands off of one another, they don't just TALK about talking to Noah. They actually do it. How does that go? Well you're going to have to read it to find that out.
The relationship between Jet and Peyton feels incredibly organic. The intense attraction, the determination to help one another - Jet with Peyton's sexual exploration, Peyton with Jet's reconnection with Noah - builds a great foundation for them to build off of while giving some stakes to the relationship and a bit of internal angst for the MCs. The chemistry is palpable and radiates off of the page. I genuinely enjoy this pair as a couple.
We also get updates on all of the couples from the first four books, providing a great bit of closure as the couples fro the front half of the book and the couples from the back half come together to form one big friend's group - fulfilling me with one final trope: Found Family.
All in all, I highly recommend this book for someone who wants a light and fluffy read with actual stakes but low angst and high steam.
** THIS IS A VOLUNTARY REVIEW OF AN ARC PROVIDED BY GRR **
This series is a combination of binge-reading R. Cayden's other work as well as another recommendation from an Amazon email. The series: His Best Friend's Brother. The fifth and final book is titled "Falling For Trouble".

Okay, refresh for you (and me): Peyton is Russel's brother. Russel is Character A from book four who is dating Character B (Blake) and Character C (Casey), who are both Peyton's best friends. Now, onto the book/book review itself. ;)
Okay Part Two: this book was sooooo fuuuucking good! Like trying to figure it out your sexuality meets trying to figure out how to fix your past mistakes. They make each other better. They make each other stronger. They make each other complete. And it's so fucking cheesy. But so damn romantic. And why can't we all have this?
This is a new author to me and I like the book! I love this troupe brother’s best friends, bisexual awakening, low angst and with a HEA! Payton is having a hard time trying to figure it out and explore his sexuality, he meets a cocky stranger in a bar and they start talking, Jet is a DJ, they are attracted to each other and agree to have a little fun. They hooked and Payton is surprised of the chemistry between them and the hot encounter is of the charts, later because Jet wallet was on the ground he noticed that his name was the same of his partner and best friend Noah’s brother, he can’t believe that he just hookup with his best friend’s brother in an Alley. Jet has is a famous DJ and party boy but wants to be closed to his brother Noah so he moves near him , he want a relationship with him and do it right this time, when he meets and hooked up with Payton never thought he see him again but Noah invited him to a barbecue with some friends and his business partner, he is surprised to see him there and they act like they never met. He doesn’t want to upset Noah. Payton and Noah started to get to know each other and agree to a friends with benefits kind os relationship, they know that they shouldn't be together because of Noah, but they just can't stay away and Peyton is seeing a different side of Jet and isn’t what Noah has always telling him about him at all, Jet and Payton have a great chemistry and connection, they are so sweet together. This is a journey of trust and new experiences for both of them with a little of family drama. I like both of them and I have a good time reading this book. I received and ARC from GRR in exchange for an honest review.
This was the first book that I have read by this author, and I loved it so much that I read it twice in a row and I'm definitely going to go check out the other books by this author. I really fell in love with these two from page one. Peyton is the sturdy, dependable business partner of Noah who happens to be Jet's brother. Peyton is still figuring out what he wants out of life sexually, and he and Jet just happen to act on their attraction when they meet at a bar one night. Peyton doesn't realize at the time that Jet is also Alastair, Noah's estranged brother. They know that they shouldn't be together because of Noah, but they just can't stay away. Peyton is seeing a side of Jet that is so different than what Noah has warned him about. Jet is honestly the sweetest with Peyton. He opens up a whole new world for him and really boosts his confidence. Peyton shows trust and love for Jet, which really makes him feel like he is worthy of this love, instead of how horrible his parents were to him. Jet has never had a real relationship, but suddenly Peyton is making him want more. They just have to get past their fears and Noah's issues about them being together. I adore these two together. They complete each other in such a sweet and beautiful way. Please read this book if you love a good romance between two guys who deserve a happy ending. I did receive a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest opinion.
This is a new author to me and I really enjoyed the style of writing. Fast-paced and concise, the pages did fly by. This is a story of an intense attraction, between two strangers, that accidentally meet again. The off-limit trope can be a hit-or-miss for me and the reasons were solid. Peyton is a geeky, bear of a man that can no longer deny he is also attracted to men. Venturing out, at a bar, he finds a handsome guy that catches his eye. A quick connection with this stranger leaves him with an epic memory. Jet is the traveling brother of Peyton’s good friend and business partner, Noah. Jet wants to mend his troubled relationship with his younger brother, and you will need to read this story to understand how complicated and strained things are between the two brothers. When Jet and Peyton bump into each other again, because of their joint connection to Noah, they keep their distance as they are afraid to jeopardize Noah’s trust. They realize their attraction is strong, but is it worth hurting Noah when their relationship may not have the potential of lasting? There are many intimate scenes, and at times the plot may have taken a back seat. I enjoy reading different types of stories, but, personally, I prefer sexy times not to overshadow other parts of the book. If you prefer your books to be hot and sizzling, this will be a perfect match for you. Happy reading!

Architect Peyton takes his first steps in exploring his bisexuality with Jet, a hot hookup from a local bar who turns out to be the older brother of Peyton’s friend and business partner, Noah. A DJ used to a nomadic life, Jet wants to put down roots. He and Peyton have tons of chemistry, physical and emotional, and soon hookup turns to friendship turns to something more. I loved Jet and Peyton together: they get each other, and support each other, on a fundamental level, almost from the start. While they do face obstacles: Noah and Jet have a complicated past, made even more so by their homophobic, controlling parents, Jet has never had a longterm relationship, and Peyton is new to being with a guy, they manage to overcome them together. They’re sweet to each other and hot with each other, which is pretty much all you can ask.
It should be mentioned too that this is part of a series, but works just fine as a stand alone read (if you haven’t checked out the earlier books, however, I highly recommend them, and there are some crossover characters it’s nice to see again). Overall, a really fun read in a really fun series. Highly recommend.
*I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
R. Cayden is a new to me author. While this is the first book of theirs that I have read, it’s actually the fifth and final book in the series His Best Friend’s Brother. Though it is part of a series, I feel it worked really well as a standalone. The inclusion of previous main characters as side characters in this book was minimal and explained well, as to cause less confusion.
We quickly see that the main characters’ chemistry is out of this world. What starts out as a hookup soon leads to a world of sexual exploration and enjoyment. I really liked the fact that, while the characters each had their own flaws, they were each very accepting of the other’s flaws—to the point of instilling confidence in each other. Of course, nothing in life is ever that easy. Jet and Peyton have to navigate their relationship while Jet is trying to get back in the good graces of his estranged brother Noah, who happens to be Peyton’s business partner.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and now have plans to read the rest of this series.

This was a fairly fun addition to the series. We met Peyton in the previous book, that starred his two best friends and his younger brother. This was his turn to explore his identity,
What was supposed to be a one off—thank you, have a nice life—gets complicated when life decides to get a little ironic. When one becomes two, then becomes obvious it cannot be worked out of their systems, they knew something was going to have to give...but at what cost?
This story is a first time, self discovery story with a side of sort of forbidden, and a second chance for two estranged brothers to start over. There’s a lot at stake, and not just a good time. There were definitely a lot of steamy moments, as the chemistry between Peyton and Jet was insanely palpable. It couldn’t even be contained.
There’s not a lot of depth to this story, it it wasn’t superficial, either. It was a fast paced, easy to get lost in story, and I would recommend it for something light to read.

Falling for Trouble is the fifth book in the His Best Friend’s Brother series by author R. Cayden. I have not read all the books in the series. I was not lost in this book at all. Because characters do seem to be in this book from other novels you might enjoy this book more reading it in order.
This story is told in dual POV. I found this worked really well in this story.
What really had me loving this book is the connection between Peyton and Jett. It sizzles and practically jumps off the page. Really love a story like this one, makes me want to keep reading and finding out more.
Peyton, he is a burly guy. He considers himself to be a bumbling kind of guy. He is great at his job, and I loved that he doesn’t take himself too seriously.
Jett, he is a man who takes chances. He is a DJ, and a free spirit not afraid to go after what he wants.
I loved that Jett is reconnecting with his brother. He really truly wants this relationship. But he also wants Peyton, can he have both?
I loved this story and want more from this series in the future.
This bi-awakening story follows Peyton, the older brother of Russell from Book 4 (which I highly recommend) in this series, and Jet, the estranged brother of Peyton's business partner Noah.
After receiving Noah's lackluster blessing, Peyton and Jet dive into super steamy and playful exploration of Peyton's sexuality that's peppered with sweet and tender moments as growing feelings soon begin complicating their casual arrangement. It's all very low angst, and I enjoyed how supportive, caring and accepting Peyton and Jet are of each other from the start both as friends and lovers. Kudos, too, for the healthy dose of body positivity throughout.
While the main focus is on Peyton and Jet, Noah is a sort of linchpin in this story and I couldn't help wishing for more on-page time spent with the brothers actively repairing their relationship. Still, it's all wrapped up nicely in the end. I received an advance reading e-copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily. (Also read in KU.)
If you love stories where the characters grow and improve, you're going to love this book. These two men become stronger together and learn to value the relationship they're building together.
Noah and Peyton are architects who met in college and open a firm together. Jet is a DJ who was kicked out by his parents at 17 and made his own way in the world. His greatest desire is to build a relationship with Noah, his brother, when he moves to Pittsburgh. With Peyton caught in the middle, the emotions fly in every direction!
Family is made up of those who support you and accept who you are. When they don't it falls on each individual to decide what is most important...the views of their parents or loving themselves.
These men are great together. Enjoy their personalities and the love they build.
When your best friend’s brother turns out to be the love of your life.
Love, love, love, love it. This book ran me through a gambit of emotions as Jet and Peyton worked towards their HEA. I’m so glad Noah was on board after awhile and finally gave them both his blessing. I’ve read all of this series and while this can be read as a standalone, if you have the time do yourself a favor and read them all. It gives you a deeper look into who these men are. I hope there are more on the horizon for this series but I definitely know I will be reading whatever this author delivers to us next. This review is an honest and unbiased reflection of my thoughts after reading an advanced readers copy of the book.
Can I just say...WOW. This book blew me away. Falling for Trouble was outstanding. The way Jet and Peyton met in a bar, and hit it off, was brilliant. Later, when they accidentally meet up again, they know there has to be more to it than just a hookup.
I was instantly hooked reading about Jet and Peyton. This book was written with so much thought and care. It did not drag at all, flowed perfectly, and I had a hard time putting it down. It was told in dual POV.
The storyline was well developed and had great characters. I could definitely hang out with them. I really liked this book and would recommend it.

Falling for Trouble finally gives Peyton his HEA. As you may recall if you’ve read Shared Secrets, Book 4, Peyton’s two best friends Casey and Blake fall in love with his little brother, Russell, and now are a happy triad. You don't need to have read Shared Secrets to enjoy Falling for Trouble, though. It can be read as a standalone because everything you need to know is within the contents of the book.
TBH, I wasn’t a big fan of Shared Secrets. This book, however, is significantly better. In fact it may be my favorite of the series. The characters were better developed and just made more sense to me. Peyton and Jet and endearing and so honest and true to each other. Their chemistry is off the charts and the ending is perfect. I highly recommend you read this one.
So R Cayden left the best to last on this series! Much better than the rest of the series in terms of editing and proof reading which made it a much easier reading experience.
I really enjoyed the story, the bi-awakening and acceptance by the rest of the family was to be expected as they were all part of the same social circle consisting of a mix of lgbtqia+ people!
Book 5 was definitely the hottest of the series, but as with the other books the story still flowed with great pace.
I don't really have anything bad to say about this one as it was just a nice book with cute characters and an easy sexy read! xx
I received a free copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and provide my honest review voluntarily
I knew I was going to enjoy this one from the burb, but was not prepared for how much I loved it. The characters of Peyton and Jet are just wonderful and both have lots of things to discover about themselves and each other in this book. Peyton needs to decide things about his sexuality and Jet needs to grow up and decide what he really wants out of life. Together they find answers to their questions. The set up for their meeting and Peyton's discovery of Jet's identity was great and while Noah provided some roadblocks this was actually not a terribly angsty story. It does, however, bring the perfect level of heat.
Maybe I missed something at the start of this, I immediately had pictured Peyton as a thirty-something slim, clean shaven, handsome man, but when described a little later he is a bear of a man, and that had me salivating. This is a sweet story of two confused men. One is trying to figure out his suddenly uncertain sexuality, the other, a previous 'fuck 'em and run' kind of guy, is trying to understand his sudden feelings for one man. There is a lot of sex here, Jet and Peyton are sexy, smexy and cannot keep their hands off each other. A great read and a great addition to this series, was lovely to see the throuple again.
This is a hook up / brother’s best friend romance, featuring Peyton and Jet, and is book five in the His Best Friend’s Brother series.
Peyton never expected a wild night with a stranger to turn into falling for his best friend’s long-lost brother, the scandalous Jet.
I loved how Peyton’s journey of exploring his sexuality collided with Jet’s wild, chaotic energy, and yet they ended up balancing each other so well. A great final book in this series.
Things to expect in this book are: Book 5 in series MM romance Novella Hook up to more Best friend’s brother Architect x DJ MC wears glasses MC has pierced tongue Spicy times Exploring first times Role play Food play - Whipped cream & cherries Office s*x Getting caught Found family HEA
R. Cayden writes such sweet romances. I love how there for each other Jet and Peyton were even when things got tough. They put on their big boy pants and made it clear to each other how they felt and that it wasn't something either of them were giving up for anything. Peyton believed in Jet when no one else usually bothered to, while Jet showed Peyton how fun loving someone could be. They were such a great match. This is the last book in the Best Friends Brother series and I recommend them all.
I love all the books by R. Cayden and this book was no different! Peyton and Jet were scorching hot from their first encounter. Peyton is curious about his sexuality and Jet seems to be just what he needs to confirm he's into men. When Peyton discovers that Jet is his best friend's estranged brother is when things get interesting....Peyton isn't "out" and Jet hasn't talked to his brother in years. The attraction between Peyton and Jet is so strong that they realize whatever hurdles they have to face in order to be together are going to be worth it.
A wonderful story that I wish was not the last one in this series because I've really enjoyed this whole series. It's not easy finding out that your one night hookup turns out to be the long lost brother of your business partner, especially when the attraction and chemistry still burn! That is exactly what happened to Peyton when he finds out Jet is his business partner's brother. It was very enjoyable and hot watching their relationship develop and I really like how they do not give up on one another. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Peyton is questioning his sexuality after his last breakup with his girlfriend. He has a successful business with his friend, Noah, he just moved to a new city. Jet is a DJ and he happens to be Noah's brother and they haven't seen each other in years. Jet & Peyton hooks up and unknowingly they don't know they have someone in common. The two started hanging out and they get to know each other and eventually start having feelings for each other. The book is romantic, funny, low angst, sweet, and their sexy times are hot. I enjoyed this book by R. Cayden and looking forward to the next book.
***Received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review***
The last book of the series was an emotional read for me in a good way though. I have a soft corner for Jet/Alastair Brown. And liked Peyton. Peyton is in their thirties and is not yet sure of his sexuality. He wants to explore it. He meets this charming and cocky DJ name Jet in this bar. He finds him sexy and intriguing. Jet is amazed by Peyton confidence and shy nature.
The best MC introduction, loved their bar conversation and Jet's so called spot.
