This is just a little short set around Halloween. Something/someone is causing havoc in town pranking everything, causing chaos for the police. When the culprit is able to egg/TP the whole street in about 2 min. Simon figures it out and he and Vic go looking for a fairy ring to send the creature home. Vic's enthusiasm for Halloween is also sweet and Simon who has less than pleasant memories indulges him. So just a sweet interlude without too much danger, just enough.

Kinda disappointed in this novella. A *short* short story that really doesn’t break any new ground. It easily could have been a couple of chapters in one of the novels. Some minor Halloween pranks by a mischievous fae creature, some sweaty cosplay sex, and Vic likes Halloween. Nothing attention grabbing.

Night is a short story in the badlands series and follows the story of medium and psychic Simon and his detective boyfriend Vic. The book is very well written and contains adventure, mystery, and some steamy scenes. As well as magic and ghosts. This book focuses on Halloween. The characters are interesting and the story really good. Overall a very enjoyable read.

The short stories and novellas are usually very hit or miss with me, but this one was a hit! We spend another Halloween with Simon and Vic that is equal parts succinct mystery and spicy romance. I'm glad I didn't skip this one!

Pretty short and not suspenseful at all. The mood it’s really light and focuses more on the fun of Halloween and a bit of urban legend. The sex is not very imaginative despite a little role playing. I just felt a little let down with how entertaining the other shorts are.

Cute short story about Halloween. The first chapter was an interesting mystery about Halloween vandals and the second chapter was sweetness and a great glimpse into Simon and Vic’s life at home. Great addition to the series.

This may be my favorite story is the Badlands short stories. The case in here centers around a fairy and there is plenty of Halloween mischief and sexy times.
