From Remington Kane, the author of the TAKEN! SeriesSOULLESS - A Tanner Novel - BOOK 43Tanner and Soulless face off as they're each offered a contract to kill the other. However, the real threat comes from the person who is manipulating events from behind the scenes.
Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
Wow what an exciting story! I knew when Tanner met up with Soulless it would be epic. Soulless is aptly named as well as heartless. He doesn't just kill who he has accepted a contract on, but anyone else that is there as well. His last contract was so horrendous that he is no longer thought of as an assassin but a monster. This doesn't even phase him until his name is removed from the Assassin list. Tanner is even more determined to eliminate Soulless from causing any more heartache. There are always surprises when I think the end of another villain's life is ended. Henry is now going to be Tanner 8. He's passed his last 2 challenges that Tanner has given him. He has more training to do along with going with Tanner to take care of Soulless. This only makes me more impatient for Remington's next book!
Although I'm waiting anxiously for the White series to come back(I may have mentioned this a few dozen times). I still look forward to my monthly fix of Tanner. Usually you let us know what next month's book will be but I didn't see one this time. Does this mean we are not going to get Tanner book 43? We have to see what happens to Souless and to watch how Henry progresses. Also we need more of BS from the mayor and more on Romeo and Caleb.I hope this is a continuing story line. Thank you for all the excitement you bring to your readers. You are truly the best.
I think I'm running out of words on just how good this series actually is, and that's from book1. The writer gives us a fresh look everytime we go on an.adventure with Tanner. This time around we.are.after someone who feels he is the best and has such a spectacular way of showing it. The action is non-stop and the writing as always is just stellar. We are getting a full look at this man and what he stands for and the kind of person he is. The dialogue is spot on as is the character development. This was just one grand adventure and so looking forward to the next.
As Cody continues to groom Henry to be his successor, the two work a contract, then Henry is given his own with Cody as a backup. Finally, a double contract is devised in which Tanner is tasked to kill Soulless, whose murders have gotten out of control, and Soulless must kill Tanner to appease still another of Tanner’s foes. The plot thickens as fanboys get involved and sidekicks add additional depth to the plot.
Tanner who has a heart is pitted against Soulless who will kill everyone to get one.
Tanner is an assassin used by the good guys to get rid of scum that gets away with things they shouldn’t. Soulless is an assassin who will kill anyone around to get his assigned kill. They are brought together by someone wanting both dead and the results is chaos. Fantastic book couldn’t lay it down from start to finish. Looking forward to more
Henry starts getting contracts in training with Tanner and Soulless gets a girlfriend wanted or not? This book weaves as the storyline builds and grows favorite fans come into the story as do thugs. One thing for sure, Tanner and Soulless will meet will it be from a set up or will it be from a wild chase in the ocean? You won’t believe the ending in this book.
When you hear a writer has over 40 books about one character you normally would think they all can’t be good. But all of Mr. Kane’s Tanner books are great reads. Like I wrote in the headline the only disappointing thing about the book is that it ended. Thank you Mr. Kane for another 2 days of being in one of your stories.
This is hands down one of the best, bad-a$$ed, action-packed entertaining books in this entire series —& that's saying a hella lot! People who come away with their lives after crossing Tanner once should be grateful & stay ghost… but self-preservation isn't a strong trait in stupid psychopathic megalomaniacs (aka dumb as f*¢%!!) like Soulless.
I feel that Soulless will become the arch nemesis of Tanner that continue to be a thorn in his side. A recurring character like Wo Fat on Hawaii Five-0 or Dr. Loveless on The Wild Wild West. My question is if a person is drowned but gets CPR and they are saved does it count as an actual fulfillment of a contract.

It is genius that you've introduced an antagonist like this who is kind of like him you think you've killed him but you don't and he's not tennis ball he saw him die but he had an in his hands all his thing and he still came back is soulless really a human or is he from another world keep it up Remington you are a genius
I must admit that I’ve never read a tanner book that I did not like, but this one was particularly good. And using the character Souless, The distinction between good and evil, although I recognize it’s a bit odd to refer to Tanner, an assassin, as good, is markedly clear. This is another very good effort from Remington Kane (thank you Mr. Kane)
I get notified the minute Kane kicks out a new book. And I can't help myself - I put all else aside and totally devour that thing until it's done. I confess, I'm addicted to Tanner and his creator.
Wow what a read Henry is given his first contract with Tanners help and also helps with a battle between Tanner and soulless and what a twist !Who wins read and find out !!really exceptional read ! Don't want to give anything away can't wait for the next as always !!
Another great addition to the Tanner story. As expected, lots of action. Is this we got some character development with Henry, which was nice, as he continues to be groomed to become Tanner Eight. That plus a showdown between Tanner and Soulless. Recommended.
The Assassin Showdown of the century is finally here!!
Soulless & Tanner are hired to kill each other!! But before the 2 Assassins have it out with each other, thye have to figure out who was crazy enough to hire them, both & lead them into a trap to kill bothòftne,,.
Liked it as usual but the ending was disappointing. Do not want to spoil it for someone who is going to read it. I have read all 43 books and have enjoyed all. Read it .
I have enjoyed this series from the first book I read. I also read all the other ones as well as the Tanner books. The characters are exciting and the stories take me on a crazy roller coaster ride every time. I look forward to the new one in May.
This has been the best series I've read in a long time. There are 43 of them and each has been great. I like these military sort of books and add in a good plot AND excellent writing and you've sold me.
Tanner for sure all the way through this story. Repeats of who and why that aren't necessary if this is not the first one read. Soulless more than a little difficult to believe except for his drive to do whatever it took to get the primary target.
This was a thriller with quite a twist. Remington Kane is quite an excellent writer. I’m sure I will look forward to his books for years to come. This story has wonderful twists and turns along the way. The ending with his daughter is memorable.
Good storytelling requires a steady flow of circumstances and adventure that eventually add up to the inevitable justice you expect, desire, and even demand. It takes imagination to build the whole thing to a satisfying and expected end....or does it end?
